After speaking with the receptionist I was informed that this FastMed location is short staffed and they absolutely do not honor appointment times. I needed to get a hepatitis B shot for my job and I called beforehand to see if they could and the woman on the phone told me they could. I get there with my paperwork my supervisor gave me and the woman at the front desk takes the paperwork and says "who gave you this?" with an attitude. When I told her my supervisor she was like this needs to be signed even though it has her name at the bottom. There is a way to talk to people and she clearly doesn't know how to do that. She had an attitude and acted like she hated her job as soon as I walked in. I just left after she had an attitude and I hope she has the day she deserves. read more

As someone who has visited this location several times for both myself and my wife for issues of varying severity, I feel the need to share an honest and positive review. Like many healthcare processes they may have issues with timeliness as stated in some of the reviews, but from our experience, if you book online and then call ahead they are communicative and honest if there will be a delay. As for the documentation requirements, just ensure you arrive with insurance cards and IDs as any medical office requires and they will process you and see you. Once you are called in the PAs, Nurses, and Drs are very attentive and willing to communicate in an open and honest way, taking time to ask in depth questions and ensure you get all of the answers you might want to make you feel more comfortable and come up with a care plan moving forward. They are very transparent about the services they can and cannot provide at the facility. This is not an Emergency Department or Primary care and you should not expect either going in, they are however a great urgent care facility with professionals wanting to do all they can to help. I just left the urgent care at 10:30am today and I was treated like I was the problem at her job. Don't know her name but I know she was working today 10:30am today and talking me while raising her voice because I needed a signature for my tb test. I've never been to an urgent care where you get tests and there is no signature to be found. Correct me if I am wrong. All I wanted was a signature and I was encountering a problem and she had no way upon recommending something else, nothing at all. Scheduled an appointment and came in at my appointment time to be told it'd be an hour an a half wait, which would be quarter hour to closing time (if I was seen at all). In addition, there wasn't enough seating in the waiting room for me if I'd have chosen to wait and the receptionist seemed like she didn't want to be there. I would literally rather set myself on fire than receive treatment at another fast med. I would honestly suggest my colleagues visit a back alley healthcare provider to perform an intricate and invasive surgery with rusty tools than receive treatment from your facility and staff. As far as feedback is concerned, I would recommend doing your fucking jobs and providing a level of healthcare that is above a fifth grader pretending to play doctor. Also, fire the PA in the boot. I wasn't even aware that Shitbag University had a medical program. I hope you found this feedback more useful than I found your entire staff to be. Have a wonderful rest of your day. Oh, where do I start? At check in, Tanya, was incredibly rude and loud. She told me my insurance wasn't going to cover a COVID test without symptoms. I kindly asked her to check my intake form, where I wrote I had symptoms. So, after this rash encounter with her, the entire lobby now knew my business. Thanks Tanya - you need a job that doesn't involve working with people! Tanya made sure to reassure me that my insurance wasn't going to cover my test without symptoms, in a loud, demeaning voice. Then, the back office forgot me in the exam room. I was waiting forever (55 mins) to get "discharged" by the doctor. They closed up and locked the doors, lights were being turned off. So, I finally peeked my head out of the room and the 2 staff members that remained, looked surprised. The doctor admitted that he didn't know I was in there. He said "The computer skipped over Room 1, give me two minutes". He apologized, but does that make it better? He didn't even come around the corner to speak to me, he just shouted from over the counter. I feel so terrible. I dont even know what to say. I left in tears. Just find another place to get care. Great place to have a doctors visit. It's not to big or to small. The care you get from this place is I would say it has a personal touch. I have a new doctor there and I'm very pleased with him. This doctor really listens to me , he has what the baby boomers call excellent bedside manners. If you are in need of a checkup or walk in visit.. Had to go in somewhere for a sinus infection which my doctor was too busy to see me. Went online at 5:30 am and made appointment. Appointment was at 8:30 am. Never have I been taken in on time. This was on time and the nurse could not have been any nicer. She got my vitals and wanted to know if I wanted a Covid test just to be sure. I said yes and she swabbed my nose with gentle care as my nose was so sore. She advised the doctor would be in in a few with the results of the Covid test and my diagnosis. The doctor came in and told me that I was negative on the Covid test and said that I had a sinus infection. I was in and out of there in 30 minutes. Medication was called in to my drug store and was ready upon my arrival there. One of the best experiences I have ever had at at any doctors office. I had a 9:15 appointment. It has come to my understanding that appointments don't matter. I got here at 8:30, and there was no doctor. After waiting we get in and start registering (I registered last night online) and I don't know what I had to do it again. Patients are starting to be seen and 2 hours later we are still sitting here. People who got here after me are going in before me. This place is terribly slow. I hear them telling new people coming in that it's a 2-3 hour wait for a simple COVID-19 test. Administration really needs to take a look at how this place is run and ways to improve it. read more

