It's an old-school, personal kind of care that you just don't experience very often anymore. Dr. Miller and his wife were both incredibly kind, warm, + genuine. They took the time to actually get to know me, asking about me and my background, and I never once felt rushed. You can immediately tell that they truly care about the people who walk through their door. Dr. Miller was extremely thorough and knowledgeable. Before seeing him, I had been to CityMD twice and had also gone to the ER. I had been prescribed antibiotics and then steroids, but I still wasn't feeling better and didn't really feel like anyone had gotten to the bottom of what was going on. Within a quick examination, Dr Miller identified that I had post nasal drip and then took the time to go through everything with me...my symptoms, the medications I had been taking, what I had been eating, and what could potentially be causing the hives I originally came to see him for. What stood out to me most was that he genuinely wanted to figure out what was going on rather than simply prescribe me something and send me on my way. He explained everything, answered my questions, and made me feel completely comfortable and reassured throughout the entire visit. It has only been about a week since my appointment, and I'm so happy to say my hives have gone away and I'm feeling so much better. There is something so wholesome and special about this practice. It reminded me of the kind of personal, attentive care that feels increasingly rare nowadays. Dr. Miller and his wife are genuinely lovely people, and I am so grateful I found them!! Dr. Miller is very personable, but a very chatty, so expect to be there for a couple of hours, and to wait if you're not the first appointment of the day. For my first appointment, I was there from 8pm to 11pm! This practice is cash only, and SAVE YOUR RECEIPTS. I just got a letter saying they are sending my "overdue payment" to collections, when I know for a FACT that I paid, since I never, ever leave anywhere owing money ... and never received a bill before the 2 letters I received. I chose the practice b/c my FIL has been seeing Dr. Waqaas A. Quraishi for ESIs for many years. During our first consultation, he spoke only to my husband while ignoring me. During that visit, I told him there was only one pain med I couldn't take because it made me so ill I couldn't eat, and it made me suicidal. After the first injection, I went to my CVS and found that he had prescribed that exact med. I called the office and was told there is no note about it in the file. He changed it to Gabapentin but was doling them out 14 at a time for me to take at bedtime. After the second injection, I called and left messages for Kathleen, his chirpy assistant who said, " Here's my direct line, call me anytime" for three days in a row. Crickets. On the fourth day, I called the receptionist and told her that if it was not taken care of immediately, I would show up in the waiting room and make a scene. Twenty minutes later, I got a call that it was done. When I found a new pain management doctor yesterday, he immediately diagnosed bursitis in my hip and offered to do the procedure then and there. I asked him about refilling my Gabapentin, he said, "Sure. Three times a day, right?" I was stunned that I could take it during the day as needed.

Before I paid the fee, I called my health insurer, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), and a representative explained that Island Digestive Health Center had a legal right to charge an advanced fee and that $250 is what BCBS charges for removal and that BCBS cannot interfere with Island DIgestive's policies. The gastroenterologist, Dr. Subramani; the anesthesiologist, Dr Su; and the registered nurses were thorough and professional. Fortunately, I had no polyps, so I am now waiting to be reimbursed. I am not coming here again because of the imposed out of pocket fee. In 2021, I had a colonoscopy done at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jeff, and I did not have to pay anything. I am considering going back there for my next colonoscopy.
