My opinions and my experience with Fence1, Huntsville AL. I would not recommend this Fence1 company. Especially if you live in Birmingham since they are out of Huntsville. No local timely support. The "CFO" was unprofessional and communication was rude, in my opinion. When requested the owner to call me, he couldn't even trouble himself. The estimater, Will, was extremely nice, but once he gives you an estimate, he is out of the picture. The office staff said to communicate with them only. I paid April 29, 2026, and they said the fence was ordered. It was a black aluminum special order. They only carry one style in stock I was told. I was originally told usually 4 weeks, but sometimes shipped sooner. Next, I was told it takes 4 - 6 weeks. The fence was eventually installed one day shy of 9 weeks. I was told it would be a 2 day job. The workers (2) arrived after lunch and the "supervisor" said they might finish up today and work until dark. At 8:25 PM, they left and assumed the job was complete. I was told from supervisor, he would return the next day to sign off on job. On day 1, the supervisor initally stayed just long enought of spray paint the lines. Then left. The 2 workers worked extremely hard. No English, so had to translate on the phone. They said they had no water or lunch, so I provided for them. I will say that Fence1 said the do try and have all workers loaded up with water on the truck each workday. I followed up with the supervisor with concerns about the installation and cleanup and he said he would "come out here in the next few days". I told him all 3 gates were not installed correctly and he said "the metal gates are prefabricated and do not come to match the slope". I told him that is not true. When the workers came back out, they were magically more aligned. Seriously, Fence1. Maybe all the great reviews come from wood fences. But I assure you, my aluminum fence installation was not timely, it was frustrating, and just a pain. The only thing prompt with this company is their desire to receive final payment. read more

They installed a privacy fence for a couple of my neighbors and I. The owner was able to get be scheduled and the work started within the week of me receiving the quote. The communication with the installation crew wasn't the greatest due to them speaking mainly Spanish. The quote provided for the quality of fence was great and the cost was way cheaper than local competitors. The crew did install the fence properly by burying all post 3' in the ground and utilizing 6x6 post for all gates. Overall would use again for my next property. The quote provided to do the staining was a little high so I opted to Do it myself. read more

I am extremely disappointed with the quality of work and the owner Daniel Jordan's customer service I received in Huntsville. Less than a year ago, I paid over $8,000 for a fence installation. Recently, the gate hinge came loose and the gate fell when I opened it. This should never happen with a properly installed fence, especially one that's less than a year old. When I contacted the company to report the issue, the owner accused me of hitting the fence--an accusation that is absolutely false. I expected a professional and solution-oriented response, not blame-shifting. I asked him to do the right thing and he accused me of trying to get something for free. I have photos showing the gate and the loosened hinge, and nothing in my yard could have caused this kind of failure. This experience has been extremely frustrating, I do NOT recommend this company based on the poor product quality and the lack of accountability. A fence that costs this much should be built to last and be backed by proper customer service. read more

Fence 1 installed did some repairs and installed private fence across our patio. The contractors they used did good work, but the communication between us and them was bad. With that said Fence 1 corrected all of our concerns within a timely manner. I recommend them!!! read more

