I did everything online, but you also have the paper option. The process was really smooth. Once you make your appointment, they send out various reminder text to keep you updated and reminded about your appointment. One the day of, you fill out the demographic and health history form (which was a breeze). They checked me in and took me to the back quickly. I had a thorough screening. The doctor is very smart and have advanced technology. When I was done, the tech took me to the front and help me pick out glasses that best suited my preference. I enjoyed my experience. Hubby and I have found the right place for us.

The midtown eye care clinic was decently close to my home and Dr.Powelson had great reviews. So I bit the bullet and decided to schedule an appointment. The staff was very courteous and the doctor was phenomenal. As I've mentioned to him at my appointment, this has been the more extensive and helpful appointment I've ever had with an optometrist. We even slightly discussed lasik (we would have discussed it more but at the time I am not a candidate for it). Dr.Powelson actually teaches how to perform lasik at the school in town as well. So if you're looking into that option, or looking for anything pertaining to your optometry needs, I absolutely recommend going to Midtown Eye Care and seeing Dr.Powelson. They also had a decent selection of eyeglass frames in the clinic. Brands such as Kate Spade, Ralph Lauren, Oakley, Ray Ban, Lacoste, Sketchers, amongst others. Prices were beyond reasonable. Instead of going through the eye dilation situation that everyone hates about optometry visits, they have this new machine where you put your eye towards a lens and use your face to press into it until you change the blue light in the lens to green and it scans a photo of the back of your eye. It does cost extra, but it is very affordable and your eye scans get stored in their database. Midtown Eye Care also fits and makes lenses on location, although some insurances do require them to send the frames out to their own lab and the lenses be made and fit there and then they'd send it back to the optometry clinic and you go pick them up. I would recommend this place over and over again. This time, I'm actually looking forward to my next optometry visit.

Told to come back for follow up in December which we did . Asked to pay another $50 for a refraction. Wasn't given a prescription for glasses but told to come back again in March for a laser treatment. Why keep charging $50 for uncovered refraction . They do not tell you this before you have it done either. Just try to make next appointment and demanding $50. No wonder they have such a nice building. I suspect they do this repeatedly to every patient. Absurd!!

Dr. Zogsby never checked behind these staff members. I assumed (my mistake) they knew what they were doing so I put my trust in these decisions. Before this surgery I never wore glasses but I was seeing through a slightly cloudy film that I was told was due to the cataracts. I approved of having the surgery because staff members told me I would have a new lease on life because I would not need distance eye ware which I didn't have to have anyway (but I may need readers which I was already using for up close work) Dr. Zogsby came in the examination room just to tell me he would be doing the surgery. On the day of surgery I was given a small amount of anesthesia and the procedure began. He talked about his son playing ball with the nurse the whole time (which was approximately 10 mins) He never addressed me other than when he was finished at which time he said "You did great" and walked out. When I went back for my checkup my vision was 20/20 but 2 weeks later it had deteriorated to 20/50. I was told it may take several weeks before my brain may accept the new lens. I took them at their word, so I scheduled the second eye for the same surgery. The second eye was much of the same outcome 20/35. I was struggling to see and couldn't drive due to this deterioration. When Dr. Zogsby said it may be a some other underlying condition that I have he tried to say I may have the beginnings of glaucoma at which time he gave me a eyedrop that was suppose to help with pressure on the optic nerve. These drops made my eyes blood shot and burned constantly. My opinion, is that the lens that was placed in my eyes were reversed and now after 7 months of this struggle I returned to my regular eye doctor and he told me I would need glasses that would somewhat correct my sight. He also said there was no sign of glaucoma and high pressure. He told me to stop the drops at which time the burning a redness disappeared. I think this clinic is relying on staff member's to do the doctor's job. Some of the doctors may have a great outcome but I would not recommend this clinic at all. You never know which doctor you will get. Please do your homework before letting anyone touch one of your most precious senses.
