Once I was in, I was helped by two doctors and they were both the best medical staff I have ever had! I am writing to bring to your attention the unsatisfactory experience my mother had during her recent visit to your medical facility. She was provided with an iPad to sign in, but required assistance, which the two ladies present, Annie and Valencia, were unable to offer. My mother returned later with my son, who assisted her. I contacted your office to obtain the names of the receptionists involved and was told that Annie and Valencia were the staff members on duty. Annie mentioned that there were many patients waiting, which was inaccurate, as only two people were in the waiting room. Patients requiring medical attention may want to consider alternative options. The customer service provided was inadequate. Would leave zero stars if I could. I went on a Monday for a back injury then fell ill with a high fever that night. I called the next day, Tuesday and the lady on the phone told me I would be able to come back without having to pay the co pay. I then called back saying I was too sick to make it that day. She then told me I would be able to visit the next morning, Wednesday also without paying the co pay. When I arrived Wednesday they had to get the manager on the phone and find the girl I talked to the other day. They then told me I misunderstood what she said and would still have to pay the co pay. I went to this urgent care with a UTI and a kidney infection. I tested negative (studies show UTI test strips have about a 30% accuracy rate) and explained that the last time I had a UTI I also tested negative but antibiotics helped. I explained I had painful, frequent urination, pain in my urethra, pain in my back and ribs, and I could literally feel my kidneys burning. The doctor talked to me like I was 8 years old. They insisted it must be chlamydia/gonorrhea and did 2 pelvic exams. There was a man in the room, not sure what he was doing but if they needed an extra hand there were plenty of female nurses/tech. They did not bother to ask if I was comfortable with this, at this point I was already sobbing so I didn't say anything. I have sexual trauma (like MOST women) and they were not gentle or considerate of this. They didn't believe I could have a UTI and told me I would be treated for chlamydia/gonorrhea (which I also tested negative for). They did a second pelvic exam and told me to go to the ER for PID/abscess. They didn't find anything at the ER and they sent me home only with IBS medication for reasons unbeknownst to me. I called the urgent care the next day to ask for antibiotics and they refused because I tested negative. Went to my OBGYN and guess who tested positive for a UTI/ kidney infection?? I keep hearing her outside the door, and she's even mentioned my room number, and that she will be going in to see me...30 minutes ago was told she would be in in a couple minutes...yet here we are. I'm not sure if she's having her Christmas dinner, opening gifts, or telling jokes. Still f'ing waiting. Why oh why, did I decide to give this place another chance? I usually use telehealth apps for my health care, unless it's something that needs treatment or testing in clinic. But for my daughter having a fever of 102, I wasn't going to risk her not being seen in person. Big mistake. I can't say if the medical care she received was excellent or terrible, as I was not there; her father took her. What pissed me off as a concerned parent, was the fact that with my employer-funded commercial PPO health plan, it was somehow "REQUIRED" for my husband to pay a whopping fee of $180 upfront. Every other clinic we've visited has filed my insurance first, and then billed me for anything owed. CPT codes and ICD-10 codes are needed in order to file a claim, and then adjustments are made between the insurance company and the clinic for proper payment. How do I know? I've been working in the medical field for 22 yrs, this is nothing I don't know. So for a fee to be charged upfront without knowing what CPT code will be used for my child's visit is absolutely mindblowing. Is whoever made that rule a mind reader, knowing exactly what treatment each patient will receive and charging them all the same, BEFORE insurance is filed? This is my final straw with this place. It's my own fault for giving them a second try. I wouldn't deny my daughter care because of a fee, but best believe I sure as hell wouldn't pay that amount upfront without them knowing what's going to be done. Definitely need to remove the "fast" and "urgent" from the sign. I'm all about waiting, but after scheduling appointment, I was still waiting in lobby over an hour. Got into the room and waited another hour. Then finally got my meds called in an hour later and they spelt my name wrong, so a 9am appointment turned into a 6 hour journey to get seen and meds given. Better off just going to the local ER without an appointment for better service. I understand people are short staffed, but