Stopped by here while in town for business. The owner is supercool guy, helpful and will spin each record for you. I was looking for 80's disco (flirts, chapter one, dharma, trilogy) but that selection is not their sweet spot. If you're looking for 80/90 house then this is the place for you. Some good selection of general 80s music as well to include funk and rap. I do like that for the most part all the records are in alphabetical order vs. just digging through 1000+ records. He has some rare memorabilia/records as well that you might find interesting like a rare cover print of N.W.A.! I picked up 4 records for 10 bucks and got 10% discount because I was a first time shopper. Records were in really good shape as well. Awesome little record store downtown. The owner is super friendly and eagerly answered all my questions. I wish he had more techno, but he was kind enough to give me a list of all the record shops in San Diego and highlighted a few which catered more towards electronic music. He still has a decent collection though. I bought some sweet acid house for $5 and my friend purchased a book by Justin Pearson. This is definitely a shop you should check out. read more

If you've ever been to a record store where the clerks are jerks, this is the opposite of that place. Super friendly helpful awesome gem of a shop! Great selection for such a small footprint. FeeLit has a great selection of music, and I was super excited with my purchase of cassettes, but when I tried them out only 2 out of the 5 cassettes worked. The three that didn't work were old cassettes, so it makes sense that they weren't in the best condition. Overall, it was a good experience hitting up a local music shop. read more

New to town and thought I would give this shop a try. Have been twice and now know it is my record shop. Mark is awesome and quite helpful. He went way out of his way to help me piece together a system from some of his friends and clients components. He took the time to educate me on the equipment and how to care for it all. Best place for hip hop records I've been to in sd. There prices are awesome, and there selection is great. Every time I go there I walk out with at least 12 records. Staff is super helpful and extremely knowledgeable. I will continue to drive from San Marcos to San Diego to buy from them. read more

I was in town for a conference and looked up all of the nearby record stores. FeeLit was my first stop. Great place. Good variety of records and other cool stuff. The guy working that evening was the best. Showed me around the store, put some of my selections on the store stereo and made sure all of my choices were cleaned before I left. The vinyls were already in excellent shape, but I appreciate him making sure they were as clean as they could be and he even set me up with a media mailer to make sure they got home safely. Ended up with about five used vinyls and one new release. Good prices on all. Great store and excellent customer service. Also tried Record City and Taang Records. Record City was ok. Plenty to choose from, but left empty handed. Taang was a waste of time. Apparently, Taang really likes their records because none were priced to sell. If you are in town and staying in the Gaslamp district, just walk on over to FeeLit and get your vinyl fix. read more

Visited on my birthday for the first time and enjoyed my visit! A small store with lots of selections and definitely a dig! Prices are relatively a bit higher priced but the sales are great! There's also a large selection of free vinyl and music! First time customers get 10% off and the owner (I'm assuming) gave me a free tape for my birthday! Really appreciate it thank you! read more

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the owner of the store Mark who gave me a run-down of where everything was kept. He told me that if I had any questions to just ask. He even offered to play anything that I was interested in. He was engaging in conversation and even played records from local bands for me. I told him I was from the SF Bay Area and that I used to work at record stores myself. He had heard of both places! The owner is extremely knowledgable about the music business both local and worldwide. If you are in San Diego you HAVE to stop in to this great little shop! Prices are very reasonable! It may have made my wallet a little poorer, but it made my ears a lot richer!!! Great store! read more

Have been multiple times. Very cool store, however, the "coolness" of the store does not make up for the lack of help and lack of friendliness from the folks who work there. Will stay in Hillcrest for the music vibe in SD. read more

Extremely friendly owner and fair priced. Has re-issues as well as original press stuff. He also had new and old stuff ranging from punk to rock, hip hop to reggae, and electronic to break beat. So pretty they have pretty much everything for being such a small space. I highly recommend this store, especially if you are from the LA area like myself. read more

Great hidden gem of a record shop in an area that is lacking anywhere to purchase music. The owner is always very helpful and willing to take the time to help you find what you're looking and maybe what you didn't know you wanted.