Worst experience ever; would not recommend this company to anyone!!! The owner, Daniel, was extremely unprofessional, unresponsive, and a liar. The initial response from the company was quick. The evaluator, Griffin, came out within the same week of initial contact, was pleasant and knowledgeable. He took a few days to give us a quote after telling us he would have it by the next day. We asked for a few different quotes for different materials (iron versus wood) which took him another few days to get to us. The iron quote was more expensive despite telling us it would be less. We were told that it would be approximately 4 weeks before they could come out to put up the new fence and would contact us the week prior to confirm estimated start date. This was the end of any decent service by this company. Radio silence for 4 weeks. We contacted the office who told us it should be the following week (5) [so why did no one contact us to tell us like they said they would]. The following week, I contacted Griffin since my husband could not get a hold of anyone to find out what day [we were taking the old one down ourselves to save money]. Griffin responded that evening and said he would reach out to his boss (Daniel) who subsequently claimed he had been calling and texting my husband and me all week with no response. We had not received any text messages, phone calls or voicemails from him. We sent Daniel a text message the following morning asking what day they would be coming after we did not receive any communication from him the prior evening. He NEVER responded until After we messaged him Again when a non-English speaking crew randomly arrived at our house later that day. He responded saying they weren't supposed to be there until the following day and asked us to call him....? We messaged him the morning of the work starting to find out an estimate time of arrival, if it would be the same crew, if there would be a translator, and if they would know what was supposed to be done since the crew did not know the layout or dimensions planned on the first day they arrived. NO RESPONSE. Three hours later, he responds only After we message him that the crew had arrived and still does not know where the new fence is supposed to go. All he said was "Don't worry. The crew will handle everything." Unfortunately later that day, my husband goes out to check the new posts to discover that the workers put the new extension in the Wrong places AND dug new holes and left the old holes in the yard (where my young children play. We asked if Daniel would be with the non-English speaking crew later that day when they would return to fix the misplaced posts. All he responded with was "No". We asked why the old posts would not be removed. NO RESPONSE. We did not hear from him ever again. Like WTF. There is radio silence until 2 weeks later when we get a text message invoice for the services provided. The invoice was incorrect so we messaged him with questions. Daniel's response was "sorry, who is this?" We messaged him back with our name and got NO RESPONSE again. We did not get a response for almost two weeks and even then it was just a "okay hand emoji". I have need a mechanical contractor for 40 years. I saw the great reviews for Fence1 and decided to have them do a repair. They also do the work for Lowe's. I put 1/2 down and then they didn't respond to emails and phone calls. They said it would take 2 weeks then they would start because they had to order materials. Ok. I understood. I waited a long time finally I gave up. And called another contractor. They they responded so I gave them another opportunity to make good. They continues to ghost me. Finally a crew came out and said they would be there the next day. Again. No show. So I gave up again. They Daniel emailed me and said he will have someone come over. Finally a crew showed up and worked till 8pm and got 1/2 of the work completed. At least the back fence was boarded up. And the side gate repaired. This was a different crew. Did a good job. But they are not finished. They want more money. These guys are the worst contractors I have ever worked with. I will not do business with them and I hope you don't either. I really don't think they even care about customers service. I hope Lowes figures this out before it's too late. read more

We needed our 20 year old six foot wood privacy fence replaced, and reached out to Fence1 for a quote. Daniel was very responsive, and gave us a very competative quote. We then put half down as a deposit, and set a start date. Due to weather conditions, our start date was pushed out about two weeks, but once the crew showed up, they were fast and completed the job in three days. The fence turned out great. read more

I too am newly retired and wanted a fence that kept my dog in. There are 4" gaps under the fence where my dogs can fit under and my neighbor dogs can get through. My wife and I are senior citizens and I plan to retire next year. My wife is already retired. Before retiring we decided to prepare our property as much as possible to make it low maintenance and easier to care for now that we're older. One of the task that we saved for was to have a new Vinyl fence installed and the old wooden fence would be removed. After searching for a reputable company we settled on Fence1. They came out and did the work. They DID NOT do a good job. They damaged two of my neighbors properties as well as my own. The fence has huge gaps in it where my dogs can get out. They installed the hinges in the wrong spot and then removed them and silicone the holes making the post look horrible. The gates were installed uneven and will not close properly. The owner was notified and he said he would correct the ruts in my yard and my neighbors yard and he would look at my fence. To this date he has not returned or called to elaborate on anything. I'm not happy with the cost and I feel like he's just taking advantage of seniors. We filed a compliant with the Better Business Bureau and he has still not contacted us to correct the issues. I have asked for 20% of my money to be refunded so I can have another fence company fix his mistakes. I've already paid the repairs of my neighbors yards out of my own pocket.
