FedEx regularly holds our packages at their warehouse in Stratford for weeks before delivery, including our two day deliveries. Sometimes we give up and reorder. We are currently trying to track down a package that arrived in Stratford two weeks ago. We are less than 40 minutes away in New Haven. This is a very unprofessional company. Terrible drivers and Terrible customer service. Waited all day for a delivery, actively watching the updates and map diligently for hours just to have the driver cruise past my house. She never made an attempt to stop, but seconds later after driving away I get an email saying "Sorry we missed you." Instead of uploading a photo of the door tag that wasn't left because the driver didn't even come to my door where I was waiting patiently, she uploaded a rubbish blacked out photo instead. Absolutely pathetic. I will never order anything if being shipped from FedEx ever again. Delivery was scheduled for Friday. My wife and I sat in literally all day with an eye out the front window. No truck ever came, no delivery attempt made. Status was updated around 5:30 to "delivery attempt made." Simply not true. Spoke with FOUR different customer service representatives online and on the phone, most of whom were utterly incompetent. First I was told that my address had a vacation hold (not true), another told me the package never went out and was "being inspected" (also not true), another couldn't answer my question and sent me to someone who simply said "the driver has gone home so we don't know why they didn't leave the package." They arranged with the Stratford station for a hold to be placed on the package so that I could pick it up myself the next day between 8am and 10am, which I hoped would solve my problems. But it's FedEx! They'll always find a way to make things worse. Woke up the next morning to find a status update saying the package was loaded on a truck at 4:30am and was out for delivery. Called yet again and spoke to yet another completely incompetent representative who could only read what the status was on the screen. Asked him to get in touch with the Stratford station, and he said they didn't pick up and that they only open at 10am, which you may recall is after my pick up time. The worst delivery service in the USA. Not the first time this facility delivered an order of over $200 worth of pet food from Chewey at the bottom of our driveway late at night. This was on a Sunday night and usually we are at home but luckily we were out at a Christmas party and found two huge boxes by the side of the road where they could have easily been stolen or ruined by the weather. That night it rained heavily and we would have not realized that the delivery had been made until the next day. Just to note that our 600' blacktop driveway was clear of ice and snow and there was no reason why the FEDEX driver could not have made a door to door delivery. This facility consistently delivers packages to the wrong house. Drivers do not pay attention to the address numbers on the neighboring houses resulting in delays of delivery. Other delivery companies such as UPS, USPS or Amazon do not seem to have this problem. Can only assume that FedEx drivers are lazy or poorly trained. Worlds worst package delivery service, where no one seems to be accountable at this station in STRATFORD. They leave the wrong packages here, have totally lost shipments, delivery people who can't be bothered to knock and deliver. They have left packages in the front yard by the street where anyone could take them, in a snowbank and at other addresses. The management doesn't want to talk to anyone, hang up quickly when calling back. No accountability, and the 1-800 number is useless. Nothing is ever done. And they don't deliver on weekends so if they fail to deliver (the usual) you have to wait until the following week. I trust the postal service, not these idiots. read more

Every day I am assured these will be delivered only for the day to end and get another message that these are rescheduled. You can't speak with a person, there is no management available. My package said it was in Stratford "on the delivery truck" since 5 AM and would be delivered to the Walgreens pick-up by the end of the day. I should hope so, if they started at 5 in the morning. I went to Walgreens after I got out of work at 7 in the evening. They didn't have my package. I ordered a new mattress on Monday, the company I ordered from estimated it would be delivered between Wednesday & Friday but tracking information was available so I can see exactly where it was. Every day it was updated & in a new location, getting closer & closer to me. Until Wednesday, it arrived to the FedEx location in Stratford where it sat for 3 days. I can understand Wednesday, we had a storm and many out of power. However, every day the update by fedex was that it would be delivered by end of day. So I took off from work so I can be home & wait for my mattress, each day from Wednesday-Friday, just for the update to change to "pending" after 8pm and no mattress delivered. Finally on Saturday morning around 10:30, I was actually by my kitchen window baking, when I saw the fedex truck. I got super excited and sent my boyfriend out to get the mattress. I literally saw the delivery guy take my box to another condo unit and so my boyfriend asked him if there were any other packages, he said no. My boyfriend came back inside telling me the news. There's no way someone else in this area also ordered a puffy mattress to be delivered on the same day so I sent my boyfriend out to check the name on the box. Sure enough, it was my mattress!! It looked like during transit, the letter of my condo was smudged to look like an I instead of an E. But you can clearly see that was the case, the delivery guy should've looked in the records properly to find the correct unit. Had I not been home, the box would've been left at someone else's home & if they wanted to steal & keep it, they could have! Almost $1,000 mattress, gone because of an idiot delivery guy. Never again do I want to go through fedex. I will personally write delivery instructions when ordering products to choose another carrier, I would even be willing to pay extra. And it's probably not even fedex as a whole because up until it got to Stratford it was getting here very quickly. Seems like the Stratford location is just incompetent. Twice in one week, the Monday delivery driver in East Rock (New Haven) has made no attempt to deliver packages (two separate packages one week apart), yet the online tracker says an attempt was made and the customer was not available. Well, I work from home, so...I was home. No knock. No ring. No doortag. Twice in one week. When I call customer service, I'm told it will be delivered the next day. Fedex has terrible reliability and horrible customer service. Normally use usps or ups and never have an issue. Package is always on front porch when it is supposed to be. Fedex?? Only had two packages delivered by them in the past 5 years. Both times, I receive emails stating that the address provided is incomplete and they could not deliver. Seriously? The exact same address that other delivery companies have no problem finding. A single family home clearly marked on a clearly marked road. I call their customer service number and get a disinterested agent that is completely useless. They ask for directions so that their drivers can find my house. Ummm, really?! i have no issue with this location, but the location that does the shipping, I believe its 985 lordship is terrible. Well, I can't speak for all, but my delivery guy is the worst! I have complained a few times, but after I complained, then my next delivery, the driver said on the online tracking, no such address. lol. it is a disaster. all I ask is for him to ring my bell or leave a slip if no one is home. For the second time in 6 months FedEx has delivered my package to the wrong address. For over 15 years I had delivery through UPS and not one miss-delivery. The site that I normally order from recently started using FedEx with disastrous results. I have blocked FedEx from selection for delivery. When the driver did get my address correct he would leave the package unprotected on a breezeway deck even in a driving rain when there is a covered porch no more than 15 feet away, and he would always throw the package instead of just laying it down.
