Since it is vegan, I stopped in to grab an original burger and fries to eat by the Yarra. The shop had fun music playing and the staff were friendly. The burger and fries were delicious and it was the perfect first lunch in Melbourne! My husband and I returned 4 times during our trip and loved everything we had! The funniest thing to me is that my husband asked them the origin of the name of the shop and discovered that it had NOTHING to do with Lord of the Flies! Rather, the owner of the shop loved Lord of the Ring and so that is where the inspiration was derived. I almost subtracted one star for the missed opportunity - Lord of the Onion Rings (kidding!). This place was great and everything seemed to be made to order. It took about 5 min or less to get my food, which gave me plenty of time to people watch at Flinders Station!

When I picked up my burger, Betty's Double, it was a brilliant example of a simple double cheeseburger - nothing special, but nothing ruined due to it. I normally don't order burgers with bacon in them (or get the bacon removed) but I didn't realise when I ordered. I only realised when my mate pointed it out to my whilst I was eating which is good because the bacon taste didn't overpower the burger. I also ordered a chocolate milkshake which was ok, but a bit too strong. Overall worth the price and an impressive burger. Fine atmosphere which I'm sure would be better when it's less busy.

I decided to take a late lunch and head down and check them out. When I arrived at 3pm the place was full, which is not too hard as the dining are sat around 15 people. They offer hot and cold food that includes noodle and rice dishes such as Japanese Don and Pad Thai, as well as sushi and sashimi. So why I don't rate this place is for 2 reasons. The food isn't that great and the staff just really don't care. The hot food lacks taste and the sushi rolls are soggy and often fall apart. My advice is try somewhere else. There's other similar eats in the same arcade, or nearby on Swanston Street and China Town that are much better.
