What a frustrating (and EXPENSIVE) experience. Stay away if you want things taken care of the first time! I had them visit my home when my heat went out. The first technician arrived promptly as scheduled, was polite and professional, but ended up billing me over $500 to flip a breaker on the furnace in my attic and "tighten a couple of wires" (his words, not mine). When questioned, he said that was their standard billing amount for "minor electrical work", which is pretty absurd for less than 45 minutes of work. He did offer a $50 coupon to reduce the cost slightly. He also informed me that the breaker was going bad and would need to be replaced, and they would need to send out an electrician to do this. Here's where it gets worse. The electrician came as scheduled two days later, but had not been informed that the breaker needed to be replaced, so did not have the parts to do this. So I got billed an additional $230 for his visit, which accomplished absolutely nothing. The following day, another technician called to let me know he was on his way. When I asked if he had the correct parts to complete the job, he said that there was nothing in the notes from the previous two visits about replacing a breaker, so he did not have the parts. At this point in the afternoon, the supplier was already closed, so we had to reschedule for the next day. Thankfully I was available, but having to be at home for 4 different visits definitely was not convenient. He was able to get the breaker replaced and get everything up and running the next day, however. All in all, I ended up paying nearly $1,100 to have a simple breaker replaced on my furnace, which is entirely absurd, and waited 4 days in frigid temperatures. I called in to see if I could get a partial refund because of how unnecessary half of the visits should have been, but was informed that these prices are standard. I spoke with a manager named Alex, who told me he would look into it, but never heard back after more than a week despite multiple attempts to contact him again. Ultimately I'm extremely frustrated by the experience, and question the business practices of this company. The complete lack of proper communication between their technicians to get what should have been a very simple repair done in a timely manner is entirely unacceptable, and the fact that they billed me for their mistakes and miscommunication is terrible. read more

I have been a Comfy Club member since May 2024. Paying a monthly fee for regular checkups. First, they didn't find a tear in a flex cuff in the duct work when attempting to find why a bedroom wasn't heating/cooling, didn't realize I was missing caps on the outside unit which was probably the reason for refrigerant loss, didn't realize I had a partial clog in the drain line resulting in flooding (despite a safety valve that was supposed to prevent that) and damaged my floor. And to top it all off, they didn't realize my unit was under warranty and charged me for a capacitor that should have been covered by the warranty. read more

A lot of responses say to make sure to use their company so everything is covered under the warranties. Their warranties don't cover anything, they still charge for labor and they get the part for free from the manufacturer. This company sucks, ever since we fired them we haven't had any issues with our unit, we quit their monthly service club and magically the issues stopped. Funny how that works. read more

August 7 they came the first time didn't check my a/c system. They just filled my Freon 2 lbs from outside never inspection the coil for leak. I was charged almost $500. I called again it continue to having issue Freon leak again they came out for the second time. Now they say I need Freon and color dye to check for the leak, but why they didn't use the color dye the first time. instead of double charge. This time another $483 now total about $1000. I was quoted to replace the coil which is $4339 which is one year warranty. I'm sure they're scamming me for the truth. I called another HVAC my neighbor referred me. They came out with no charge inspected my HVAC unit from the leaks got a complete install for 10 years. warranty for $1466. They came out within a week later with the coil and installed professionally done. Fayette Heating & Air wanted $4339 compared to $1466 it's a big scammer Fayetta. I'm giving them an extra star because the service technician who came for an assessment was very kind and forthcoming. However, after a simple comparison quote two days later, it's clear why they have such a poor quality rating. Our motor fan was on the last legs and quoted us $1500 for that repair and a few other suggestions like refitting pipes. We had a different contractor come out and same assessment but half the cost. If the part is $250, making the cost of labor and install nearly 1300! I'm sure they're sitting comfortable in their margin spread, and doing the oversell for a new hvac system so eating the cost of 1500 doesn't seem as bad. read more

Update, the leak was result of the fitting at the unit failed, Mitsubishi states this is result of not being torqued to specifications. Manager that came on site even said that If under torqued or over torqued the fitting can fail. But i still was forced to pay. We needed our Thermostat replaced in our House the tech came out recommended we buy a certain one from Lowe's because they are cheaper. We bought them had them installed by by the tech he said they were good to go! We even had an inspection of the system before winter told good to go as soon as it got cold furnace ran Nonstop. Tech came back out said we had the wrong thermostat put in. The answer we were given was because we didn't buy the Thermostat from them they had to charge us full price! I spoke to the head Alex Tanner and was told tough luck. They took no responsibility for having there techs recommended the wrong product buy it from another source and not realize they were installing the wrong thermostat inspect it again and tell us it good again still take no responsibility. Fayette Heating & Air - What electrical issues? Not here anymore! - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Lexington, Kentucky

