Worse black owned business in Stone Mountain! I was told to be there at 8:30am with my two girls. I get there and EVERY chair is full. I'm thinking, well I set an appointment! Why am I waiting?! I wait for 30 minutes and decide this isn't worth it. We have things to do by 1pm today and I was told we would be out by 12-12:30pm, now all the chairs are full?! Ok well that's not the worse part. I get the girls and walk out, saying nothing. The owners daughter runs outside and I explain to her that I had an appointment at 8:30am. However it looks like it's overbooked and first come, first serve so appointments are irrelevant. I also advised her that I was told Fatima (the owner) would be branding my daughters hair. She lies and says, she just came in through the back. You just didn't see her. So I go back in, there is NO Fatima! So where is she if she came through the back? Keep in mind, there is no back door there. Not that I saw. Anyways, she takes the oldest girl and asks, "How much did she say for her hair?" I said she didn't give me a price. She told me $70 for the 5 year old and that she would give me a deal and good price for the 11 year old. Her daughter says, $120. I'm floored! I said, "To have her hair braided into a ponytail, it's $120?!" She responds, "Oh no, her hair is too short to braid into a ponytail." BULL-ISH! Her hair is NOT short. She just wanted me to get individual braids and charge me over $100 for them. If u cannot grip hair that is at least 4-6 inches IN THE BACK, u definitely should not pride yourself in being an "African Braider". I politely get my kids and tell her no thank u, I'll take them back to my side of town which is majority white and has professional women of color. She says, "Well go back to the white folks! We don't need u here!" Well ma'am, I sure will because this shit here is ridiculous! At least when I make an appointment, the stylist is working with ME, not 8 other people! Needless to say, I left very pissed. I call the owner Fatima and explain how her daughter acted and how unprofessional she was. She apologizes and begs me to give her 20 minutes to get there and she would call me and she would personally do their hair. I said, u told me that u would be the braider in the first place. Now your daughter is telling me that u don't even braid! She goes on to explain this is not true. I'm very understanding and believe in second chances. So I take the girls for breakfast and we wait. And we wait.....and wait.....I call, no answer! We come home and I text her. No reply! I finally get in touch with her again almost THREE HOURS LATER! She apologies again and says she FORGOT TO CALL ME BACK!!! Wow!!! Really?! Forgot?! But we had an appointment!!! WITH YOU!!!! Not someone else. She tells me to come on in. I told her I'm only 5 minutes away. Something told me to ask her was she going to start immediately once we arrived. She tells me, "Well, I'm doing someone's head right now so u will have to wait for a couple hours. After this head. I will do tour girls hair." It took EVERYTHING in my body not to curse her out, go to the shop, and show out! I had to explain to this woman, I'm NOT some ghetto hoodrat selling EBT to get my hair done. I have a career, along with 4 degrees, and this is not something I'm use to! Professionalism is very important! I will NEVER contact these people again. I would rather shave my head bald before I even attempted to have them braid my hair! If I could give NO STARS, I certainly would. Avoid the headache I have now and just say NO!!!!! read more
