First off, the providers and staff are nice and helpful, but the wait time here is always horrendous. Waited over 3 hours for my daughter's work physical and drug test and they were still advising patients walking in that the wait would be over 4 hours. It would be helpful to have enough medical staff available to handle the amount of patients that are seen since they do not take appointments. read more

Neither fast nor urgent. My wife had a 1:30 pm appointment scheduled today. We arrived and checked in half an hour early at 1:00. It's currently 4:33 pm as of this writing and she still hasn't been seen by anyone. Staff are letting in patients without masks in the waiting area, in spite of the mask requirement posted on the front door. People are sitting outside in the heat (97 degrees out today) with no one offering even a bottle of water to help them out. Avoid this place if you can. You're better off waiting for an appointment with a general practitioner or the ER than this crap. read more

Overall impression: Impersonal service. Would not return. My employer referred me to one of several medical facilities for a routine drug test screening that had to be completed within 48 hours. I obtained the proper paperwork from HR, and was told FastMed was a walk-in clinic and that an appointment was not necessary. I called the front desk before going just to make sure, and after the automated system placed me on hold for about three minutes to talk to a receptionist, a lady answered by saying, "FastMed, is this an emergency or can you hold?" I thought that was unusual but said I could hold. I waited another three minutes and nobody returned to the line so I hung up. I also checked their website. Because the paperwork said I could go any time from 8 AM - 8 PM, I went at 7 PM after work hours thinking it would be less busy. Upon walking in, I realized it was more of an urgent care center than a screening facility. I stood at the front desk for a good minute and the receptionist, a middle-aged woman with red hair, wouldn't make eye contact until I said hello. She asked can I help you, and I told her why I was there and showed her my paperwork and tried to ask if they did this type of screening at this facility. She said I couldn't do the screening because they shut down that machine at 6 PM. Her tone was very curt. I asked her when their hours were for the screenings, and I told her I tried calling and couldn't get anyone, so I went by what was on my form and the website. She appeared to roll her eyes and said, "Look, I don't know who you talked to, but they're wrong. We don't do screenings after 6 PM. Come back tomorrow." She turned back to her computer without telling me what times I should plan to come in. If that wasn't discouraging enough, I went in the next day just before lunch hour hoping it might be less busy, and the waiting room was completely full. I spoke with another receptionist, a young lady, who was much more helpful and polite. She said there would be about an hour wait at least. I asked her what times they conducted the tests and when might be a better time for me to come back. She looked over at the same lady from the day before and asked her when the best times for a screening were, and the lady again barely looked up, and again said curtly, "Just sometime before 6 PM." The younger lady suggested coming back after 3 PM and said the afternoons were sometimes slower. I ended up contacting my HR department and got the order changed to Quest Diagnostics, a different facility that exclusively does testing and lab work, and I was able to make an appointment the very next morning, and was in and out in 15 minutes, a very pleasant experience. I am submitting the above review in the hopes that perhaps management will make their own assessment of this feedback to improve their customer experience. Since I never even had the opportunity to see a medical professional, I cannot attest to their quality of care. However, if it is this difficult to get information and polite customer service, I imagine this is impacting their business. I would have given only one star had it not been for the second young lady, who tried to be as helpful as she could be. The first receptionist did not appear to have a demeanor well suited to working on the front lines with the public. read more

Slow Med.... I appreciate short staffing..but there's no excuse for front office people on their phone...when you are telling everyone that there is a 3.5 hour wait. Why do you have to keep walking back up to the counter? Why do you have fill out a written copy and then come back up to the counter to get an IPad and fill out the same information? I took my daughter in for a 1inch splinter under her nail bed. Everyone that saw us that day was beyond helpful. Even had exrays taken to make sure there wasnt anything left behind after it was pulled out. Even with Covid going around and sure the staff here have been working through it, they were still friendly and helpful. I want to thank the staff as well as all the other nurses, doctors, that have worked through this pandemic. Ya'll are awesome. read more

