Nasties isn't just a campus eatery -- it's a rite of passage. A core memory. A beacon of hope for…read morehungry, sleep-deprived students running on caffeine and questionable life choices. After a long hiatus, I finally made my triumphant return to North, this time with my girlfriend, to relive the magic and, of course, put their food to the test. We went for the Tompkins Burger ($8.49) -- a classic setup with onions, tomatoes, pickles, and lettuce. No sauce included, but that's a choose-your-own-adventure situation at the condiment station. My girlfriend gave it a 7/10, and honestly, that feels right. It's a solid, no-nonsense burger that exceeded my size expectations (which is half the battle with late-night food). I also really love their the boneless wings. Specifically, the sweet chili and honey mustard flavors. Maybe I'm biased (I would eat chicken for every meal if society allowed it), but these wings slap. Flavorful, saucy, and the perfect balance of sweet and tangy -- 10/10 would recommend :) Beyond the hot food, Nasties is the ultimate convenience stop. Need snacks? Drinks? A pint of Cornell ice cream to emotionally support you through finals? They've got you covered.

Then the cashier proceeded to question my intelligence. NEVER have I ever been so mistreated in a place of service. All employees are rude, and if I can find a way to get the cashier fired, I will.

GreenStar Collegetown - Pretty limited dairy. Also some items (cream cheese for instance) are found in a different section which is confusing

GreenStar emerged as an alternative to some of the other prepared food marketplaces in Collegetown,…read moreand its purpose strictly within the borders of Collegetown is great - there's nothing else that sells moderately priced groceries for those without cars on Cornell's campus. The location is great, and the hours are pretty flexible (8 am to 11 pm). For a food market strictly within Collegetown, GreenStar is a solid 4 stars. However, compare GreenStar to Wegman's, and it can't come close to compete based on selection, and can't touch Tops or P&C Fresh on prices. The problem with GreenStar is that it doesn't solve the basic need it was intended to serve, which is to present a feasible grocery option for Cornell students. I've gone to GreenStar in a pinch or if I need a quick snack in the afternoon, but it will never be my go-to source for major grocery shopping. The groceries are all organic or specialty foods, which I like for certain items (salsa, for instance, is a food of which I always buy local varieties), but if I need boxed pasta I want a $1 box of Barilla, not some fancy organic hand-made pasta. The prepared foods are nice, but I personally prefer the selection at CTB, and prices are similar. All in all, I'm glad GreenStar is open in Collegetown, but it doesn't really solve any of the problems it intended to.

There is just one employee who definitely needs retraining or better yet, she should ind a job more suited to her. She has started fights with several other employees who were impressive in their ability to remain professional and not engage. She has also been telling people incorrect information regarding store cards and gas prices. I have heard several people correct her but it doesn't seem to matter what anyone else says; she is still giving out the wrong information. The employees who have been there the longest are incredible and hardworking and excellent at providing superior customer service. The manager Nicci is very kind and has an amazing memory---she remembered my brand of cigarettes after one time and now has them at the counter before I get there. The other lady who regularly works is incredibly considerate: I have watched her help customers carry bags of ice to their cars and I've also seen her buy a homeless beggar $25 worth of food and food for his dog. Kindness is so important and unfortunately not very common anymore, so to see someone who practices Kindness on a regular basis instead of just talking about it and sticking a sign in their yard; it's inspiring. The curly hair guy who works there is so funny and an obvious hard worker. With the exception of the formerly mentioned person, this convenience store is the best one to stop at if you appreciate true and caring customer service, you prefer a clean store and a bathroom that is always clean (not an easy feat considering the amount of ppl using those bathrooms every hour). I have never ever had an issue with my card being fraudulently charged as alleged in a different review and I highly doubt anyone said that happens regularly. The genius probably doesn't realize that his own bank will put a certain amount on hold and then let it back into your account but that has nothing to do with the little gas station. He should probably call his bank. Besides there are cameras covering every inch of that property so why wouldn't you just check camera footage if you are charged fraudulently. Then you'd have the culprit, the evidence and the thief would go to jail. But he didn't do that bc no one stole $300 from him. I watched the cashier chase down a customer bc they accidentally handed her an extra dollar. 5 stars for customer service, 5 stars for product variety, 5 stars for mgmt and 2 stars for the one employee. 2 because I watched her scrub those restrooms and that can't be fun. 5 stars overall, will definitely return and recommend to everyone and anyone.
