Swimming Lessons

I could not say more amazing things about Alyssa and her business! She's been teaching my 4 year old how to swim for two summers now. Honestly, I'm amazed how quickly Alyssa got her comfortable in the water as a toddler and now at 4, swimming the entire length of our pool. Alyssa is now working with our 1 year old daughter and she's catching on quickly just like her big sister. Alyssa is extremely flexible. She'll work with your schedule. She's punctual, professional and so good at what she does! She genuinely loves my kids too. She gets to know them and respect them as little humans but is also stern with them when she needs to be which I appreciate. She makes sure the girls understand safety around and in the pool as well which I love! She always gives out stickers for a good session too which just shows how much she thinks about the kids ;)

Ms Alyssa is patient and loving and has great skills that help any person, big or small, become a great swimmer.

Three weeks ago we approached the front desk to seek help in identifying a class as one of my sons was moved up to the next level. The girl (this one likely in her 20's) was sitting on the counter, playing on her phone, and it wasn't until my husband asked "could we get some help please" that she finally got off of her phone. Today, my son's mini class was being taught by two 'coaches' during one of the exercises, they turned their backs to the parents and kids and chit-chatted. Once again, my husband piped up and said, "is this all we are going to do today?" , they resumed their conversation before engaging back with the class. Needless to say, this behavior is incredibly dangerous when it comes to kids in the water and it is completely disrespectful to parents who are paying good money to get 'lessons'. It got to the point that my husband took my child out of the pool mid-lesson with no acknowledgment from the coaches. Given the behavior demonstrated over these past few weeks, we will be moving to another establishment for lessons. It is a shame that because of their 30-day cancellation policy, that we are having to pay another month's worth of classes that we will not be using based on the reckless, dangerous, and disrespectful service our family has been subjected to to. Please, please, please do your homework before signing your little one up for classes.

During this situation I was sitting in the room and had to scream "he's under the water" repeatedly in order for them to notice he had gone under. The lifeguard was not actively scanning the room or even standing, he was sitting talking to co-workers. After this situation we brought my son to the emergency room and luckily he was okay but when we addressed the issue with Goldfish via email they gaslit us and were dismissive of the situation. They claimed they had done nothing wrong and that I was merely an "anxious" parent. They refuse to respond to our email or send us video footage of the situation. Do not bring your child here under any circumstances.

The one thing this place has locked down is ORGANIZATION. The place is huge and has a lot of…read moreswimmers. Although it looks chaotic, they have a great system to keep things under control. The front desk has two people working, so even if one is on the phone, you are greeted by another member. Everyone I have encountered have been so friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Once you are signed up, they give your child a color specific wrist band, so the instructors and staff members know where to direct them. All the instructors have customized shirts with names on the back, which is super helpful to me because I can't remember faces as quickly. They don't make it a point where they speak with you after every swim lesson to give feedback on your child. However, towards the end of the week session or however long you signed up for, you are allowed to go to the other side of the pool and watch your child and then you can ask and/or discuss whatever you want. When I signed my son up, he was in for an "intense" weeklong session where he went every day for 2 weeks for 30 minutes a day. He started off as a "guppy". He did the session with 2-3 other kids, so technically I was paying for only 10 minutes of swim time. However, it was still worth it because he was young, and I think seeing other kids swim helps comfort him and gave him confidence. He cried on the first day, BUT his instructor, Miss Mary Lou was super sweet and was able to calm him down. At the end of the session, he was all smiles and couldn't wait to come back. When I signed up, my son got a shirt and a booklet. That booklet is super cute and helpful! It's a fun comic for the kid, but it also tells me what to expect because they basically explained everything in there. I'm telling you, their organization is great. They thought of everything! After the guppy session, he was advanced to the next level: goldfish. We transitioned to him swimming 1 day a week with other kids again. However, when private lessons popped up, we switched. I highly recommend private 1 on 1 sessions because you get the whole 30 minutes. The instructors do teach the entire 30 minutes and never stop a minute early, which is nice. You can rest assure you're paying for the entire time. I like the private sessions because I feel like my son was able to learn more. Mr. Luke was his private instructor, and he was awesome. He pushed him, which I appreciated. Of course, when my son showed signs of fatigue or was overwhelmed, I saw Mr. Luke adjusted his methods a bit, but he didn't "baby" him. The place has lots of changing rooms and a huge shower room for the kids. There is also lots of places for parents to sit and watch their child. Although a lot of people come and go, it doesn't feel overly crowded or claustrophobic. When your child passes the float test, they have a super cute tradition where the child gets to place their handprint anywhere on the wall and write their name. It just makes the child's experience more special and memorable. Overall, I highly recommend this place! This was a great place for my son to start off learning how to swim.

My toddler was having a very hard time with being in the water without her mom. Nina was kind, very loving and patient with a screaming child. We're 4 lessons in and now my younger daughter happily walks to her teacher. Nina adjusted her lesson to accommodate my children's needs. Overall we couldn't be happier and highly recommend you start your swim lessons here!

Instantly when I started taking classes at Facet Seven I appreciated the community and friendliness at the front desk, members, and the instructors as well. I mainly take Stefani's barre, yoga, and ABC class but also have enjoyed HIIT and strengthcon with Emma. Stefani is a bright light and makes working out so fun but also challenging. Emma similarly looks to challenge but is also motivating and provided me modifications when needed with an injury, looking out for me when I didn't realize I could re-injure something without even knowing. The gym has a variety of equipment but is on the smaller side, so it's easier to see and get to know regulars in your class but also meet new people. Highly recommend!
