Only thing I've bought there was a Jays Tshirt. Always shopping in season for gear for hockey soccer and baseball. Needed hockey pucks once, out of stock. Soccer shin guards? Out of stock. Went in today, looking for practice baseballs. Would've accepted any baseball. No staff came to help until I signalled for one, despite having three employees standing around chatting on the floor. Asked if they had baseballs. The woman who was working motioned to a tiny basket of softballs on the floor and said that's all they have. Didn't seen very interested in the customer, even though I was the only customer in the shop. The management is routinely rude to customers, and the staff generally seem to just not care. I'm never wasting my time walking there again. I'll just drive to sport check in London next time.

I knew little about the sport before last year beyond my child's enthusiasm. The shop manager spent time to educate me (and my child) about the equipment he'd need and what we could expect from it in terms of both his physical growth and sporting competency plus wear-and-tear for the coming seasons. He said I needed to buy new skates. Ha. The employee didn't seem like he was the part time teenage type either and seemed experienced in what he did. I went across town to the other sports store. They fixed it for $15. I still use these skates. I wasn't too impressed to say the least. Sure, if you don't dabble with skate repairs, why tell me to buy new skates?

I had visited the old location, which was next to the Skechers outlet. There was a sign that said that the MEC was relocated a kilometre away. The store was bright and cheerful. I managed to get a number of storage travel tubs. You basically can pop them open with one hand and do the same to close them shut. They work well, especially for storing vitamins or smaller items in a round container. Folks with dexterity issues would find these storage tubs easy to use. The prices there can be up there, depending on what you are getting. However, you do see discounted items. They do exist! I tend to shop here for various bags -- reusable shopping bags, backpacks, sling backs, and more. They are all durable. (13)