It says no appointment necessary but when we went inside we were told that if we didn't already have a scheduled appointment they could not accept us because they were full. Then waited another hour.. in the room.. They seem to more interested in giving drug tests than actually helping someone.. Fast,, no way. Understaffed and seems like they could care less.... I don't mind waiting any extra 20 minutes to get in, but probably being blatantly ignored because I was white.. To add, I could hear the doctor going into other rooms several times while I was waiting there. I will NEVER go back to this place. We checked in and the lady had an awful attitude. She proceeded to tell us it will be about an hour. Well, an hour goes by and NO ONE is called back. About an hour and half comes, one person goes back. At this rate, we would have been there a solid 4-5 hours. We waited another half an hour, nothing. Again, no one is called back. No thanks. My husband walks up to the counter about a refund since we were going to leave and she states that we'll receive it within two business days. Left a review on their Facebook, and they messaged me. I explained everything and they called. They left a voicemail and asked for us to call back at a number and extension. I've called several times, no answer and no call back. I messaged them about it, and they have read and not responded to it. I don't know about y'all, but $119 is a good amount of money to not get back. Being pregnant, I need every bit of money I can keep for appointments and medicine. Oh! And their website is not up-to-date. Says they'll charge one thing and be told different at the counter. This is my second visit to the Salisbury Fast Med. The first was a decent experience for the flu. This visit was disappointing. I had a severely sprained or broken foot and wanted an x-ray to be sure. I booked on line in the morning, picked the first appointment which was 1:35pm and completed all the forms online. I arrived early and was promptly first on the list on the TV in the lobby. So far so good, then I notice that my name dropped to #3. I asked a the front desk about that and was told she doesn't control that. At 2:45, no doctor, no updates....nothing. When I asked how long it would be, I was told probably 3:30. When I asked why it was taking so long they said it was not an appointment and I am just in line with everyone else. I was in extreme pain, no place to elevate the foot and the pain was getting worse. I finally went to the car and propped my foot up on the window. I could have come in when they opened, got in line and been back at home resting, long before I actually got to see a doctor. They could have let me know how long it would be when I got there, put me somewhere where I could keep my foot elevated or offered a bag of ice. When I was brought back, the person helping me was excellent. She was caring, efficient and friendly. The doctor reviewed the findings and options and was friendly as well. Those two are the only reason I would come back, but only if time was not important and I was not in great pain. It was 4:30pm when I finally got to go home. read more

Took a while for me to write this because I've been sick. Came here for flu-like symptoms. Lady at the counter was extremely rude. Doctor and nurse were nice, but all they did was throat swab and nose swab. Came back negative and I was booted out. I asked if I would get any prescription and I was told "nope." No inhaler, no antibiotics, no prescription nose spray. They gave me a printed paperwork dated from 2004 telling me to take tylenol and ibuprofen. I already knew that. I went to another urgent care and they did more vital checks on me than this place, gave me antibiotics, gave me a prescription nose spray, and gave me prescription inhaler. Thanks to the other urgent care, NOT FASTMED, I am doing well. Also, I was considering giving this 2 stars instead of 1 because the nurse and the doctor were genuinely nice, but they didn't help me at all. And that's their job. read more

Saturday morning I called to see if I needed an appointment and they said no, so I told them I was on the way and asked if I could get on the list then, they said no it's fine come in. The receptionist was nice and I got back pretty quick and in the order I came in, which was nice. Then I get to the back and they give me a Covid and flu test, which I knew I had something so that's fine. The rest takes 15 minutes to get results..... I sat in the room for over 45 minutes after getting the test and could hear all the employees talking away outside my room, the walls are thin..... finally the doctor came in, told me I tested positive and said he was going to give me two medications, ibuprofen and something else. He filled the ibuprofen but that was it. So I messaged them and they never responded, but on their portal it does tell you when someone has reviewed the message so someone saw it, but decided to ignore it instead of answering my question about the 2nd medicine. Then I followed up again 4 days after (it says to give 48 hours notice) and still nothing. It's very unprofessional to ignore a message when someone asks a very direct question. Once you leave this place, they don't care about you until you walk in again, and to say they care is a strong word as they don't. They are there to do a job and get you out with zero cares. Go somewhere else if you can. The reviews on this place are horrible all around anyways. The ONLY good thing was the receptionist as she was nice. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. We had an appointment at 5pm. We waited for over an hour in the exam room. When the PA, Steve finally decided to come in, he asked me questions he could have looked at my chart. I was on antibiotics for a bacterial infection (already gave the info to the nurse) and had been coughing and worried I had displaced or fractured a rib. I explained this to him, and he suggested I contact my OBGYN because I might have a blood vessel burst. What?! Without even a simple examination we're just going to pass the buck? He then proceeded to tell me he wasn't going to do x-rays since I am 36 weeks pregnant which is fine if they had just told me that when I checked it because that is literally what I asked for. What's even more infuriating is as I walked out to go to the bathroom (because we waited for so long) the same PA was just scrolling through yahoo news. After, my husband went out to ask when we'd be seen and he said "you're next". Then he proceeded to visit 2 others rooms before us. Unprofessional, not good medical care. If you are sick or hurting, do not go here. They are probably nice people, but horrible at this job. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

