With over 200 stores overseas and 20 (and growing) on the east coast, I'm sure many others will feel the same way. I've bought a few pieces over the years and their clothing is top notch casual. The folks in this store are super friendly and a strong advocate for the brand. When I visited, it was pretty low key at the end of summer and there was a sale as well. Double plus for my overall experience. Hope they stick around and definitely stay in Camden, ME.

The prices on the items are normal retail prices and each rack will have the percentage off above it. Most of the clothes are 30% off the retail prices. If you look, you may find a rack with 50% off or more and they have specials on items they are looking to move. We have the LLBean MasterCard so we have points and can use the points at the store. That makes for some great shopping. Staff is always helpful.

So on our drive south to Portland, ME from Bar Harbor, hubs and I decided to see this L.L. on Rt 1 in Ellsworth. I honestly think the men's clothing (more so than the women's) are a bit on the cool side so picked up a few casual tops for my husband since he's still working from home and some lightweight cargo pants. While I'm a proud owner of their heavy-duty canvas totes for the last umpteen years (I own 2 large ones), the clothes not so much. L.L. women's clothes aren't my style- and not to say anything wrong about it, but the clothes are more for a certain crowd. There are those duck boots and small wooden furniture on the floor also for sale. But I finally got my hands on a white-grey cotton sheet set and a down grey comforter that I've been wanting. As the cashier scans your items, you'll notice their original, jacked-up prices- so don't let it spook you the way it did to me as discounts are applied at the end. Once we paid, I didn't feel this was my doom-and-gloom outlet visit. Service was nice and respectful by the way.

It does carry some t-shirts and trinket type items but most of the inventory is centered around higher quality and practical clothing. The company has been around since 1902 and is perhaps most famous for it's wide selection of warm and quality sweaters. Definitely something people need to survive the winters up here. There are also heaps of shoes and boots, scarves, warm socks, hats, swimwear, sun glasses, watches and of course high quality long underwear. I even saw some life jackets in the store. Definitely a wide variety of different and very useful items. The prices here vary but tend to reflect the higher quality of the merchandise. Jansons isn't a good place to find trinkets and souvenirs but it is a great store to find quality clothing to keep your butt warm during the cold Maine winters.

They even sell soaps, shoes and tea, yes they sell tea. I bought some.......expensive. Good tea though. OH and yeah, they have issues with clothes being hung properly. My thing with that is, hey, you take it down you put it back BUT,when there are little signs that say "please fold clothes" Uh, no, that isn't my job, that is yours. Unless you pay me, I don't fold. I put back as neat as I can where I got it, but no folding.
