Here lies a modern breakfast cafe set in the middle of historic old Valencia. Here, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the shadow of the El Micalet prior to our early morning bus tour. The restaurant is, as I mentioned, a modern place amongst a beautifully ancient city. The menu seems to be granolaly, aka crunchy or of a pseudo hipster flavor if you know what I mean. Nevertheless, the food is quite good. From the oaky flavored, thick French toast to the honey yogurt granola bowl and the scrambled eggs, this place has something for everyone. For instance, my son makes picky eaters look like gluttons. Though, here he thoroughly enjoyed the French toast. Additionally, the menu is in both English a Spanish, and if that's not good enough, the wait staff speak both languages as well. However, the only complaint I have toward the food is that the scrambled eggs are more runny than I prefer and the bread could be a little less toasted. Overall, this is a pretty good place with decent food at moderate prices. I'd return and enjoy another meal if in town, but this time I'd try something other than the eggs. Enjoy. We came here for breakfast and it was a huge hit with us. We had a small 5 minute wait and could see that we were among locals. The service spoke very good English. While my cappuccino was served luke warm, it was very well made. Our dishes - Eggs Benedict with Salmon and Oven baked eggs with mushroom were both outstanding. I was a student in Valencia for a Fall and Spring semester and it took me TOO long to come a-crossed this place. The food is amazing, my personal favorites being the pumpkin curry and the pancakes, especially when I was hung over. The oat milk iced coffee was the best coffee in all of Valencia and I had class mates who walked 20 minutes to and from just for there coffee. It's a great working environment. If you need to charge something then get the tables facing out the window and if you don't take a seat at the big table in the middle. If you don't want to work and just enjoy a great brunch, sit at the other tables. The pastry's are also very good. Over all a great place. And lots of people know it so it can get busy! Came here to get some work done and the environment was perfect. Free WiFi and plenty of indoor seating. (Although they only let you sit at the big shared tables if you have laptops.) it's also pretty quiet. My friend and I got a glass of wine and the blueberry smoothie and had no complaints. The scrambled eggs and toast was cooked perfectly. Our papaya was served with toasted coconut shavings and lime, an unexpected pairing that made me think twice about papaya! Finally, it was so nice to be welcomed with friendly service from the skilled baristas and servers, since it is obvious we are tourists. The food was so flavorful I don't think I'll ever get to experience that again. A must try for breakfast/brunch if you're in Valencia. Coffee anywhere in Valencia, as always, was perfect. Coming from the brunch capital of the world, San Francisco, CA, I can confidently say that this place has filled my void since being gone for 5 months. Sadly, iced coffee is not a thing in Spain, but at Federal it is. Get their iced coffee paired with the eggs benedict. Incredible. I've been back 4 times since my first visit only a few weeks ago. I have previously gone here and the food was fine. I went back for lunch and got the hamburger. It was not a good burger and the meat was RAW! When I told the server that it was raw and I can't eat it she took it back. At checkout they only gave me a $1 off of the burger cost that again I didn't eat. The food wasn't that special but we decided to give it a second try since it had good reviews. The staff were pretentious the second time. I live in Valencia so after my first bad experience (read down) I still decided to give this place a second chance. The ambient is nice, kinda hipster-ish, coworking atmosphere, lots of tourists, staff speaks English BUT the service is HORRIBLE. 1st experience- had 45min break in between work so I decided to visit this place for a quick "me time" and read a book over some coffee and cake. I waited 10min for the staff to attend me and bring me the menu and another 10 min for them to come back for me to order (in total seating there for 20min without anything). I ordered simple coffee and one small cake that is exposed next to the cashier. I waited for additional 25min for them to bring me my order but they NEVER DID. After 40min at the local, I left without receiving my order. 2nd experience- I had a spare 1h before work and decided to give it a try AGAIN but this time for breakfast. Again 10min waiting for them to bring the menu and 10 min + really insisting on them to take my order. I ordered Golden latte and Rye toast (nothing fancy). I waited 15min for my latte (?!) to arrive and additional 30 min (?!) for the toast that arrived too late because I was there for an hour which I think is more than enough for a brekkie. The cashier apologized but still rudely said "dont you see how busy we are?!". I guess they should hire more staff or they will loose all the customers because there are many other places around in the center that are cheaper and they bring you coffee and toast in maximum 10 min. The service here is absolutely horrible. They make you wait so long for your food. When we asked for salt and pepper, we had to ask a few times until they actually decided to bring it.
