Fat Pilgrim & Harvest Home shop in Sonoma, CA, on Highway 12…read more I luv stopping here to check out the inventory. It harkens to an old timey general store but with modern vibes and artisan curated pieces at down to earth prices. Seriously, the majority of prices match to that bullseye retail shop. One side is a general store with kitchen items, greeting cards, soaps, candles, snacks. jewelry, and women's accessories. The other side sells living room items... furniture, throws, pillows, home decor, small art pieces, and reproduction artwork. Oh I can't forget to tell you about the outdoor art sculptures which are displayed in the back yard. The sculptures are whimsical and artsy. They carry sofas and living room pieces. The furniture is of quality and comes with prices matching that quality. I enjoy shopping for the framed reproduction paintings and home decor. The price points range from $30 and upwards for the paintings.

As a general store, it is pretty general. They have hand sanitizers (I should've gotten one) Their small olive oil soap bars are reasonably priced. They have a funny United Eats of America jigsaw puzzle (it characterizes Oregon as a land of chanterelle mushrooms&oysters, somehow Shandong beef rolls&avocado toast embody California, with New England boiled dinner representing New England) There's a beautiful coffee table book about the Sonoma Coast. The service is friendly&attentive, the prices reasonable. It's eccentric and fun. The only downside is the unpaved parking lot- I guess that's what wheel alignments are for. Really enjoyed it. Whimsical roadside attraction.

Just as fun to say, it's fun to browse even if you're not a home chef. They have brand name, quality cookware, bakeware, and kitchen items. Gifts and gadgets. Basic items (inexpensive) to "what do I do with this" specialized items (pricier). All at reasonable, competitive pricing for the brands. Locally owned since 1972. Awesome! The place is not particularly large, but they have a knack for utilizing space without feeling cluttered. I stopped in recently because I happen to be in the area and heard they carry Smithy, American made cast iron cookware. In particular I was looking for the carbon steel line of Smithy which is supposedly lighter in weight than their cast iron line. The young sales associate helped me locate the Smithy display. He was aware of the brand and knew where it was exactly in the shop. Lovely, gorgeous pieces. Pricing was on par. After doing my weightlifting kitchen curl test with a 10 inch skillet, I concluded that it is less weighty but I'm too weak to handle even that carbon steel weight. However I am uncommonly lacking the normal upper body strength. So you most likely will not have the same issue as I.