The family doctor is excellent, he always is concern with what you have and take care of your concerns. He takes time and not in a hurry to send you off. The nurses there are sweet and kind. Woke up sick at 8am, tried to call this location 4 times with no answer. By 10:30 I decided to go online to make an appointment. 1st appointment available 4:30pm. I get here at 4:15 to be told it's going to be at least an hour to an hour and a half. At 5:30 I go in to make sure they haven't forgotten me. I'm told it will be at least another half hour to an hour more. This is totally unacceptable and cruel to sick people. Why does this location only have one provider knowing this will be a busy week following the holidays. I brought my 18 year old son in for a serious foot injury for both care and X-rays. My son is on my insurance. He filled out the required paperwork then was asked for ID. We said he doesn't have an ID yet. They refused us Care. A former Marine was next to me and had the same issue with his daughter at the same time. The manager told us to leave. I called UNC Urgent Care on 42 across from the hospital near Clayton. I told her the story and she said to come in they'll take care of him. They did and he received the proper care and X-rays. To be refused care is a shame on them and I'll never step foot in that FastMed Urgent Care ever again. They're kind of a royt he road from Lowes at 40/42. Avoid them read more

My wife brought our desperately sick 17 month old here today, here is her account: The 2 hour wait (with only 4 people ahead of us) would not have been horrible, if my daughter was treated properly. Pretty sure a man coughed up both lungs while waiting for over an hour. My sick daughter fell asleep in the waiting room, but the nurse still tried to have me lay her down to be weighed- fair but they never got a weigh and settled on my own word of mouth. Waited another 30-40 minutes and the PA Maggie came in. Absolutely the worst bed side manner I've ever seen, (combined with wrinkled scrubs). She heard her breathing and tried to give my daughter a nebulizer she didn't need. Fortunately, my mother was I. The room and said "can you re-examine her now that she's done coughing?!" Suddenly, she was fine and wouldn't need one.. She scared the hell out of us saying that basically my daughter was going to die in her sleep because of an upper respiratory infection. She used complete fresh out of med-school terminology, saying she has "junky lungs" and "ronchi" cough sounds. Refused to elaborate and literally made my mom cry in the room thinking her granddaughter was going to die. She only checked one of my daughter's ears, never looked at her eyes or throat. We were asked to wait for discharge papers and a prescription.. nurse came in asking if we got discharge papers "No? Oh okay, I'm here to check her oxygen levels.." DONT YOU CHECK THAT BEFORE OFFERING A NEBULIZER?! STAY FARRRRR AWAY!!!! read more

To give you an idea of the kind of care you will get, they served 112 patients with one provider on Tuesday (as per staff member).If you like data, that's 6.6 minutes a patient if every minute of their time opened is only patient care. Our last 2 visits resulted in a return visit within the same week because it took 2x and 2 copays to get it right. Also, good luck getting the same PA because they rotate so they don't know how much you have worsened. The medical assistants are great but this place is about fast cash and not medical care. read more

Extremely negative experience. My mom waited over 2 hours to be seen at another location. When she was finally seen she had everything taken care of except their x-ray machine was broken. We were told to come here to the one in Clayton & we would be seen right away since everything was done except an x-ray. When we got here we were told to wait, so we did. But after over ten minutes had passed & three other people (who had come in after us) were seen we asked what was going on, what the situation was. The lady at the front desk, from the first interaction, was rude and unhelpful. When we asked what was going on their provider came out and told us that even though we had already waited over 2 hours we hadn't waited here (as if that gave us back our time). We were told only one person knew how to use the x-ray machine. So I asked if they were with another patient or what was going on (since, again, we were told we be going straight back). He told us we were welcome to go to another place (which isn't actually true, there weren't that many places we could go at this point). His attitude was honestly shocking. After 40 minutes we were finally seen. It only took 10 minutes before we were done. The waiting wouldn't have been all that bad if they hadn't been so incredibly rude & just told us what was happening. read more

