We were on our tour that brought us to the small hike to the lookout at this restaurant. The view is amazing. We weren't too hungry but we did snack on some fries they were couldn't complain about. They were very accommodating to the Americans asking to fill our water jugs with ice for our waters and quite friendly. Others we were with said the food was good. Should I ever happen to be in the area again I would give it another try. read more

Take the cable car up to the restaurant. Awesome views but unfortunately it was a bit fogged in the day we visited. Still a beautiful spot. Lots of hiking trails up there too to explore. Saw runners and mountain bikers. The trails were well maintained. Worth the trip to check it out. read more

I brought my wife here on our 4-year anniversary during a vacation in Switzerland (from Florida). First off I'll say any food would taste heavenly with these views. The ambiance really cannot be beat if you like nice views, and service is prompt, friendly, and professional. We got the classic fondue, added potatoes, and had the house Merlot. The cheese was the perfect consistency for coating the foods, had great flavor and spice, and the wine complemented it beautifully. Wonderful restaurant! I randomly found this restaurant on google maps and decided the view was a must and we had to go! It was about a 30 minute Uber drive from the Zurich city center. And it was worth it! The drive up the restaurant was beautiful! It was a little tough to find for our driver, his map wouldn't take us exactly to felsenegg, so we stopped at the restaurant Buchanegg and walked from there. I'm glad we did, because again, the views were phenomenal and the hike was a highlight of our trip. The hike was about 15 minutes, paved/gravel path, easy walk. The trip down the mountain was much easier. 1 minute walk, cable car down the mountain and 10 minute train back to city center. Easy to navigate. The tuna salad was great! Fresh ingredients and tasty. The sausage was good, especially with the mustard, bread and fries. I wish we would have planned more time to eat their apple strudel which looked incredible! read more

I've visited this place as part of a tour bundle I did as part of Viator. Basically the main allure here is the cable car ride up the mountain and then a park with a restaurant located up top. From up top, you get a nice view of lake Zurich, though don't expect to see much of old town, any of the bridges - its mostly provincial. The restaurant is decent, not at all gourmet dining - more of a fast casual atmosphere. Went here on a Thursday and found the place to be not entirely busy, with almost no queue to the cable car rides, unless you're with the tour group. read more

We moved here about a year ago and discovered this relaxing restaurant during one of our hikes along the Uetliberg trails. Felsenegg is south of Uetliberg, closer to Adliswil. You can hike there or take the charming gondola ride from the small town of Adliswil. We have now been several times and enjoy sharing this restaurant with our friends who never knew it existed. It has great views looking down onto Lake Zurich, and on clear days can easily see the Alps in the distance. They serve typically swiss/german cuisine with the standard raclette and fondue in the winter. But we love all their summer options as well. One of our favorites is the fried fish. Perfectly cooked, not too oily and soft tender white fish. They have so many great swiss dishes, it's hard to pick a favorite. Check it out! It's beautiful, inside and out! read more

This place has an awesome setting with a great view of Zurich and the lake. Our group arrived by cable car and had a short walk to the Restaurent. Our meal was a pre-selected one that included an array of traditional canapés outside on the patio ( that has the great panoramic view mentioned earlier). For mains we had a mixed salad followed by cheese fondu. It was a fun experience but had to call it a day after filling up on fondue coated brown bread cubes. A variety of options were available to finish off but given we were the last table to order in our large party , they had run out of apple strudel. The view is worth the visit and sure more options are available on the menu that would provide you with an authentic dining experience , fitting with the great surroundings. read more

Don't go here for food. I thought it would be a great idea to take the cable car up with my husband and eat at this restaurant....total ripoff. First, you need a travel card/pass that's worth a whole day: 20$ for both of us. Then the cable ride is cool. The hiking options, also cool. This restaurant: you might need a reservation if you go during a busy time. We ordered: a beer, glass of wine, and the fondue. Note: the menu states the fondue is 29.50, that's for one person....so for us two it was 69$ only for the fondue. It was a bowl of salty cheese that was barely edible. It tasted like a drunk guy vomited cheese into a bowl. It came with stale wheat bread. It was our worst experience in Switzerland....expensive even for Zurich standards. read more

Getting there is on its own a good reason to reward yourself with a good cheesy meal. It can get quite busy inside, but you can wait outside having a been and enjoying the splendid view, or on sunny days, stay outside to eat, it's a must ! The journey up to Felsenegg is the key reason to enjoy this restaurant. After hiking up or taking the gondola, you can enjoy beautiful views of Zurich, the lake and the Alps from their patio. However, be prepared for an expensive menu. Entrees are about 26 CHF. The much touted apple strudel with custard is 14 CHF. The apple strudel was delicious with a flakey crust and raisins, drowned in warm vanilla custard. Quick tip: unless you're prepared to pay for water (we were charged for tap water at 5 CHF per 750 ML. Bottled water is 6 CHF per 750 ML.), bring your own water to the restaurant. read more

I was both impressed by the panorama as well as the incredibly cold welcome as we came 5 minutes before the kitchen closed (hint: 5.30pm -- it was written nowhere).
