Clean and organized aesthetic, so it's not overwhelming when you walk in like a lot of consignment shops are. And the racks aren't overflowing and hard to sift through... we love to see it. So many jackets and sweaters, shoes, hats, shirts, dresses, etc. for solidly decent prices. I got a vintage patterned LL Bean sweater for $25. PLUS, incredibly sweet employees. The prices were more reasonable than some of the other spots but definitely still a little high for the tourists to buy. I did very much appreciate some of the shirts especially and even one of the hats that said "More Trees Less Bullshit". Was worth coming into browse and you may get some gifts to remember your trip to Maine. Staff/possible owner was friendly despite having to deal with some unsupervised kids who tried getting into some display hammocks that couldn't withstand their weight and knocked them down. Besides that we enjoyed our time checking out the store and think it is worth adding to your Itinerary.

Bean clothing and gear is not incredibly overpriced -the least you can get at the outlet besides a very minimal 30% off is a little bit of good customer servicing, but you're not gonna get that here in Ellsworth. They're all walking around talking to each other and ignoring the customers .What they really care about is pushing the L.L. Bean credit card so be ready for that. Sorry to say, but at this rate, L.L. Bean's gonna join all the others like Eddie Bauer and they're going to end up closing their stores because they charge way too much and the sizing is poor and the customer service stinks. Of course it's geared towards the tourist so that's their saving grace cause people want the name ....Honestly, it's really not worth the money. I looked at a man's shirt that was an extra large that looked like a women's medium. It literally was crinkly like it had been taken home, washed and shrunk and returned, which yes customers do this, but shame on L.L. Bean for putting it back out on the rack that should be donated not re-sold You have to be careful at the L.L. Bean outlet because a lot of the stuff is product that was ordered online or from the catalog that the customer wore washed or used for a year and returned So keep that in mind. Once in a while when they have something at 50% off, it's definitely worth looking at but my grievance today is walking around the store and all the sales women working in there; they Just look at you and walk away and ignore you so i personally don't think I'll be coming back to this store in Ellsworth again. Corporate needs to have a little chit chat with the manager about the attitude of their employees at their little satellite stores. Leon Leonwood would be pretty disappointed :(
