My wife had the butter chicken which was flavourful. My daughter had the chicken wrap we she enjoyed. My son had the Mac and Cheese which was great. I started with the French Onion Soup which was really good and then the Fish & Chips which was great too. Our waitress was great - attentive and friendly. I saw a few tables with young children as well as couples so the restaurant caters to all groups. We had a great time and will come back again.

I took both receipts in and the manager was able to spool back the transactions on video and credited me back for their mistake of 2 charges for same meal. I could have left it as I did get a free beer but well wrong is wrong. Food still good. Female Manager with dark hair nice to be humble and honest. I was told i wasfired because the company was given two foriegn workers when they expected one and apparently company policy since 2020 has been to take foriegn workers over local. That policy was spoken to me directly verbatim from the general managers mouth. Times are tough for local calgarians. Im born and raised here, should that really be a policy? The steak was done beautifully, the Monster burger, cooked to a perfect 'medium' (not sure if this was the cooks intention, some Canadians would have called the burger 'rare or underdone' and sent it back, but not us!) and the burger was dripping with bbq sauce (each patty seemed to be dipped in sauce). After 2 bites Hubs had to take a knife and fork to it. Not complaining about the size, it was just sloppily put together, without care. The fries, raw and flaccid. Sent back one order (I wasn't going to bother sending mine back even though I should have) and the second order came out the exact same way. We didn't eat any of the 3 orders of fries. Our Server gave us a 'staff discount' off the burger which was $2.85. SMH. Also, why are you serving chicken gravy with the steak sandwich or the aforementioned beef burger? Tons of character, great music, friendly-ish staff, tons of specials (can't really keep track) and the bathrooms were NOT pretty. Looking forward to when you get more established. Being known for always trying something new we decided to have a late lunch/ early supper. BJ's cafe is totally small town, old school. Love it! Asked to order a cocktail... no go. But! You can go next door (the next room) to the Lazy Ace Saloon and they have the same menu. Woo hoo! This place has character! They have posters for upcoming bands and looks like they host them on a regular basis. They have food specials and I had the steak sandwich daily special. Yep, the steak was fabulous and done perfectly to my usual preference of still mooing. Service was great, place was clean and they obviously have a passion for the Calgary Flames (to my Hub's, an Oilers fan, disappointment!). We will be back 100%.