Unfortunately, have had a frustrating and overall disappointing experience with Fayette Heating and Air. We have a boiler/holding tank set up which is difficult to find anyone to work on, our tank began leaking and this was the quickest place we could find someone licensed to work on our system. Plumbing came out the next day, said we needed a new tank, ours had been 10 years old. We ordered a tank, scheduled installation. My husband mentioned that we needed a boiler tech to be at installation, because we've run into this issue in the past, which was not arranged by the plumber that came out. After a week with no hot water, the new tank was installed, the plumbers wired the tank, ARC's the fuse, sent an electrician later on in the evening, the electrician basically said we were out of luck, so after about a week without water, couple thousands dollars in, still have no hot water. The tech couldn't make it out until Monday. Monday comes around, the boiler tech, John said that the plumbers wired the tank incorrectly to the boiler, causing the ARC. He unfortunately had to come back Tuesday to fix the problem. We had hot water, all was well after this but his fear was that the switch on the brand new tank would be damaged from the plumbers continually trying to incorrectly wire the tank to the boiler. Which did wind up occurring a few days later, requiring us to call again, which required yet another visit. Thankfully, John was able to diagnose the problem over the phone and ordered the part. Which he said would be there the next day, but was not delivered and installed until 4 days later. Which put our boiler pump at risk because if we wanted hot water, it needed to continue to run, but without the proper switch, it would not turn off in between heating water. The only positive thing out of this experience was John Howard, the boiler technician. He was wonderful and very knowledgeable about our boiler system. He will be the only person we request moving forward for our home. In the numerous calls we made, no one was helpful in the office. We got the run around no matter what time of day we called. We spoke to a supervisor at one point that said they'd call us back and never did. Very disappointed and frustrating two weeks but thankful to know who we need to come out next time to avoid at least some of the nonsense we dealt with. read more

Absolutely do not. I have never had more issues from a company. I will say the techs are all friendly and polite but unfortunately don't have the training they need. We bought a very expensive new HVAC last February and are still trying to get the system to work right. 2 days after the initial installation we had a gas leak, "not caused by installation" that absolutely was caused by the installation. They charged us $2300 to fix that. Then they installed a sum pump that we later found out wasn't installed to code so we had to get that fixed. Then when it was time to turn on the AC it took a week of guys at the house trying to figure out why the brand new AC didn't work. Now we need to move our exhaust line and turns out that isn't venting to code as well and instead of remediating the problem they want to try to make us pay $2300 to fix that as well. read more

Fayette Heating & Air does not even deserve 1 star. They came over on Friday (charged us $974.33 on my credit card) but could not fix our sewer issue. The plumber said they would come back on Monday and give us an estimate. I called another firm and they came on Monday. The issue was taken care of in 15 minutes! Fayette Heating & Air said they did a lot of work but did not do anything which I suspected. This was verified by my person onsite. They wanted to replace all plumbing. I offered a reasonable travel time expense but they would only credit me $250 toward future work. To this day, Fayette Heating & Air has not provided an itemized invoice. read more

While their communication was great, their prices were outrageous for the job I needed done. I literally told the guy who showed up to get out of my kitchen....and he still wanted to collect $99 for coming out!!! As a retired contractor. I had the job laid out for them and found $576 to be outrageous for the 20 minute job needed. I refused to give him his requested $99 and told him again to leave. I contacted Fast Flow Plumbing and they came out exactly when they said they would, performed the task I needed done within 20 minutes and charged me only $249!!! They installed my system 5 years ago. 8K. and messed it up, didn't fit, had to bring a new unit because they didn't use a yardstick first. Larry, Curly, Moe staff. Total cluster. Then inspector rejected the laughably bad ductwork. Had 10 year parts warranty on EVERYTHING in writing, and even clarified on invoice that it included furnace, AC, AND thermostat. Today they denied warranty for thermostat parts, and would only provide a lump sum price, no breakdwown of parts and labor. They wanted $630 for a thermostat ($50 at lowes), $300 for a 50 cent low volt fuse, and$100 trip fee for a total of $1030. The tech says "I have no control over pricing" but offered to throw in the fuse, even though he has "no control". A convenient excuse. Absolute crooks. Have another company scheduled now. I would do myself but expect Fayette screwed with the system in case I didn't accept their shakedown. I feel so slimy from the experience I have to take a second shower of the day and it's not even Noon. Fayette, I'm the guy at the address starting with 41... on May 15. read more

