Because this isn't the biggest mall on the island we usually find a lot of products that are sold out of other chain retailers here. The mall has a good selection of chains and independent stores. The parking lot has adequate parking and serval entrances. The malls entrances all have hand sanitizers and social distancing spacing stickers. Every store we visited had there staff following all safety guidelines.

Nice enclosed shopping mall on the outskirts of Montreal. This mall looks exactly like the ones you…read morewould find in the States, pretty much an anchor store on each end of a cross and a number of smaller fill-in stores in between. One of the anchors has closed, so for now they only have three major stores. Inside the mall it was very clean, well-lit, and roomy. Outside there is a lot of parking available, and the mall is hard by major expressways so getting here and back is easy. Located right on the edge with entrances inside and outside of the mall are some nice restaurant chains - we went to the Baton Rouge steakhouse connected to the mall. While a mall is a mall is a mall is still true, this one was pretty nice with middle quality stores throughout. Loads of eating places near the center portion of the mall.

But some things have changed: a new marquise, the addition of street art. This week is their annual sidewalk sale held every summer. Due to the closed businesses or vacant storefronts, the retailers displays were spaced out. The Plaza is 4 blocks long of budget retails, from Jean-Talon to Bellechasse streets. However, I had the impression that it was longer than this. Perhaps it's because I was still a kid back then. It's far from being my favourite shopping street, though it brings back childhood memories.

One of the few streets in Montreal that crosses the entire island from South to North. Most people…read morehere know St-Hubert means the Plaza. It's the part from Jean-Talon to Bellechasse where there is a glass covering the sidewalk. It's great for window-shopping, even if most of the stores have seen better days. While this street itself has seen a bit of a decline when indoor malls started opening, it has started to reverse. The area is becoming more and more famous for trendy bars and nightspots. The selection of restaurants goes from fast-food to old diners to upscale. It is still mostly about clothing boutiques, the fashion is hit or miss and it's over 90% women's fashion here but one could still find whatever one seeks here (batteries, luggage, perfume). Take a second to explore the streets that intersect the Plaza, Jean-Talon is a major artery for the city. Bélanger is up and coming, St-Zotique is more branché, Beaubien is the coolest (for me). Bellechasse is the quietest but it's good for a nice bike ride. Try to find when they have their sidewalk sales, you will not be disappointed.

They have a combination of large national chains (e.g. Aldo, Dynamite, Dollarama), independent stores (e.g. Bikkuri, Bijouterie O'Sue) and smaller less ubiquitous chains (e.g. Lace, Tristan). They also have a food court, but that is mostly chains (Subway Sandwiches, McDonald's, Thai Express). There's also a large Linen Chest, a spa, an acupuncture clinic, and a Christian book store, which I thought was a bit random, but then I remembered that the mall is under a church! There's been a bit of turnover over the years and some spots are still vacant. It's not really a destination mall, but I like that it's part of the underground pathway.
