I work in public safety and most of us who do, want a trusted person to complete our taxes. I was referred to PAM JIPP. From my understanding a lot of people go to Pam for complex tax issues. What I noticed about Pam was, she was very hard to get ahold of on the phone and she would take a very long time to respond to my emails. When finally I was able to have my appointment with her she seemed like she knew her stuff. And recommended me to amend my taxes going back approximately 5 years she charged me $250 per year Amendment. she charged me however $350 dollars to file my current long form. I felt that I was a bit excessive because my coworkers are only pay $200 for the same forms. I felt I was being discriminated against however because of the urgency to complete my taxes on time I went through the process. I would talk to my partners at work who I knew very well about her fees and how she was charging me an extra $150. I mean I've never filed any bankruptcy never owe the IRS any money and I always had my documents with me ready to go. I know my partners were also married to home and have kids so why would she charge me an extra $150? One day I look over and my partners desk and he had a envelope with Pam's card stapled on it. I asked my partner what was in the envelope and he buys me it was a gift card from Pam because he had referred me to her. I immediately thought to myself," I just paid for that gift card" out of curiosity I would ask my Caucasian Partners at work who currently go to Pam ship to file their taxes how much she charge them. They would all tell me $200. I asked my Hispanic partner how much she charged him and he told me 300. You see where I'm going here... I later inquired about my refund balance. I called approximately 10 times and Pam was always in a "meeting" and unavailable. Then she sent me an e-mail advising me that she had the right to refuse me as a client and ended our service contract. I later went back to obtain some documents so I could file my taxes with a different person. I was advised that they could not release any information because I was no longer their client. Oh and I forgot to mention if you pay an extra $300 for audit representation?? Yeah maybe in 5 years when they return your phone call and after they put a lien on your house... To all my brothers and sisters in Tan & Green and Blues, DO NOT GO here.