Warning for anyone thinking about using Fayette Heating & Air. After installing 2 new air conditioning units ($15 K) to my home 3 years ago, one of the compressors went out. Although the parts are covered under warranty, they still charged me $2,205.00 for labor. Keep in mind, that these units were highly recommended by the company, telling me that I should get at least 20 years out of these before needing attention. This labor took only 2 hours and 10 minutes. When I called the company to question this extreme high rate, I was told I needed to talk to Alex, the "quality-control supervisor," about this rate, he had the nerve to tell me that $2,205.00 is the benefit of their "fixed price policy." As I discovered while writing this review, this company has terrible reviews. Shame on me for not paying attention to them. Don't make the same mistake that I made. Short time later they showed up to do a check and found a bunch of stuff that needed fixing. They had just fixed it and I had no problems. I think they just wanted to drum up income. Trying to make a long story short here. A FH&A tech came to my house for a Comfy Club visit for a biannual check of our geothermal system. He states that the split package is almost empty of water and recommends adding water for a charge of $360.00 ($450.00 for non club members). I questioned the pricing for taking water out of my hot water heater with a small hose to transfer to my geo unit in the same room. (6 feet...no exaggeration) The tech then offered a $50.00 coupon which lowered the price to $310.00. I went ahead and signed to have the water added, as he said the unit could shut down without the addition of water. I figured I would call the manager of the company, thinking this had to be a mistake by a new tech. The tech topped off the water which added an extra 15 to 20 minutes to the Comfy Club visit. I called the FH&A manager, and he too quoted a flat rate of $360.00 to transfer water. He offered another $50.00 coupon but refused to mediate further. I have spoken with other companies since then and most don't charge for topping off your water, and one said they charge a fee of $50.00, depending on circumstances. This was not my only bad experience with FH&A, but was the final straw. I have since cancelled my Comfy Club membership and will be using another company for our heating and air, plumbing and electrical needs. read more

Two bad experiences at two different homes. Charged excessive amount $265 for reattaching a house that had come loose from the back of a heating unit. Even the guy working for them said it should have been a service call charge but "corporate now dictates what they charge". A technician came out to inspect our unit for the fall. He told us we needed to get our ducts cleaned because they were so bad that they could catch fire. He also said we needed some other part on our compressor which was expensive. The funny thing is we had our ducts cleaned by Fayette Heating and Air 11 months ago. Either way I think we are done with this company. Either the technician was lying about our ducts being that bad or they didn't clean them last year. We signed up with Fayette several years ago for HVAC maintenance. Two years ago, they sold us a new system. Since it was installed, it has never properly cooled our condo (the old system worked far better). We repeatedly asked them to check it and were given quotes for various things to help - all of them pretty much over $1k each. One issue was the duct work in the HVAC closet that was taped down but kept coming loose. The HVAC closet in the garage was cooler than the rest of the house because the duct work wasn't properly secured. They would come out and tape it down again but it never stayed. Over the two years, they came out multiple times but never came close to fixing the problem. We finally got another company to inspect it and determined it was 3 lbs. low on refrigerant and the back of the duct work had completely separated from the pipes (though Fayette had just checked our system twice in 3 months - plus it was a brand new $10k system!). We also learned that the unit was not to code and with a pipe too close to the duct work, it was a fire hazard. We've now switched to the other company and immediately added the refrigerant. Amazingly, the unit works better than ever. Why Fayette couldn't diagnose that problem in two years is a mystery. We'll now pay the new company to fix the fire hazard as well. Every time I spoke to them about our issues, Fayette would say they'd make things right. In two years they never actually did that. You can say it all you want, but actions speak louder than words. Trust is a big thing and Fayette has lost our trust completely. read more

