I went to BG Barbershop for the first time today. This will be my new Barber shop !!!! Great, free parking in a huge lot. I was greeted with a warm welcome. The shop is clean and modern. Brian cut my hair and I was very impressed by his attention to details. He asked me questions about my hair, the amount of time since my last haircut and he seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me and my hair. Brian took his time and I appreciated that, I never felt like he was rushing and that is a huge plus for me. The prices are reasonable and the website for making an appointment is amazing and full of information. They automatically send you a reminder for your appointment. Been going to BG barbershop since they opened and have never been disappointed. You can walk into this barbershop and sits in any one of the barbers chairs and be confident that you will get a good cut. Myself and my 2 sons have been cut by Brain, Alex, Rich, Joe and Zoe and never had an issue. All the rest of the barbers there and in west long branch are great as well. Found this online, easy to set up an appointment it was almost as fast as a walk in for mid-week. Clean shop, nice staff and Zoe did a great job-listened, took her time, paid attention. And at $18 for mens cut this was a good as the $30 places nearby in Asbury etc. Giving it 5 stars. read more

Great group of young guys working this shop. They started taking reservations which is a plus but I did have to wait about 20 minutes as a walk-in which is ok for a barber shop. Cut my hair exactly how I wanted it and checked with me three times to make sure! Did an awesome skin fade to just enough on top to push over. I had Brian who I think is the owner...will certainly go back here and might make it my new barber. read more

this place has always sucked. They Messed up on my hair Twice, Zoe cut my hair for the 1st time and did a horrible job messed up my hair. Honestly wish I would of kept my old hair cut. Then Arron did a slightly better job, still a bad job. The people that cut my hair there think they control my hair not me. I went back to my moms car in tears. Definitely the worst haircut I have ever gotten in my entire life. I walked in on a busy day. I was excited to try this place with everyone raving about this place on Yelp. They have many barbers so my bad review does not apply to all the barbers there (unfortunately I don't remember the name of mine). The lady who appeared to be covering the front desk asked me if she could cut my hair and I reluctantly agreed. I assumed she knew what she was doing which was my mistake. She made potholes and my hair was uneven I had to go elsewhere for a damage control. Never going back here again. read more

Best spot to get a hair cut especially in Ocean. I use Brian who gives a great cut and is very patient (I'm not the easiest customer when it comes to my hair) But every barber that works there seems great from the customers cut when they're done. I've been going to BG for a couple of years, and always get a great cut by Brian. Although during the week there can be a bit of a wait, they now offer appointments. The last couple of visits I couldn't wait (and didn't have an appointment, so I had Costa do my cut. He did an awesome job. I used him again today, and had a hot towel steam and shave...what a treat. He was meticulous and the experience was totally relaxing. This place is like a throwback, like "Cheers" for barbershops. read more

First time here with my husband. He recently grew a beard for the first time and went in for his first trim. Everyone was so nice and very helpful. Since my husband never had a beard before, Brian helped him decide what he wanted and it looks great! And he used a straight razor...such a rare find. All of the positive reviews and comments are well earned. I jumped into BG between meetings. The barber took his time but was quick about getting me in and out. I was the first one in the chair and was done in about 15 minutes. Including a straight edge shave on my neck and sideburns. You could tell that this guy cared about his cuts and was meticulous but very efficient. I really hope they do well here. I will be back next time I'm in the area. read more

This place is great. I've taken my dad there so we both could get a cut, we've had our hair cut by each of the barbers more than once and there's never been a bad cut. Came in as a walk in, waited 45 min to get cut, not after being treated like a " hot potato" being passed from one barber to another. Ended up a only young woman cutting my hair, not the greatest , she acted like she's being forced to cut my hair! I have to give some back story about my BG experience first, so I am one of those guys that was going to the same guy for the last 10yrs. It was someone I went to highschool with and I only liked him cutting my hair. I was driving 45 mins one way to see him for the last three years!! When he closed up shop I resorted to buying a pair of cheap clippers and cutting my own hair, needless to say I basically gave myself a crew cut everytime because I have absolutely no skill in cutting hair. For about a year it was crew cuts or trying someone new who would screw up a simple fade and moving on to the next "barber". A friend of mine reccomended BG right around when they first opened up. The owner is now my new barber, I am very particular with haircuts, service, and atmosphere when it comes to a barber and he met all my criteria.