adjust your booking times for appointments then, don't just book every 15 minutes when you know you can't handle it. Don't expect a walk in either. Said augmentin best treatment best drug ... not so. I wanted aggressive treatment two shots a z pack and fluconazol. This NP refused. Gave me shit for wanting a steroid shot that I wasn't even sure they gave me. Two days my left ear is on fire hurts like hell! My snot is so thick it's epic . Rocephrin would have dried it up . Decadron reduced inflammation. Z pack would have kicked the rest of its ass. And I'd be feeling better. How many sinus infections does a nurse of 57 years old need to get? Went in with an obvious infected spider bite. Lady walked in looked at my leg and said antibiotics. Brief rundown on how to take and left. Didn't ask any questions. Literally there for a couple of minutes. Didn't bother to examine. It wasn't like their were a bunch of people, just one person in waiting room. No bedside manner what so ever. This profession consist of actually talking with patient and finding out if I am having any other symptoms instead of just stating the obvious and leave. Finally went back to my room 5:15 nurse swabbed me and I sat there till 6:15 just for the doctor to walk-in tell me it's allergies I needed Zyrtec and sent me on my way! This place is a joke. I went in yesterday with a frozen shoulder. The Dr poked, prodded, and hemhawed. Then, he used his stethoscope and made disparaging g comments like "That's vast". I didn't know what he meant, so I asked. He just showed me the reading on the stethoscope as if I were a child being chided. He said my pulse went up 20 just from standing. My pulse probably went up from all the pain he caused yanking my arm up. Then, he stated he didn't know what was wrong, that he had written his Master's thesis on the shoulder, and that trauma is the only thing that could have caused it. Well, even I without a degree such as his know better. Arthritis? Rheumatism? Etc? He wanted me to go to the er and said he would call ahead. I said no. He restated his degree, etc. and made me feel as if I were signing my own death warrant. He left the room and I heard him talking about my case loud enough for me to hear which, in turn, means that other patients could hear it as well. Pretty sure this is against HIPPA. If not, it is at least a lack of ethos. I am much better today and even without the prescription for pain pills that he gave me. I chose not to pick those up. I guess the arm stretch along with his stretching of the truth did me some good. Doing yardwork today. I'm done with this joke of a place. I went to Fast Med on Saturday to 'doctor-up' my finger that I smashed in our siding glass door. They x-rayed my index finger (3 pics) , but didn't cover me with any protective gear for the radiation. Not good! I then asked, while I was there, if I could also get the flu shot... Although the lady who gave the injection was really sweet, she gave the injection waaay too high on the shoulder, it was the most painful injection I have EVER recieved. I now can't move my arm or shoulder, at all!!! It's now Monday and it has NOT improved, not even 1%. I tried Tylenol, heat, ice, blue emu oil, Salonpaas...when I left, they asked me what my pain level was... I told them that my arm now hurt worse than my finger. Still, 2 days later, my shoulder/arm is non-functional... I look like a T-Rex, I can only move my arm from the elbow down. Worst pain ever!!!! read more

Giving three stars because I was actually treated well by the medical staff here. My issue is with the billing department. I submitted my card for my health sharing plan which is supposed to work in the same way as normal health insurance. It has an address to submit claims to, group and policy number etc. Billing never submitted it to the health sharing company for review or payment. Instead they sent it to my expired health care provider then sent me a very inflated bill which was well over the stated self-pay price posted on the wall and website for the services I received. I sent notice that they did not submit my claim to the provided at the time of services and should have received at the bare minimum a lower negotiated rate, certainly not more than the stated amount. FastMed never adjusted the amount or sent a revised statement. Now they sold my account to collections. The lady who called from there today also told me that FastMed never remitted my file to my HealthSharing company "because it's not insurance". How does that prevent a company from submitting a claim per the instructions on the policy card they were given? They certainly charged me the "Co-Pay" stated on the card like it was "insurance". Came in and IMMEDIATELY told the receptionist what I was experiencing (heart palpitations) and that I wanted to get in an exam with an EKG to check me out. She tells me it's going to be an hour wait and I'm okay with that. I fill out all the paper work in person and online. An hour goes by and I'm like okay