I purchased my green cheek conure here about 6 months ago. She is healthy, friendly and was used to being handled by humans. I drove from San Antonio to Corpus when I was ready to add a new bird to the family because I had been to the old location and remember they had a large selection of conures. The newer location gives the birds much more room and is a better store overall. It seems cleaner and I prefer the layout. They have bulk seed available and I pick some up when I'm in the area (bulk is important because I mix a few kinds to get a blend that isn't too heavy on the dried fruit or sunflower seeds). The only things that I would like to see stocked there are more perch & toy types. I prefer to give my birds natural manzanita wood perches and still haven't found a good place that sells them locally. I'd like to see more smaller wooden chew/climbing toys for conure sized birds, it seems like most of the ones they stock are for the big parrots. That said what matters is the health of the birds and this one is great. And yes, when I stop by it's fun to chat with the Macaws & Cockatoos for a few minutes, hear their earth-shaking roars and remind myself why I stick with Conure/Cockatiel sized birds. Let me start with, I am not a bird person. I was in town With my daughter in law and she wanted to get bird toys for their conure. That all changed quickly once we walked thru the door. Not only do I have a new appreciation of birds overall, we came home with a new feathered family member. We both learned a lot, gave a hurricane homeless bird a home, and made my son very happy! He has wanted a cockatoo for a long time! We both felt very comfortable and at ease getting a bird here as you could tell how well cared for the birds were! Definitely worth the trip! read more

Best little birdhouse in Tx!! Robert & Marcus are very knowledgable and passionate about all things birds! They take really good care of the animals aka their children, and as much as they love to see them go off to good homes, I know they're also sad to see their babies leave the nest! Great selection of cages and toys too. If you're in the market for a feathered companion or supplies in CC, you'd be silly to go anywhere else. PetSmart or PetCo can't compete with the type of attention and care these guys give their birds. Very disappointed with this place. Bought a $140 baby cocktail, waited forever for her to be ready and then she died not even 2 weeks later. Called the store and was told their guarantee was 10 days and I could have brought her in to see their vet free in that window. Was never told this from the start or given any kind of signs to monitor for. Now I have a heartbroken 8 year old and am out $150. Will never shop here again. read more

DON'T BUY A BIRD FROM HERE!!! I just visited this store and was very saddened by what I saw. The baby birds seemed to be in decent conditions but the adult birds looked to be in horrible conditions. All of them were in extremely small cages and with 1 toy at the most, and quite a lot of them had 0 toys. They had a Moluccan Cockatoo in a cage that a love bird should be in, and a Blue and Gold Macaw in a cage that that was so small that on the highest perch it's tail feathers we're pushed up against the poop tray. Their feathers were in pretty bad shape, and most had plucked out their tails. I would never ever buy a bird from here, and I hope any who read this would never either until their adult birds are in better conditions. Please urge them to have their birds in better conditions! read more

Awesome store.... They have all kinds of birds... Food and supplies .... It's a great place to go whether your already have a bird or birds or for a newbie like me... You are not only sold a bird but educated on how to care for your new pet. They also have different types and sizes of cages . I brought my mothers cockatiel here in it's full sized cafe because it needed it's wings clipped and nails trimmed. Let's just say it wasn't the friendliest bird .. But next thing I knew Marcus the owner had her bird on his finger nice and calm.. It's a great place to go for this reason... He really cares for each and every bird.... Don't let the looks of the outside of this building fool you. Inside we was greeted kindly with handshakes and well kept feathered friends. The owner was super knowledgeable and helpful when selecting Accessories for my current parrot and I just may be purchasing her mate. It's nice to talk to someone that is truly passionate about what they do and not just about the money. I learned so much about my own parrot that I didn't even know, and being knew to the area he was even able to point us in the right direction for some good grub and a walk on the beach. read more

Best place to buy a pet bird ... And for information on birds .... Also they take great care of the birds they board of you are planning a trip... My Niko and KeKe were purchased there.. Being a person that never handled a bird Marcus the owner made sure I knew what I was doing. I take them there regularly for nail and wing trimming and purchase all their food and toys as well.... I bought a beautiful Lutino Lovebird from these guys and (being a first time owner) the associate was very helpful in consulting me on the proper care for a bird and answering the questions I had. They sell lots of different birds (that are hand fed!) cages, and toys too. So I was definitely able to stock up on goodies - without breaking the bank. Customer service was top notch though. Very friendly staff, and clean store. All the birds looked healthy and happy. The owner had just built a beautiful enclosure for his finches, which I think is wonderful! Shows he really cares about the happiness of his fids. His employees were hard at work the whole time we were there cleaning cages and floors.
