Thursday comes and still nothing. I had to call the owner and then go down on my lunch hour to see what was going on. The mechanic told me the problems and said he would get back to me on Friday (today) still nothing. In the meantime, I am renting a car and it's getting expensive. So... I have no idea where my car is at regarding the repairs and how much longer it is going to take before it's done. I have been going there for years and they have always been very good when it comes to communication. This time they have not and I am angry that they won't tell me what is going on and how much longer they need my car. Not scoring any points with me so far.

So, you decide to shop around and stop by some shop that looks like it has seen better days in a what you think is rougher area. Well, this exact thing happened to me and was told I didn't need a muffler and it would be $90 for the piping. Besides a a low price this father and son team really gave great customer service and got me on the road pretty quick. If you are military they give discounts too. This is just another reason to keep it local.

I call a few places found on Yelp and price quotes seem a bit far fetched. This placed called me back and told me to come in to get it checked. If it's just for piping then it won't cost too much. Well I liked the sound of that, re-read the one an only review on here, encouraged to see military discounts given, and we decided to go here. We arrive and are told it will be a 10 minute wait. Not the most clean waiting area, which can be a turn off for some. There is a rinky dinky foosball game with a ping pong ball. We passed the time playing it. The wait was about 20 minutes but we were engrossed in our foosball match. Long story short, the piping needed to be replaced on both ends. About an hour wait. Cost was less than $100. Spent another 20 minutes with the owner as he shared a very vaguely about his time as a Navy Seal during Vietnam and much about how he ended up as a Navy Seal. Fascinating guy! He even gave my son some advice and things to think about. If you understand the code of Navy Seals then you know they pride themselves on having integrity. This veteran is the most upright mechanic you will come across. Pricing is very fair and he's not going to recommend any repairs you don't really need. The owner does this becuase he loves it, not becuase he needs the money. As a woman, I would trust my car with this guy and feel secure that he is not out to rip me off. PS- he does tune-ups and more too...just call if in doubt about the types of services provided here.
