I am on the road a lot and wanted to pick up yet another guitar on my travels. I was in the market for a Telecaster that was different from my ones back in Nashville. The Fender versions that I saw were very nice in a wide range of styles however, a little out of my price range at that time. I ended up picking a Squire Telecaster Deluxe. I did have to do a complete set up on it when I got back to my hotel, which was a little bit of a buzz kill. A few years ago I went to Fawley's with the intent to purchase a new Taylor acoustic guitar. They had a nice selection of Taylors and their prices were equivalent to the major retailers (Musician's Friend, Guitar Center, etc.). The sales guy was really nice and laid back, and let me sit in the acoustic room for quite some time trying out all the Taylors (some of them REALLY expensive!). If you are in the Morgantown area and need strings, picks, etc. or are looking into a Taylor Guitar, check Fawley's out. They also do luthier work -- a friend of mine has had a few guitars set up there and had new nuts/tuners put on and they have turned out great. The only real negative thing I will say is that their selection is not quite as vast as, say, a Guitar Center, but I would much rather support a local place like Fawley's than give GC any of my money. read more

My family and I were in Morgantown for doctor's visits and decided to run around afterwards. I always like to go to music stores when I'm visiting somewhere. The selection of guitar's isn't the best but I played 4 different guitars for a while and never got an evil-eye like I do at some places. The staff is super friendly and we're eager to assist me. One employee even offered my elderly grandmother some water as she was listening to me play guitar. read more

I've been a woodwind musician for many years and i recently started playing bass in a jazz ensemble so i decided to drop by and just see what all fawley had in store. i'm in the market for a hofner bass, so i took a look around and they sadly did not carry any hofner basses, but they did have a wide selection of beautiful new and used ibanez and fender guitars and basses that were VERY reasonably priced. i was actually very tempted to buy an ibanez bass that i wasn't even looking for just because it was so well-priced! while perusing through the used instruments i spotted some used consignment clarinets from reputable brands like yamaha and selmer that appeared to be in excellent condition (sadly i didn't have a mouthpiece on me to try them out) which were also incredibly low-priced! next time i am in town i will definitely return to fawley with a pocketful of spending money and a couple of hours to play to my heart's content on the selection of instruments that fawley carries. read more

I stopped by Fawley Music Co because I saw that they recently started carrying Schecter guitars. The staff seemed very friendly and laid back. I tried out several guitars and not once was I pressured by the staff. I really hate when you are trying out guitars and someone is trying to hard-sell you the entire time. It really ruins the experience and doesn't allow you to properly evaluate the instrument. The prices of the instruments seemed to be very good, especially for a local shop. They weren't much more than what you can find online, and I would definitely rather pay a few more bucks to actually be able to try out an instrument, as well as to support a local business. Fawley Music had a very nice selection of Fender guitars and amps. They also have several Schecter models. I didn't really check out the acoustics, but it looked like they had a very nice selection of acoustics -- even better than the electrics. The amp selection was more limited, but there were several Fender and Vox models, as well as a couple smaller Marshalls. I was impressed by this store, and will surely be doing business there in the future. read more

I entered into a rental purchase agreement with Fawley's on two instruments for my daughters. Beware of the terms of the contract. They do not tell you everything when you go to the meeting at your child's school. My child's music teacher told them we were moving out of state and they called me today wanting both instruments back. I was not made aware at ANY of these meetings that we had to return the instrument if we moved to a school where Fawleys has no working relationship with them. I was told that if I didn't return it that they would consider them stolen instruments and act accordingly. My original plan was to purchase these instruments and pay on them until they were mine. I already called Fawley's and gave them my new bank account information for the move. I told them that and they said they cannot do that because they don't have a working relationship with the school. So, now I am forced to leave instruments that I have already paid a large amount of money on, as I cannot afford to pay the almost 2 grand that we owe on them. Think twice before you do business with this company. They aren't very nice and clearly cannot lay out all the details of their rental agreements at meetings. After the way I was treated I will be taking my business elsewhere, as they clearly lack ANY customer service abilities whatsoever!!! read more

i have been going to fawley's for almost 25 years now, since i was a teen, and their prices are almost always better than musician's friend, ams, ebay, and amazon. their staff are always honest and helpful as well. read more

I went looking for a specific item for a PA. They said I needed this certain part for what I was trying to do, not what I thought I needed when I came in. I had to special order the part, when it finally came, it wasn't what I needed at all, and whats more, they refused to allow me to return the item even though they told me incorrectly that I needed it for what I was trying to do. They said since it was ordered in for me, they wouldn't take it back, even though I didn't originally even want the item, I only got it because they said it was what I really wanted. I do NOT recommend this store when it comes to knowing products and uses for products. Don't trust what they tell you. read more
