My mother came to visit me in the mountains. She was totally confident that her cats needs would be met. Sorry to say that was not the case. She went to pick up her cat early a day or two and was met with a stinky dirty feces laden senior cat. Not only had she been ignored but she had only moved to poop all over herself. She is a senior cat used to one person. I grant you she's not overly friendly but there's no excuse for neglect like this. She was so uncomfortable with caked on feces and pee that my mother was heartbroken. A senior with a senior cat needs to know her pets in a safe place. This is NOT that place. Made an appointment for my cat to be groomed and nail's trimmed. Explained, in detail, that my cat was a handful, when making the appointment and upon arrival at the business. I asked if i could go back with her and was told no, they could handle it. The groomer came and got her in the carrier and took her back, and banged her into the wall. First sign of what was to come next. Less than a minute later my cat came running down the hall towards the waiting area. The groomer followed after her saying it was not going to work as she was agitated. Likely exaggerated by his banging her carrier into the wall moments before. I drove an hour round trip for this joke of a service that lasted less than two minutes. I will not be back as these folks are not pet professionals. Be forewarned. read more

I cannot even find all the words to describe how satisfied I was with Adam and his team at Feline Fabulous. I was BEYOND nervous to board my two 5 year old cats. They have never been boarded before. I work at home so am with them pretty much 24 hours a day. My normal cat sitter was on vacation at the same time as me - so I was in a bind to find a place for them to board. I am so happy that I chose Feline Fabulous - and pretty certain D.W. and Sybil are as well! Adam took the time to walk me thru the facility upon arrival, went over all the questions I had, and got to know Sybil and D.W. before I left. I booked the penthouse room in the front of the building. Great space for my kitties to spend 2 weeks. The room had multiple cat towers, beds, toys and two windows out onto Central so they could watch "TV". Their cat condos are also fantastic. Plenty of room for your cats to relax, stretch out and even play. They are like mini suites! So much more space than your standard boarding space. You can absolutely tell that Adam is truly dedicated to providing the best care for your kitties. Adam and his team give your cats personal attention - getting to know them, playing with them, spending time with them and making them feel safe and "at home" at Feline Fabulous. He stayed in touch with me during the 2 weeks - sending me pictures and updates. I felt completely at ease on vacation knowing that my kitties were in a safe and caring place. I think Adam is magic. I thought for sure my Maine coon cat would have to be completely shaved to get some matted knots out of her fur. She's struggled with having them under her tail in the last but recently they were in her sides also and I was worried they were getting too close to her skin. I've tried to brush them out myself and she was not having it, so I finally caved and made her an appointment. Turns out he was able to brush most of them out, without a full bath etc. and she was out in 10 minutes! I can tell she feels so much better already and I would definitely return here if and when she gets knotted again. Highly recommended! My cat gets pretty fractious after being in a closed space for a long period. I've had to drop him off earlier than his appointment time three times now. They never seem phased by his behavior and tell me I don't need to apologize. (But I do, lol) After the full coat grooming, my cat comes back smelling sooo good (I literally just hold and sniff him for the following days), his nails trimmed to a good length and fur so soft. Being this is the only place in Charlotte that provides cat grooming, Feline Fabulous is exactly what they claim to be... FABULOUS. The pricing is more then fair and the staff is great and make every visit very personal when talking to you about your kitty and how to better take care of them once you leave. My first experience with "FF" I booked what I thought was the best treatment for my cat which was full groom (included a bath and books for 3 hours so they can give your cat a day at the spa) within 20 minutes I received a call and they explained to me that they can not do the bath because my cat was terrified and they do not want to put her through any unnecessary stress and knowing that a lot of cats do in fact enjoy bath when done right I fully trusted "FF" when they made the call to not move forward with the bath. The only downside is the lobby definitely needs a refresher, other than that I can not recommend Feline Fabulous enough but don't take my word for it just look at the photo I uploaded and see how beautiful my kitties coat looks. They even went out and bought different food for Waffle when he was not eating their food. My cat is skiddish and shy. They handle him so well and moved his boarding room based off his needs. Would recommend Feline Fabulous to everyone! I have been coming to them for years and they do a great job every time. I normally go with the lion cut for my older cat and decided to go with a bath and underbelly shave for my younger cat since this was his first time and I know he can be a lot to handle. I was especially impressed with them this last visit because even though my younger cat can be very difficult to handle (he squirms/wiggles and wants nothing to do with getting brushed or groomed) they were able to bathe, brush, and shave his under belly without any complaints! All day I was nervous about getting the "your cat is insane we can't handle him" call but instead was told he was welcome back anytime. Both smell and look fabulous. Not to bash on other reviewers but the negative one star review they received about the reviewers horrible experience with the lion cut obviously did not understand what a lion cut