FastMed Urgent Care advertises "NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED" all over their website and location doors. I've now had 3 experiences with 3 different locations where I've been denied service and been told I can't be seen because they're "short staffed" but they can make me an appointment for another day. These experiences were spaced out over 2 years, for different issues (leg laceration/stitches, COVID test and x-ray/tetanus shot) and at 3 different locations (Hwy 42 in Garner, Hwy 70 in Garner and Goldsboro, NC). This business is advertising the "walk in" model without honoring it. Each location said the same thing "we are short staffed with only 1 PA and can't take walk in's. It was a script and it appears this is their new business model. Third time is the charm - I am done with this business. This is a disappointment because it's right near my house and is in network with my BCBS but I am done with being turned away for a hypocritical reason that they advertise is not needed. read more

Unfortunately I had to pay FastMed for my husbands ear infection visit even after they prescribed a medication that he was allergic to. We ended up having to se an ENT specialist to reverse the damage. $300+ and a month later, my husband finally recovers from the allergic reaction and ear infection. Needless to say, I paid the ENT before FastMed. I called the FastMed billing dept to let them know I would like to pay a portion of the bill now and a portion later. They agree, only to send me to collections after the first payment and charge me an $18.79 late fee. I call to FastMed get the refund for the $18.79 and was told no. As much pain as he was in, it would have been more beneficial for him to have waited the 2 extra days until Monday when he could see his PCP. UGH. NEVER AGAIN! read more

I was very iffy about coming here since I am new to here, but I have to say it was a solid visit. Yes, it was busy. Yes, I did have to wait like everyone else, but for a 20 minute wait in the waiting room on a walk-in visit, it was nothing. Only issue was the lack of training some of the front-desk employees seemed to be having, as they screwed up my payment by an extra $45, and seemed very uncanny about using their computer system (believe I overheard them say it was "shutting down" multiple times). However, one front desk employee (nurse?) knew what she was doing, and fixed me up in a jiffy. Doctor's visit was just as exciting as you'd expect a doctor's visit to be, and I honestly didn't have any major issues. I usually never do this but I am angry! I had a billing issue with them . The day I went in they told me my insurance was covered. I later received a bill. After numerous attempts to speak to someone about the bill and I finally got some one that told me there was nothing they can do it was my insurance. Well they should not told me they accepted my insurance I would never have gone in. So I started to pay a little at a time then I did not receive a bill, then covid happen. Then I got a letter from collection with additional fees on it!!! I payed them $50 and they added $65 in fees without telling me. So they extorted $115 from me. I attempted again to call FastMed and I got the same recording I always get "we are closed or unavailable leave a message". I am outraged at their lack of communication and lack of correct information even more upset that they took advantage and I had to pay more money at a time that I'm lucky I can pay my bills! I have gotten in touch with a representative and she told me I never set up a payment plan, but they took my money each time I payed. No one ever advises me that I needed to set up a plan and I explained I never received all these statements that they supposedly sent. read more

I see the doctor every 3 months in order to get my prescription refill and have always has a quick check in except the last time. I went on 6/30 my appointment was at 4:30 and I got there at 4:00 there was only one other person in the waiting room except for people coming in and out for the test for employers. 5:00 rolled around and no one said anything to me. at 5:30 the nurse let me in took my vitals and said the doctor had 2 other patience to see. At 6:15 I was getting antsy and opened the door to the room I was left in walked up the hall and asked a nurse if I would be seen soon. She search for the doctor and I was told she was seeing one last patient. No less than 5 minutes the doctor walked in. My recommendation is that it would be nice to get some feedback from the front receptionist as to the delay. Not once during the time I was sitting outside did the receptionist or anyone else explained to me that I wouldn't be seen until 2 hours later and this is only for a refill. We took our daughter in for an x-ray just before closing. She fell off a trampoline and landed on her wrist and was unable to move it without pain and tears. Even though it was minutes before closing the physician and staff were FANTASTIC! They didn't rush the appointment and truly cared about our daughter's injury and overall health! Went here on a Saturday and I had to prompt conversation when I approached the front desk.. as all three workers stared at me as I walked in. Then, when I do finally speak, I had to guide all conversation. They had attitudes like they didn't wanna be there and I was inconveniencing whatever conversation they were having. I had to do a urine test and they didn't point me to where anything was, they just sat there and cared more about conversing... I had to ask. I shouldn't feel like a nuisance in a medical facility, since you know.. it's your job to help others... but maybe I'm wrong about that. If possible I'd avoid this location in the future. read more