If I could leave negative stars, they would be there. I have been into Fast Med about 4 times since it opened about 2 years ago here in Salisbury, NC. The first few times it was great: fast service, wonderful staff, great environment. However, this past time that I went, about two weeks ago, the wait time was TERRIBLE. I had to wait an hour to be seen while there was ONE other patient in the entire building! When the nurse took me back to the room, I told her what was going on to cause me to visit today, and I proceed to tell her that I have been having terrible chest pains for the past few months. Her response was " we don't handle that here, you'll have to go some where else to talk about that." What?! In addition, the "doctor" who came in to check me out said "you probably have the flu so that's all that I'm going to check you for." The nurse that came in to administer the flu test was incompetent, barely placing the stick into my nose at all. (I am a medical student, I know the proper way to administer such tests, and this was not it.) Big shocker, my flu test came back negative, so the "doctor" who came back into the room proceeded to tell me "your culture came back negative, so here's some Zofran and Hydrocodone to help you feel better. You can leave now." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Her precious time was obviously entirely too valuable to spend on me, finding out what was wrong with me if it wasn't the flu. (she spent a total of 4 minutes in the room with me the entire time I was there) She all but rushed me out the door. The next night, I wound up in the hospital, where I was admitted for 4 days, with kidney failure. Great job Fast Med, the ER doctor told me I was lucky I wasn't in a coma. I will NEVER return to this facility, and I will BE SURE to tell all of my friends, family, co-workers, people I see on the street how terrible this facility is. BIG TIP: Clean out that office and hire new staff. Or just shut down for good. read more

I am visiting from out of town and of course I am very sick and not near home or my doctors. With the flu warnings all over the news in North Carolina and hearing about the full beds in the hospitals I knew I wanted to avoid going to them at all cost. I searched and found Fastmed online and even though I read the negative reviews before going I really had no choice. And I am sure glad I did go. My experience was nothing but great! So good that I felt I needed to take a moment to write a positive review which is something I don't do on webpages. I was greeted before I got to the counter by a very friendly staff member who welcomed me to the clinic and to the area when I told her we were moving here from PA. She thoroughly explained the forms. Was very helpful. The waiting room was cheerful and clean and sanitizing soap and masks were available. I waited maybe ten minutes. The nurse was extra cheerful that took my vitals. The doctor today was Brian O'Connor and he was genuinely a very nice man. He sat down and really listened to what was wrong with me and did not brush me off. As a matter of fact in talking with him I found he worked in cardiology and he took the time to explain a procedure I have been told I need from my doctors in PA. Completely unrelated to my illness today. He obviously was knowledgeable and well versed and he made me understand this future procedure a lot better and for that I am grateful. That was just an added bonus. (I wish I had asked if he took on new patients at his practice). I was in and out in an hour. This place is horrible!! I took my son here because his pediatrician' office wouldn't be open until 10am. So I brought him here at 8:15am (15 mins after the office opens). The receptionist took our info. No mention of any long wait times. There were maybe two people in line ahead of us. We waited 2 hrs before being seen. I was genuinely upset. This isn't an ER. I did give the staff an earful. If there are only two PAs on staff at all times, then this is a terrible business model. I won't be back. I did contact Fast Med on Twitter and I sent an email to the office in Clayton, NC. My employer also recommends its associates use this facility. I took my granddaughter to get checked out for an ear infection. Upon entering the facility was very clean and we were greeted right away. Once checked in, it took over an hour to be seen. This wouldn't haven't shocked me if there had been many people in the waiting room. However, there wasn't. My granddaughter was crying with her ear hurting so bad and wanted to leave as the seats were not at all conducive to holding a 4 year old for any amount of time. There was a girl who had hurt her arm and during the course I was there, 3 people who were there for drug/DOT test. Everybody was seen and had left before we were even called back with the exception of one man, that had walked in about 5-10 minutes before we got called back. The doctor was very nice and it didn't take long to get to see her after we were put into a room. However, it then took another 15-20 minutes waiting on getting our script. Total we were there for over 2 hours. Even though the doctor was great, it seems like they are much more interested in the drug testing and DOT side of business than true urgent care. Just seems like a crying child with an ear infection would have been seen before 3 drug/DOTtest were done. The doctor even said she could hear her crying in the waiting room from the back. My 3 year old son had strep throat, the actual service while we were there was great, but they prescribed a liquid antibiotic that my son refused to take because of the horrible taste. I called them back and made them aware of the situation, since I can't forcibly make him swallow the medication, I requested they call in a different prescription for antibiotics (the pink bubblegum stuff). They assured me they would call it in in the next hour, three hours later they had still not called it in. I called them back to see when they would be able to call in the prescription, and I was very rudely told "we will get to it when we get to it". Meanwhile my son is still running a 102 fever and still can't start antibiotics because they are "too busy" to take two minutes to call in a prescription. I understand they may be busy, but when you say you are going to do something, then don't follow through with it, that's an issue. I was polite and professional when I called, and I expect the same from a business, especially when there is a 3 year old suffering from their incompetence. read more

