We got into town early in the evening and decided to walk around. Our AirBnB host suggested Jardin's but it was apparently closed. Luckily across the street was Fernando's.
No rats, no gimmicks, just straight honest local food. The beer was cheap. We started with garlic wine snails and tomato onion cockles. Plentiful, small delicious morsels to go with bread and beer. When the mains came in the form of stuffed pork in cream sauce and a mixed plate of grilled pork, I asked the server to NOT take away the cockle plate as I still wanted that jus.
Satisfied. Stuffed. I didn't mind if I might have looked like Peter Griffin. read more