I should be in soon. People who arrive after me are going in before me but I presume it's because they are quicker appointments so I'm not too bothered by it. After an hour and 20 min, I ask when I would be in soon and the receptionists tells me there's two more people ahead of me-- okay, so I wait. I witness two more patients go in and I'm thinly im finally next. Right at the two hour mark, the receptionist calls me over to inform me that "unfortunately" they don't have an EKG machine and that they would have to refer me somewhere else. Are you kidding me? Why check in online, wait two and half hours for your scheduled time, only to be told it's a two hour wait when you show up? When questioning this, I was told "this is a walk in clinic and when you check in online it reserves your spot in line starting at that time." In other words folks, if you go online to check in and the time to check in is any other time besides the current time, don't do the responsible thing and check in online, just walk in..... Otherwise you'll experience what I experienced.... Getting told that it would've been faster for me and my sick kid if I had walked in 2 1/2 hours earlier when I thought I was doing the right thing by checking him in online at that time. I tried to request the good ones but they don't have a schedule. The only ones that are there regularly are awful! One dismisses you & the other makes fun of your symptoms. Not cool & not worth your money & time! I've been approved to go to a different WC facility after proof of negligence on Fastmeds part. I went in for a Covid 19 test with my daughter over 2 weeks ago. They came back with negative results after 6 days. I still don't have my results despite our tests being done less than 5 min apart. I have called several times and was told they would call the lab and call me back a couple days ago and still haven't heard a word. Waste of my time but they have certainly processed the insurance claim. Won't be going back there. They get a 2 because the nurse was nice - we waited over an hour and no one was there someone said they were printing paperwork...my daughter explained I needed to get back to work and she then came in a couple minutes later - 1st words were you can't go back to work for 2 weeks. I followed up with I work from home, which doesn't mean I don't need to get back to work. And if I was out for 2 weeks waiting for results we are passed that so I guess I'd still be stuck. So glad I don't feel sick...who knows if I am or not...I asked them just to tell me if something happened and a mistake was made...I was assured they made no mistake. Great staff. Nurse Alanna is so friendly and encouraging as she is sticking 3 sticks up my nose and one down my throat (which I agreed to to test for). She was sympathetic that I felt so bad with no voice and read my notes. Then PA Bryan was awesome. Took his time with me, answered all my questions and actually thanked me for asking them. Said he enjoyed explaining why physicians do what they do and why. Explained their thought process and why they prescribe or diagnose the way they do (because I'm not one to throw a bunch of meds at and he appreciated that) I'm careful what I put in body especially now that I am exclusively breastfeeding my baby and he so respected that as his wife has done the same for their children and he is encouraged me confirming that my baby is completely healthy because we know that even though I am sick as the mother, that my body is fighting off the virus and creating antibodies through the breast milk that's being fed to my baby and that me feel awesome. I've worked through mastitis twice and baby's tongue laser procedure when he was five days old because he was tongue tied baby. I was sent here by the VA. I am 75 years old, high blood pressure and boarder line diabetic. During Pandemic, I arrived late afternoon. Appeared to be only patient there. Entering, desk person pulled up her mask. Directed me to examination room, handed me electronic pad to input info. It was full of finger prints. Obviously not sanitized. Nurse enters, earring mask only. Touched me doing vitals and handled my 6 medicine bottles. NP enters waring mask and gloves. Touching me all over, with gloved hands, during examination. At every event, not one person ever sanitized in front of me. There was a hand sanitizer dispense on the wall next to the door, but never used by staff! I was very uncomfortable there and felt " dirty" because of lack of appropriate hygiene during Covid 19 Pandemic. My wife had same experience two weeks prior, apparent same staff. Almost a complete waste of time and $90. The M.A. didn't know the difference between an IUD and the arm implant. She didn't know the difference between ADD and ADHD, even though apparently her son has one of them. When I replied with, "You're asking me?" she said, "I can ask questions! We have to memorize a lot of stuff!" Like, come on. You chose this profession and that is pretty common knowledge, especially