was before agreeing to it. About 9 months ago, I found a cat wandering the streets of my neighborhood. She was scrawny, walked with a limp, and had been partially shaved. My boyfriend and I took her home with the intent to rehabilitate her and find her a permanent home. Nine months later, I find myself at Feline Fabulous, shelling out $100 to have this little kitty, who is now known as Dr. Jean Grey, groomed. Obviously, that whole "find her a permanent home" bit did not go as planned. Not only does she officially belong to us, but she had worked her way into my heart and turned my info a bonafide cat lady. I was so nervous leaving her with the staff, trying to rattle off all her little quirks and habits ("she has a limp and walks slowly; she can't jump so make sure her food is ground level; she loves to cuddle so if you want to let her sit in your lap, that's fine; she only eats this exact brand of wet food I brought with me, one to two spoonfuls at the most" -- the list goes on and on). As I walked out the door, way more panicked than a person should be in this situation, listening to Dr. Jean Grey's pitiful mewling which I swear translated to "WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME!?" I couldn't help but wonder if this was really for the best. The short answer is yes; she's a long haired cat and I did a poor job of keeping her fur in check as it grew back out. It was to the point that professional intervention was necessary. The long answer is yes and I could not have made a better choice than Feline Fabulous. The guy who helped check her in went through the the details of services and showed me the facilities. He assured me that if their clients (aka "the cats") become distressed during the process, they simply stop, rather than traumatized the animal. He promised to call within a few hours to let me know she was good to go. True to his word, I got the phone call right on time. When I arrived back at the location, I walk in and say to a new face, a girl, "I'm here to pick up my ---" and notice little Dr. Jean Grey snuggled in the girl's lap, purring so loudly I could hear her across the counter. Dr. Jean Grey is such an easy going, sweet cat, so I wasn't surprised to see her content on the girl's lap. I was surprised to see her receiving so much love, when they could just as easily have placed her in a kennel until I arrived. They gave me the rundown of what happened, the highlights and lowlights, and gave me some pointers to keep her looking good in between visits. And then, as if they knew the inner workings of my cat lady heart, they presented me with a small photo album of the process. I tried to show less enthusiasm than I was feeling, for fear of seeming straight up nuts, but on the inside I was squealing with excitement. On top of all that, Dr. Jean Grey looked and felt AMAZING. Her fur was soft and free of knits, letting her was like petting a purring ball of fluffy heaven. Now that I have written what is officially my wordiest Yelp review ever, ABOUT MY CAT, MIND YOU, I will get to the point: I cannot recommend Feline Fabulous enough. I don't know how their rates compare to other locations, but given my absurd level of devotion to my cat, and the results of their services, I feel the rates are more than fair. All I can say is "Thank God for Carmen and Feline Fabulous!!!". I have an indoor/outdoor cat. Last month, I was was going to New York for a week and had no idea where I could board Tommy. A traditional veterinarian's office in a little tiny cage was NOT an option - my cat would mentally crack if he was stuck in a cage or crate all day. He NEEDS people and stimuli. Having a pet sitter come in was also not an option as Tommy has a specific routine of being outdoors for a couple in the morning, sleeps in the house during the day, then is is let out for a couple hours in the evening before he's called in to sleep for the night (he plays hard and sleeps hard). I was seriously considering cancelling my trip, when I happened to check Yelp for "cat boarding" in Charlotte. As soon as I looked at the Feline Fabulous website, I strongly felt I'd found my answer. Carmen was WONDERFUL. I went to Feline Fabulous to check it out before the day I would be leaving my cat. Carmen showed me around, I saw where Tommy would be sleeping (a "kitty condo") and saw the playroom where he would get to run, play with toys and look out the window. The business was neat and tidy. She had soothing music in the condo area. What I like is that, even if she is at full capacity, she has deliberately kept the number of cats she'll house to a minimum so she can give quality, individual attention to each cat. An added bonus is she has a complete grooming facility as well and she is extremely educated in grooming and feline care. She also knows pet CPR (which was very reassuring). The day I brought Tommy, Carmen treated him like a king. He was instantly comfortable and had to investigate everything. I knew he would be absolutely fine and safe. While I was on my trip I called to get Tommy-updates, and Carmen described what Tommy was doing, what toys he was playing with, etc. It made my trip SO much better, not worrying about him, knowing he was safe. I ABSOLUTELY recommend Feline Fabulous. This opens up my travel world and will enable me to be able to take more frequent weekend getaways and such. Regarding price - the Feline Fabulous nightly rate is more than fair. It was actually LESS than boarding at a vets or other establishment, PLUS those other places don't have everything designed with the comfort and psychology of cats in mind AND they don't have a Carmen. I could go on and on and cannot say enough how grateful I am and how good Tommy's (and my) experience was. In fact, he wasn't in any hurry to leave when I went to pick him up (a little insulting to me, haha, but shows how comfortable he was there!). read more

