The workers is friendly ... always helpful ... the prices are reasonable... restaurant is very old but clean looking ... it is very small place Food I don't like ... I ordered nachos and it tasted so cheap to me ... I don't really like how taste .... I tried taste my mom steak plate I forgot what it is but doesn't taste good ... my family always have to add salt to flavor .. One thing my concern ... people who working and go outside and doing their thing and smoking from where we can smell it ... People who smoking can blocked from smell or flavor they cook that maybe why food taste so plain and cheap taste ... and maybe not wash their hands after smoking I don't know for sure ... When a strip mall delivers in grand fashion. Don't let the humble exterior fool you! Service was fast and attentive and the person who seated us friendly and humorous. Staff was on point and the food was delicious. Once seated, we received a generous basket of tortilla chips and a nice sized bowl of killer salsa. I had a chile rellano with a beef taco. Both were very flavorful. Beans and rice were spot on. I forgot to take a picture of our meals before we dug in but you get the gist. Hubby had his favorite go to, Cheese Enchiladas. He loved them. The atmosphere is wonderful and tastefully done with lots of cozy booths and walls covered in murals. We loved their fabulous assortment of giant velvet paintings which gave the interior a semi Spanish Revival feel with their black iron chairs and light fixtures. Cool place. I have been coming to Felipe's since I was a small child. One of my children is about to have a child, soooo ‍ That's a long time. The food speaks for itself, but I will still say the food is PHENOMENAL! Staff is always on point and they are great at their jobs. They know the menu, they get to know their customers and they keep the place clean. You get the same quality time and time again. It's not a hit or miss kind of place. You will always be happy and full when you leave. It's a place you can take someone on a first date and get to know one another, take your spouse for a nice bite to eat to just not have to cook and get super dressed up, take the kids too or you can celebrate a birthday, anniversary or anything in your life that matters.. the prices are right on time. They decorate for every season and every holiday. If you are a local or a repeat customer, chances are.. within a few visits they will know something about you and what you are going to order. I don't usually leave reviews, but this place had some of the worst service I've ever experienced. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were an inconvenience. The staff was rude, inattentive, and completely unorganized. We waited far too long just to be acknowledged, and when we finally got our food, it was cold and slapped together like no one cared. Drinks sat empty, no refills, and we had to flag someone down just to get the check. There are plenty of great Mexican restaurants out there, but sadly this is not one of them. Was not greeted as we walked in, let the two people at the front know that we were with the party already seated, they just nodded and let us go back to our table. A young kid came and took our drink orders, he was fairly nice, and brought everything out quickly. A different person took our food orders and was on our table the rest of the night, he appeared to be a manager. He was not so pleasant. He was just very cold, we had to wave him down for refills and our check, and we appeared to be his only table as he spent the rest of his time talking to other staff at the kitchen. The food was fine, the plates were all very hot, but the food was just lukewarm. The food overall was just not very flavorful, and the meat was all very dry and tough. The restaurant itself was beautiful, and was very clean and well kept. This could've just been our experience tonight, but for these reasons, we will probably just stick to our favorites. read more

Family lunch at Felipe's is a good idea. One of the best chimichangas I've had in a while with a delicious cheese pull! Complementary chips and salsa, which seems to be more and more rare these days. I was a little disappointed that the chicken chimichanga was a dollar extra compared to the beef. Usually it's the other way around. Everyone enjoyed their food but two more things were also disappointing. We had 5 people in our party and we were placed in a tiny booth with a chair on the end. Not sure why they don't have bigger tables. Lastly, wait if you have to use the restroom. It had the most outrageous smell, cinnamon and poop. Yucky is an understatement. read more

Chips and drinks were delivered right away and after all the orders were taken, the Meals came out all together and with no mistakes. It was perfect. This used to be our go to Mexican restaurant. Loyal for 10+ years We even stuck with them through covid so they wouldn't go out do business. Then they decided to drastically raise prices and charge for every little thing. I understand costs are increasing everywhere but my normal order going from $13 to $19 was wild but we tried to stay loyal until our last visit when we asked for some extra flour tortillas for our meal and they charged us $1 per tortilla... no it just seems like they don't care and penny pinch anywhere they can. Been going. to Felipe's for years(at least 25)... My friend that lives in Oklahoma that used to live here always has to go there when she comes to visit. Always had such great food, great service and the best ever chicken tacos... Good prices... Last time we went, we had fast Service but prices have gone up for what we got, and I didn't think the waiter was too friendly... The place interior wise Seemed dirty and dingy... Food just so so. I guess I'm on the hunt for another Mexican restaurant. This was my go to for Mexican. But went last night and the services was the worst I've seen. It's been going down hill for awhile. But I was hoping that it would change. We got seated at the same time as another couple. But their order was taken and food served before we were acknowledge sitting there. I guess the server of the other table wasn't ours. Still don't know who our server was. But you would think someone would at least acknowledge you for sitting there. I guess they where very. Any time I move to a new city as a travel nurse, I'm on the hunt for a new delicious Mexican spot. This place was an instant winner. It has a comforting, homey feel to it. I wasn't thrilled with the tacos but only because I prefer a less American type taco but this place had THE BEST carnitas. They were DELICIOUS. Our waitress was super sweet and gave us her suggestions: the carnitas plate and enchiladas. I've come back 3 times in the last month for the carnitas.. The soups are also delicious! This restaurant used to be so good 20-25 years ago. It used to be packed at lunch every single day. Well today we went in and I ordered the same thing I always got and it was terrible. There was no salt in any of their food. And no flavor either. My husband got a chili relleno and he told me it tasted like cafeteria food. I've frequented Felipe's over the years and it's been consistent. I went in as a solo diner on a Friday evening and was seated quickly, with chips, salsa and a soda asap. Good start! But then it's like my section was forgotten about, with tables unattended and folks flagging down a server who wasn't overly busy. Lots of smiles and recognition I was there from employees, but after 10 minutes of being passed by the server (with nothing in his hands and no orders to grab) I got up and left. The Food was not good at all... My mom and I came into town for a country music festival and decided to give this place a try. & mind you we're from Riverside, California. We know bomb ass Mexican food places and this place was not it... I don't like to write bad reviews but the food tasted like it was microwaved and the food came out VERY Fast. The flautas were not good, the meat was cold inside and had no flavor. The shell was hard and burnt. Might as well lose a tooth. The so called carne asada was not seasoned at all and it looked like a flat iron was used on it. The rice was dry and the beans tasted like overnight refried beans... wasn't much flavor at all for the food items we got. The chips although dark brown and the salsa were okay.
