So, I had an appointment with Keith Stephenson today. I spoke to Laura or Lauren at the office and she gave me a roundabout time when he would stop by. I asked her to give me a 15 minute heads up before coming. Keith shows up at the project unannounced while I'm finishing the walk through with the building inspector. I ask him to wait 2 minutes so I can finish the walk through (we were already outside and I was saying bye). I say bye to the building inspector and start to look for Keith all over the building because he's no longer visible. Come to find out he just left. Poor communication. Poor service. Don't use this company If you're looking for professionalism. read more

They placed the sections of fence they installed over items (like firewood) I was using to block holes in the old fence. Lazy. If I hadn't been sick, I'd have just done the work myself. It appears their motto is "can't see it from my yard." read more

Awful experience. It seemed this was the first fence they had ever installed. They had to come back four times to fix mistakes...they put the hinges to an entrance gate on backwards, they made the gate open out instead of in, driveway gate wouldn't close properly, boards were crooked. One of the guys whipped out a hand saw and just started sawing the boards from the bottom to make them even. Terrible. And not cheap. Look elsewhere for a reliable, knowledgeable fence company. read more

Took 6 months to complete the job with numerous calls from me and missed dates. Fence was finally installed and they had the gall to send me a 90 days overdue invoice 4 days later for the balance. On top of that a gate did not close because they did not bother to dig out a dirt mound they created setting a post. Since it took so long to complete the job, this mound of dirt froze solid and the gate could not be closed for the winter. Use someone else, I learned my lesson. read more

Order a fence from these guys, and plan to wait. Also, they do mediocre work: They installed wheels on my fence; however, the bars that attach to the wheels are to0 small in circumferance, and thus as the fence is pushed to close, the bar bends--and this of course does not allow the wheels to roll in order to close the gate. read more

Sent an email for a fence repair in Barrington - received a prompt reply from a nice customer service lady at the store and she was honest in saying they do repairs but it costs $500 just to go to the site and that the repair could be done at a lower cost hiring a handyman (she mentioned they sold the materials for my fence if I needed it). She also pointed me to Angies List to see if a local handyman service might be able to do the work. Terrific customer service even if they didn't solve the fence problem for me - quick and honest response rather than wasting time with a quote that likely would be higher than market rate. I will recommend them for future fence work / materials (BTW, fence is still busted as most of the handyman services on Angies List are not as customer focused as Fence Depot)! read more

buyers beware!!! We hired them to install 72 ' feet of vinyl fence In September of 20017 and they end up 2" short at the end. The fence is designed to be installed 8' from center of post to center of post, which means 9 equal sections. they didn't take measurements along the way to make sure they were 8' on center. They took the last two sections down and tried to make up the difference which is impossible to do. there isn't enough adjustment in the fence to make up that much discrepancy. Their crew ended up forcing the last post over at the top and face screwed the rail to the post and put the post out of plumb by 1 1/4" . this post happened to be one of the gate post , which put one of gates out of plumb. The finish opening of the gate posts where too wide by an 1 1/2" which left gaps to the point you can not latch the gates. after a phone call to the office the owner didn't address these issues for two weeks and when he arrive and we went over the mistakes that were made by his incompetent crew , not once did he acknowledge the poor workmanship but actually implied because I was home during the install that I should of pick up on the mistakes. REALLY It took them an additional two months to finally come back to fix the mistake which was December and 20 degrees and I refused to have them pour cement that was going freeze. To make a long story short , the owner came over over without notice and took the gates and called it a day. Their workmanship is terrible, their communication is awful , and I were you, I would stay as far away from this co. as you can. read more

I had 27 section of stockade fence and 2 gates installed. The workers were at my home early and ready to work. They worked through the day in the rain to get the job done. When they were finished my wife and I could not have been happier. The 3 guys that came were personable and professional installers. I have already recommend Fence Depot to a friend. read more

"Yes, I'll take a punch in the face with that stockade fence please"! Stay away unless you want to be bullied and threatened by some big no neck goon that was manning the desk the day I visited this place. Found it online, went there and found a big lug sitting in the office concentrating on his breathing...it can be tricky remembering how. Anyway when I asked for the woman who I spoke with on the phone he said She'd be there in a few hours and I could wait. I declined and He was on the job. I knew what I wanted and he passed me the chewed up three ring binder with pictures and prices. ( I know this guy's life is dependent on "picture books.") After I wrote down some notes on prices I asked him about installation instructions as the woman I spoke with on the phone said they had them. He asked me if I wanted them to install the fence and I said I was interested in doing it myself. He became annoyed and said its easy, just put the post in the hole and cover it with dirt. I told him I didn't have any holes in my yard. He got more annoyed and as I walked over to the cork bulletin board with 100's of business cards of local fence installers, handymen, landscapers etc. and pulled a few off. He said "what are you doing"? I told him I was taking some cards, he grabbed the cards from my hand and looked them over and said " are you going to use him"? I said I had no idea, I don't know "Him". He started to "huff and puff" and by that time I knew there was no way in the world I buy buy anything from this company. I went to Penney Fence Co. in Londonderry, NH. Better price, much better quality, friendly helpful staff and no sales tax. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the Fence Depot unless you are a practicing MMA fighter. read more

I contacted the company, told the receptionist the issue I had with the fence that was installed, she was very rude and said that "we" must have done something to damage the fence. She also stated that someone would contact me regarding the problem. No one contacted me, instead 3 weeks later an employee showed up to look at it. By this time we decided to fix it ourselves. He didn't ring the bell to speak to the me, instead talked to the person who was installing my pool. Upon finding this out I called the company to voice my concerns with their lack of professionalism and asked to speak to the employee that came to look at my fence. Needless to say I am still waiting to speak to him. They aren't a company that stands by their work, had I known this I would've gone with another company. read more

Very unhappy. Ordered a fence to be installed around my vegetable garden and was told it would be done in last week of May or 1st week of June. Then I was promised 3 different days and they finally came on 3rd day but only installed the posts on June 13 and told me that the cement needed 2 days to cure. When I called 2 days later to find out when they would be back to install the fence, I was told they would let me know sometime the following week! Since I couldn't wait any longer to plant my garden, I told them to come back in the fall and I would just install chicken wire temporarily to keep animals out. To make matters worse, my irrigation system was removed and to be re-installed with the new fence. So now I not only had to install chicken wire, but now I have to put sprinklers and hoses in my garden. This has been much extra work for me when it was supposed to be a convenience. read more
