My father used Fenny Pharmacy for more than 3 yrs. Everything was fine, never any problems and staff is very friendly & caring. But not until just recently we had a bad experience with the pharmacist giving my dad a medication that was never prescribed by any of his doctor's. My dad is 82 yrs old & the pharmacist tech gave him Seroquel medicine (pills) in which this med is for a person that has mental/mood conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar & depression. This is an anti-phychotic drug. My dad trusted Fenny pharmacy, when it was deliver he took it. When he took First pill my mom notice that he was not able to move, respond, unable to sleep, eat & drink. Then he took 2nd pill that made it worst, my mom called me & I went over to check. My dad did not recognize me or anyone, he had a blank stared on his face. I called the dr that is label on the pill jar in which I did not recognize his name, called the number a few times & no answer or voice message. Then I called his primary dr, the staff assure me that his primary dr never prescribed or sent him to a psychiatric dr. His primary dr called me back after the staff gave him the message. Told me to keep an eye on him, & that if I see him worst to call 911. The medication had to run its course and it will take about 2 weeks for the med to vanish from his system. Also, that med can not be given to him because of his other health issues. I called the pharmacy & explain To Maria, she told me the pharmacist personnel will call me back. Mr. Badin called me within seconds, the first thing he said was "Oh, I am sorry, I made a mistake & gave your dad the wrong medicine". I had your. Dad on my mind because I have refills to do for him". I told him it was unacceptable & thatis not a good reason why he gave my dad the wrong medicine. He also told me he will called me tonight to see how my dad was doing. Mr. Badin lied, he never called me to see how my dad was doing. What he did was that he to tell the staff to call my dad & to bring him dish detergent, & other toilet treats at no charge. Very fishy!! After 15 min he sent one of his staff to pick up the pills, I gave it to the lady but kept the attached paper that has all the information plus took a picture of the jar that also shows proofs that Fenny pharmacy made a Hugh error. The lady wanted for me to give her the paper as well but I refused! I called my dad's insurance & was advice to change to another pharmacy, in which I did right away. After I spoke to the Mr. Basin, numerous of time they still continue doing my dad's refill. I had to tell Mr. Badin that if they continue refilling my dad's med that I will have to contact my lawyer. I had to contact my lawyer & was given some advised. I also filled a complain with Consumer Affairs, via email http://www.nabp.net/boards-of-pharmacy & http://www.fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch/default.htm. My last called to Mr. Badin was on 4/26 & he claims he was not aware that my das's med was being refilled by his pharmacy, he claims that he posted in the system not to refill my dad's med. We all need to be careful when our prescription are being dispersed, & if we can, pls read our elderly prescriptions to make sure it's the right med & dosage. read more
