I went to fathers mustache yesterday, and it is, no exaggeration, the worst haircut I've ever seen in my life, it was actually genuinely laughable, the woman's description said she was a male hair cut expert. I don't really care, because it's just hair and it'll grow back, but they made it pretty clear that nobody in that building should be cutting hair , especially Adria. I swear to god I could have cut it better it was that bad, I felt like the woman at the desk was holding back laughs it was that awful and I had to pay almost 50 bucks for this shit, can't make this stuff up, take your business elsewhere please for your own sake read more

This place sucks. I went in for a haircut, and the barber decided to rush through my haircut in 15 minutes. He then made some weird comment about losing a bet because apparently I took too much off. I got home and looked at the back, only to find out that it was completely uneven (like so bad it was laughable). I can't believe I paid 40 dollars to get my hair fucked up. Don't go here. I had my fifth cut at Fathers Mustache today and each one was better than the last. John is the ultimate barber. Each time I come in he takes the cut to another level and has fine tuned it so that it is absolutely the best cut I've ever had. The shop is in a great little town, Spring Lake, and the shop is dope (it's what my daughter says lol). Old world charm, friendly and reasonable prices make this a no brainer. It's $30 for a regular cut and I qualified, finally, for the senior price of $20! Hot steaming great smelling towel at the end too! Highly recommend you give this place a shot! read more

Made an appointment online for 3:30pm and was in the chair by 3:34 with John. As an active duty soldier- this is by far the best haircut I've ever received in my life (no exaggeration). I gave been getting the same type of fade for 4+ years and this was the best service I've ever received. John is professional, has a high attention to detail, and my explanation of what I wanted was made into reality. My last barber kind of messed me up about 3 weeks ago and John was able to see what he did, make the necessary adjustments, and cut it in a way that will grow in perfectly. What makes this place stick out was not only how nice and clean it was, but also how John clarified exactly what I was trying to explain and made sure he knew what to do before he started cutting my hair. I hate it when barbers just start cutting away after I say what I want and then I end up with something that isn't what I wanted. Whenever I come home, this will always be a stop. Have spent a lot of time jumping around to barber shops and stylists until I finally found Fathers Mustache. Very relaxing and accommodating barber shop with an outstanding friendly staff. I called this barber shop up and asked the person who answered the phone if there is anyone there who can cut with scissors. I was met with a confident yes, but naturally I was skeptical. The reason being is that my hair is very difficult to style and cut because it juts straight out on the sides. I can either have it extremely short or medium length - there is no in between so it is frustrating to maintain a professional look without having a crew cut or long hair. Furthermore, many stylists/barbers that I've tried in the past would say they can use only scissors, but they simply couldn't or would get frustrated and use a buzzer with a comb. Not John at Fathers Mustache, I explained to him the situation with my hair and he did an excellent job. He was friendly, professional, and patient. Not only was I surprised, I was impressed. My previous barber moved away last month, and I took a shot by calling the closest barber shop with the best reviews. Needless to say, I was lucky to have found John at Fathers Mustache. I hope that my next cut is as good as my last. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I get high-end shaves more than 5 times a year, and thought it was great that this place was so close. I've come here for a little over 2 years. I think the first two times I went, I got the basic shave, and was quite satisfied. However, it gets a little more dissapointing each time I go. Shave is not at all close and and is incomplete, I'm left with scruffy patches in odd places, which is unnaceptable for a high-end straight edge shave place. I think the end result should be absolutely smooth skin. I've been cut pretty badly more than once. And the extra services, the oil, hot towels, and after shave treatment is becoming more and more rushed, even if there's not people waiting. Really not worth it to go again, and I'll limit these shaves I get each year from several year to now just a couple times at better places in NYC. There might be some other places in this part of NJ but haven't tried. I'm a little turned off to the whole experience now. read more