in the medical field. The doctor/practitioner didn't seem concerned about the pelvic pain I'd been experiencing for several days, which got so bad I could barely sleep. She spent less than 5 minutes in the room. Didn't check that my IUD was in place, didn't check for PID or consider endometriosis. She literally just told me to take some ibuprofen. Didn't care about the source of the problem, just throw some OTC meds on it. As if I hadn't already tried that to no avail. To which she responded, "Take some more." Couldn't have felt less personal or cared about. Spent $90 for a doctor to dismiss me in 5 minutes by telling me to take ibuprofen. What an absolute waste. Not giving 1 star bc they were speedy and clean. Still don't recommend. read more

Worst urgent Care I've ever been to. Customer service was awful, staff was unfriendly inexperienced and in the case of PA down right negligent. I took my daughter there after her fever wouldn't break (only symptom she had, wasn't throwing up etc) after arriving it took forever to see the PA. Upon seeing the PA I was criticised for not bringing my daughter in earlier. They didn't have a flu test so they just diagnosed my 4 year old with the flu and prescribed tamaflu and antibiotics. Then they refused to send the prescription to my pharmacy and would only send it to Walmart because they were sure my pharmacy was closed (it wasn't) Any way my 2 year old had similar fever the next day so we went to Dr and neither have flu. I recommend staying away from fast med you'd be better off driving to South Austin. read more

Okay... this is my third visit here... I tried to have patience for the lack of professionalism with the staff here... in detail when I mean professionalism I talk about how I had to call several times for lab results and each time I received different answers from giving me results of one test one call and then saying they didn't have results on the same test on the next call. . Today one of the nurses who took me into one of the rooms brings up the fact that I had had problems with them before because she recalled my name and was one of the ones who I spoke to for lab results (the lab results fiasco was back in December 2019) ... firstly why bring that up now? THEN I hear her telling the others at the nurse station about how I said how unprofessional they were... Hahahaha... not only unprofessional but catty af here!!! This is the level of professionalism I talk about at this place. I'm gonna just avoid this mess and make an Appt w my pcp instead. I don't trust their abilities here and the cattiness my god. I want to applaud the staff working, at they kyle location on 2/20/18. I got a call from my daughters school, stating she was complaining of difficulties breathing and tightness in her chest, naturally as a mother i was concerned. On my 45 minute commute from work to her school, I tried to schedule with her doctors office at any one of the multiple locations in the kyle, Buda and austin area. I even requested any location that could get her into, as I would drive to the ends of the earth to make sure my daughter was okay. After unsuccessfully not getting an appointment with the un-named practice we typically go to, I decided to find an urgent care. From the time we arrived at fast med in kyle we were greeted kindly by Edwin who was attentive and polite even made a friendly suggestion for a primary care office that was not affiliated with the joke of a practice we generally go to. John was particularly very friendly and kind as well, listening and explained things very thoroughly. The PA-C S. SELF WAS AMAZING! Her bed side manner, how she addressed my daughters concerns and explained her medical opinion and advice was wonderful. She was very personable and spent what I would concider, especially for a urgent care a good amount of quality time. We did not feel like "the next number" - I was disappointed to find out the PA-C S.Self doesn't work for another practice, simply because I would follow her to care for my family's medical needs. Over all wait time wasn't too bad for an urgent care, we are at peek of flue season and considering a MULTI chain well known medical practice was not able to see us and we waited less than an hour. My experience was a nightmare. I am pregnant and was sick with stomach flu for 3 days. I desperately needed an IV of fluids. I had to argue with the doctor about my needs and concerns as she said my vitals were fine. Uneducated doctor and nurses. Two nurses couldn't put my IV in. Doctor then came in to attempt the IV and did it incorrectly. My blood went flying everywhere. Doctor did not apologize. She just said "told you there was a risk of bleeding." Terrible bedside manner. I was there for over 3 hours. I will never go back, EVER! This place is a joke. read more

Great experience at the FastMed Clinic in Kyle. I was a walk-in and was seen very quickly. The front staff was very responsive and professional. The doctor/EMT was also friendly and professional.