You will be hard pressed to find someone who cares about cats more than Carmen Craig, the owner and operator of Feline Fabulous. Not only does she love cats, but being a Certified Master Feline Groomer (or as she puts it "having her Masters in kitty cats"), she knows what the heck she's doing. We brought the furrbaby in for a grooming, which included a nail trim, cleaning and deshed treatment. I dropped him off in the morning and when I picked him up after work he was clean, happy and napping comfortably in one of the several condos she has for boarding. (Connected condos are available for boarding multiple cats at a time.) The whole deal ran me $55 plus tip (expect an extra $10 if you have a long haired kitty friend) and I don't hesitate to call it money well spent. Not only am I satisfied with the services provided but I was happy to be able to leave him with someone who obviously cares about what she does. Dogs have long been the pet ruling class among Charlotte's specialty pet stores. I am glad that Feline Fabulous has given Plaza Midwood a place where the cat can be king. read more

First time cat owner here! I wasn't sure what to do about my new cat's mats. She's a big, beautiful long-haired Maine coon, and I had recently adopted her. She was a little depressed and very timid up until recently, so I'm also very careful about who comes around her. I wanted to take her somewhere that was quiet and exclusive to cats. I brought her to Adam, and she immediately let him handle her. I was shocked. I was thinking she would need a lion cut, but after looking her over, Adam felt like she didn't need it. I'm definitely glad he gave me a recommendation. He ended up giving her a bath, trimming nails, shaving her butt and tummy areas, and cleaning her ears. The price of the services was definitely VERY reasonable for this 15-20lb cat. She smells like fabric softener... so delightful and you can tell she's really excited and happy with herself. I realized I had nothing to worry about. She surprised me at how well she handled what I thought would be a traumatic experience. My cat is skittish, especially in a new environment without me, which I thoroughly explained to the groomers. A few minutes into our appointment, I received an angry phone call stating my cat wasn't able to be groomed. I feel as if she was not taken care of compared to the level of care Feline Fabulous was supposed to provide. I also feel as if the attitude of the groomer was unprofessional and rude. Instead of explaining what could be done to get her groomed/giving us some options, my cat was treated like a little criminal and we were dismissed. Terrible, terrible, terrible. My cat has been going to another groomer for years and I decided I wanted to go somewhere closer to home, bad decision. My kitty usually gets a basic lion cut. He came home with NO mane (shaved all the way up to the back of his head), his legs haven't been shaved at all. His body hair is COMPLETELY gone, almost hairless. Please spare you're sweet kitty and do not ever go here. They didn't give him a bath, but still charged me full price. They were also in a hurry for me to get back to pick my cat up so they could leave for the weekend (I was only gone for 45 minutes). I got home and got my cat out of his cat carrier and wanted to cry. I felt so bad for him. And apparently the owner will call and leave a nasty voicemail if you leave bad reviews(as noted below on recent reviews). If you care about your cat, do NOT go to this place. read more

I wanted to get my cats shaved because I am tired of all of the cat hair. When I spoke with FF - the guy was super helpful and explained to me why the lion cut was the best option for what I wanted. He also advised me that my cats might not recognize themselves despite being from the same litter and having been together since birth. I took 2 carriers. When I got home and let them out - he was right. One of my cats clearly didn't recognize his brother. It' been a little over a week and I LOVE IT! I am not covered in cat hair, I don't have to do the daily maintenance and I actually like the lion cut. I've already scheduled to have them groomed again in a few months. I have never boarded my cat, Boo, before. He is an indoor/outdoor cat, and is spoiled rotten! He is a bit of a finicky eater, but is the most loving, social cat I have ever seen. When I talked with Carmen on the phone, I was immediately at ease. The questions on the paperwork told me that she and her staff were concerned and aware of every aspect of Boo's personality. When I dropped him off, I again felt at ease and the whole place just had a nice, pleasant vibe. Boo did great! When we picked him up, he rolled around in his condo, showing off! He was content and happy - didn't seem stressed out in the least! I have the distinct feeling that everyone at Feline Fabulous treated Boo as if he were their own kitty. I have been on Yelp for several years and have never written a review, but I feel so strongly about my positive experience at Feline Fabulous that I want everyone to know. Carmen is truly, truly fantastic. She spent a good 30+minutes with me both when I picked up and dropped off my cats. They had wonderful time climbing the tree in the playroom every day and came home happy and relaxed after their first time being away. *I* was 10x more relaxed on my trip knowing that the cats were not in a cramped cage, were engaged and having lots of human interaction, and could play with each other just like at home. As a registered veterinary technician I have very high standards when it comes to the care of my fur babies. I was no longer able to trim my cats nails on my own and he had become so defensive at the veterinarians office to the point where none of my coworkers would help with trimming his nails. I wasn't sure what I was going to do! But then I found Feline Fabulous! He has been twice now and they are cat whisperers for sure! I warned them that he could be difficult and of course he was a perfect gentleman with them! I have never seen a nail trim quicker and he doesn't scream like he used to at the vet! I boarded my four cats with Carmen and I was really nervous about leaving them since they had never been boarded before. I don't know why I worried for why I did not bring the cats to her sooner.