I scheduled an appointment on my only day off to repair my tankless water heater and gave them my address and phone number. They sent a confirmation via email. I waited the allotted time they were to come and no one showed up. I called and they said they had tried to call me several times. However, it was a number not even close to mine. Then they tried to tell me they didn't. They said they couldn't fit me in the day I was off. I had no hot water. I will not use them in the future for any reason. The only good thing to say about Fayette Heating & Air is that they will make a service call on the weekend. Other than that, avoid this company at all costs. I accidentally called them instead of my regular, similarly named contractor for over two decades, "Fayette *PLUMBING* and HVAC" 1. They said they'd be out in 2-4 hours, and they'd make a courtesy call on the way. Fantastic...better than I expected on a holiday weekend. HOWEVER, I was away from my phone when they made several "courtesy call" attempts, so they cancelled my appointment without showing up. Fortunately, when I finally checked my phone and called their dispatch, they were able to get someone out promptly. They NEVER said the courtesy call was a prerequisite for them to keep their appointment. 2. They diagnosed a pressure switch as the problem, and wanted $450 for the part alone. I told the tech I recognize a $30 switch when I see one. He tried to sell me the Comfy Club to get the price down to $350, and I called BS. I paid the $110 service fee, thanked him for the diagnosis, and sent him away. The next morning I bought the switch for $34 from SWH Supply and installed it myself. All in all, the diagnosis was worth the $100 to me, but I am APPALLED at their opportunistic greed. It will be a cold Friday night in Lex before I use this company again. read more

I was told to sign up for comfy club for $12 a month to get a discount on the installation (false) and servicing that would be scheduled twice a year. Never got a call for a first appointment and noticed I was Being charged $20 a month. I called To cancel and the woman said she would have the manager call me for my refund. Never heard back. A technician told me customer service is great and to call again about it, when I asked After being called to make another appointment randomly to maybe rediagnose the problem, I was told they don't do refunds and if I dont Use the service that's my fault. Which contradicts what I was Told. Not happy with how customer service treat their "customers". No complaints about the techs that work their butts off but the guys not doing the grunt work are jerks and will sell stuff to you just to make a buck. read more

Extremely outrageous pricing. Charged $400 for a 5 minute fix to repair a wire on the air conditioning unit that they probably screwed up in the first place, considering they were the ones that installed it. When I called them out to unplug a drain a few months later, they offered a $70 bottle of Biosmart drain cleaner on top of a $300 service call. When I balked at the price, they offered a comfy club membership and said, "try to keep it for at least 6 months or else they'll back charge you for the membership." Fayette wanted to charge me $639 to add approx. 3lbs of refrigerent to my system. This is an incredibly simple service to perform and a 25lb tank of 410A can be purchased for under $300. They are taking advantage of people who don't understand how to perform this service by charging exorbitant prices. Aside from their prices, they were going to just add THREE lb and be on their way without even mentioning the potential of a leak or any option to locate, repair or mitigate the underlying issue. This may or may not be typical of HVAC service providers in the area, but it's a pretty pathetic standard of service. I typically use E&E Heating and Cooling but decided to try Fayette because they were able to be there sooner. I've decided to wait for E&E. Ed is far more reasonably priced and truly makes an honest effort to take care of his customers. read more

Became a "Comfort Club" for simi-annual checkups. On their first checkup they said I need to replace the filter but they did not have the filters or tell me what type of filters I needed. It was required of me to go under the house to do it my self, twice Waited for the second semi-annual checkup & requested this include the filter change. BUT, they informed me this would require 2 Visit Charges, one to find out what filer & second Visit to install. They finally agreed to wave the second charge, BUT they charged me $100.00 for the filter, they sell at Home Depot sells them for less than $10.00. RIP OFF! read more

I normally don't leave bad reviews but FHAA they definitely mislead and overcharge on everything...I was told comfy club could be canceled anytime which is lie...they wanted to keep charging me $600 plus every visit....no printed bills, very vague as to what was actually done last time my bill was $1200 and they needed to order part.... meanwhile I called another company to give 2nd opinion was told that FHAA turned off my breaker to my unit I called the the Lexington office and canceled repair and told them what was found, they didn't have a problem with technician doing this I finished paying out my 11 month comfy club membership recently they literally called and left 100 messages via landline,cellphone, email,text messages in last 4 months telling me I had FREE inspection without me returning 1 call ....I don't trust them at this point....My unit hasn't missed a beat 11 months later....unnecessary repairs, they also installed my brand new units inside and out 7 years ago they were the only people that took care of it!!!