Truckers Beware!!! If i could give negative stars i would. Went there for my physical for a certain truck driving school around the corner. First off even if you do the online check in, they make you wait for hours. I walk in and they test my urine, come back say i have diabetes. I am not a big man, under 230 and asked for a retest, they wanted more money. The doctor who did my physical, kept trying to up-sale me like she was a waitress at Chilis. the only test she did not offer was the Ac1 which is the test for Diabetes. Gave me a three month pass for my permit along with a whole lot of judgement. She said my school and company would be fine as long as i went to my Dr and went on meds to control. Fast forward two weeks, my company revoked my pre hire and the school told me i can not come back till i have a course of action. I am unemployed and have two children in diapers at the moment and decided i would go another place ( Pro MEd) I go in there and take the same physical and they said i have no diabetes and not even close to pre diabetic status (5.2 on the Ac1) I went and complained to the fast med. The office manager did not return my repeated calls. I then escalated to corporate who said they would call me back two days later and discuss the situation, Fast Forward a week still no call back. I call them back and they said they would look into the situation. An Hour later they call me and said there board of directors said they do not issue refunds because that is what there machine said, i even offered to submit to another test or send them my results. When i asked what the stranded of care was for diagnosing Diabetes, they would not divulge that information and i asked for the names of the people who made said decision, She said she did not know. Total Scam! Truckers Beware. Come Monday i am filling a complaint with DOT. TRUCKERS go somewhere else. I was only looking for a sorry and maybe a refund, but they were arrogant and said in so many words they don't care.They are also more money then Pro med by a good 15 dollars. read more

I came in after hurting my finger playing softball. Right off the bat (nope.... pun was definitely intended) I was greeted by a friendly lady who offered me a bottle of water while I filled out paperwork. After being triaged I was seated in the exam room and within 5 minutes I was checked on twice to make sure I was comfortable and to apologize for having to wait. The PA that I saw (Bianca I believe) was super friendly. She ordered x-rays on my hand. Upon initial review she said that there was no fracture. However, what really surprised me was that she said it would be looked at by a radiologist as well to be sure. I am really not used to a medical professional being so thorough. I was treated for a sprain and she took the time to make sure I understood everything. Later I received a call from he saying that another doctor found a fracture. I was so impressed by this because it is very rare to get this much attention to my care and the fact that they made sure that they were giving the right diagnosis really was comforting. The care that I received here was TOP NOTCH! I know where I will be going next time I need any medical attention. read more

I visited the emergency room December 2018. Although not completely the nurse practitioners fault, after a 3 hour wait I was finally seen by Mr. Hinson. What I know NOW is that I had seriously injured my back and have a compression fracture in my L3 vertebrae. First error by this emergency room team, was apparently x-raying my back while I was laying down. During subsequent visit to an actual doctor, I was told that you never Xray the spine while laying down and in a matter of about 5 minutes, they X-ray'd my back standing up and it was VERY obvious what had happened. At the emergency room I was also told I had a rather severe bladder infection ???? News to me (think I might have noticed that) and was given antibiotics. They never shared those results with my Primary Care Doctor (which they said they would) and when he tested me also, no infection. I was told later by a nurse that often when they find nothing...especially when they make you wait 3 hours for virtually nothing, they will diagnose a bladder infection and give antibiotics. That way it makes it seem like they did something. 2 missed diagnosis, one of them severe. I will NEVER go back to Stanly County Hospital's emergency room. They never checked on us, didn't ask if I needed anything for pain, at one point I asked if I could lay down somewhere because I was in such pain and they told me no. They were able to go on a McDonalds run for themselves but even an aspirin for me. TERRIBLE customer service and sub-par medical treatment. read more

I was placed into a room and then I was told there was a computer glitch and the Dr. wasn't sure which room I was in or which patient was in which room? Anyway I waited 45 minutes after I was placed into a room. The Doctor gave me some lame excuse about a computer glitch. This isn't a large hospital filled with chaos! I filled out paper work regarding my flu symptoms and I told the nurse, too. When the doctor finally saw me I had to go over my story again. I don't think she ever read the paper work. Then I was given a prescription. The Dr.'s visit was $135 then another $180.00 for prescription!! I spoke with the pharmacist and said she said I could get similar results with over the counter meds. Instead of paying $180, I spent $22.00!! This place is nothing but a complete waste of time and money!! It seems like a scam to me!! read more
