I had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience with this dealership…read more I had negotiated and made a deal with Alex, the sales manager, on a 2024 Porsche Macan. We agreed that I would come in after 3:00 PM to pick up the vehicle. I was actually on my way to the dealership when Alex called me and told me that someone else had just purchased the car. What bothered me most was that no one contacted me beforehand to let me know another buyer was trying to purchase the vehicle or gave me an opportunity to complete the deal we had already agreed upon. I had every intention of purchasing the car and was literally driving to the dealership as arranged. I understand that dealerships sell cars and that another customer may be interested in the same vehicle. However, when a sales manager makes an agreement with a customer and schedules a time for that customer to come in and complete the purchase, I believe there should be some level of professionalism and communication before selling the vehicle to someone else.

I just wanted to sit inside of one, kick the tires, get a feel for whether it would be worth considering or not. Neil was genuine, friendly, zero pressure, understood what I was looking to do and just relaxed, built the relationship with me on my terms. I came back a few weeks later with my partner to drive it, and he really liked it a lot... but wasn't ready to pull the trigger yet. Handshakes, business cards, no pressure, and we left. My partner said to me, "I'd really like to do business with him, he's a good guy..." We went back two days ago to see what we could work out. We had to get a little bit creative to make it all happen, but Neil worked patiently with us to make it happen, and we just picked the car up earlier this afternoon. My partner loves the little car, the transaction went smooth as silk, really had a good experience. He's already pretty much decided that when this lease ends, he'll go back, find Neil, and get himself into a 2028 GLC.

WARNING: Predatory Credit Exploitation & $15,000 Retroactive Bait-and-Switch…read moreDo not authorize a credit check at this dealership under any circumstances. They will lock in a deal structure, secure your sensitive financial data, get a bank approval, and then retroactively alter the terms by five figures once they have you trapped. I spent days working a deal in good faith with their sales team on a Cadillac Escalade. We finalized a financial deal structure that explicitly included a $93,000 trade-in allowance for my vehicle. Based on this locked-in agreement, I authorized a hard credit inquiry. AutoNation Corporate Auto Finance called me directly to confirm the loan was fully approved based on those exact parameters. The dealership tagged my keys, cleared out my belongings, and placed a physical "Not for Sale" stock sticker on my windshield. Once my credit was run and the bank approval was secured, the General Manager stepped in and executed a textbook bait-and-switch. They retroactively slashed my trade-in valuation by $15,000, dropping it to $78,000, claiming their internal inventory calculations changed overnight. They then had the audacity to offer a pathetic $1,000 discount to make up for a $15,000 hit. Nothing about my vehicle changed. Nothing about the market changed. The only thing that changed was this management team's willingness to honor their legal and financial word. They used an agreed-upon structure as bait to damage my credit file with an inquiry, only to completely rewrite the contract on the back end. This is an unprincipled, deceptive retail operation. The deal is completely dead, and I am moving forward with formal complaints to the California DMV Occupational Licensing Division, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and the California Attorney General's Consumer Protection Unit. Protect your credit and your sanity. Take your business to a luxury dealership group that actually possesses basic corporate ethics and professional leadership.

I recently purchased a used 2024 Jeep from Lexus Santa Monica, and this was easily one of the…read moreworst car buying experiences I've had. I've bought over 35 cars over the years, so I have a pretty clear sense of what basic customer service looks like. I waited more than two and a half hours to get an issue taken care of which ultimately was not dealt with by the dealership. My salesperson was pleasant and I have no complaint about him at all. He did the best he could under the circumstances, but management was another story. I think management just left him hanging and I felt bad as these issues were outside of his control and also knowledge. The used car sales manager Will is the one that I had talked to over the phone was essentially nowhere to be found when his involvement was needed on the day of sale, until the critical issue of a recall put the sale at in impasse in the final stages inside the finance managers office. I found the finance manager that I dealt with to be extremely aggressive and confrontational in front of my wife and my teenager daughter whom I was purchasing the car for. Additionally, after the sale, they emailed my the documents, this was over a week ago. I emailed him back that night advising him that i was unable to open the zip file. I asked him to send it to me again, that was 9 days ago. I still don't have the zip file with the sales contract etc. At one point, The Jeep was represented as being in quote "perfect condition", yet the rear tow hitch cover was missing. I was told it would be replaced, but that promise wasn't reflected anywhere, and I ended up ordering the part myself. More concerning, the vehicle had an open emissions campaign. I was initially led to believe required campaigns or recalls had been completed, only to find out afterwards that this one had not been done. After the sale and being extremely frustrated by my expreince I then reached out to LA Car Guy, the dealer group, to give management an opportunity to address these issues. Eight days passed. No call, no email, nothing. After being met with total silence from LA Car Guy, my own conclusion based on my direct experience is that management simply did not care enough to respond. I tried calling them as well without any success. The price of the car, the recall and the missing part is not why I am writing this complaint. The unprofessionalism of the management group, finance manager and complete lack of respect towards a customer is why I am attempting to get the word out. I am not expecting anything from them other than hopefully a change in culture as to how to deal with customers. Judging by the vast number of 1 star reviews, I am not alone in my feeling this way. Because of that, I filed a formal complaint with Lexus corporate, in hopes that it would finally get some traction. If you're considering this dealership, I strongly suggest reading through Yelp and Google reviews, especially the negative ones, so you can draw your own conclusions. For customers who have similar experiences and get nowhere, Lexus Customer Assistance is 1-800-255-3987 and in my discussions with them, they appear to care and take the complaint seriously. Perhaps escalating is what it takes for management to pay attention. Based on my experience and the lack of any follow-up, I would not recommend this dealership. But, if you end up working with them, get it in writing. My mistake was that I had recently purchased a Lexus from Woodland Hills Lexus dealership and they were extremly professional and respectfull. I just assumed that the Lexus corporate keeps their dealerships in check but I guess each dealerhsip has their own culture and practices.
