The doctor was friendly and ultimately prescribed the right treatment, covering two possible diagnoses at once, which I appreciate. However, the communication was lacking. The discharge paperwork only referenced one condition, with no mention of the second possibility. I only found out because my husband recognized the prescription names. When I asked the staff what the second medication was for, the answer was essentially that it "goes with" the first, which isn't an explanation. Patients need to know what they're being treated for and why, especially when the diagnosis is uncertain.

I thought I had strep throat, as I've never had that either, but I knew my throat hurt terribly bad. If I have to sit at a doctor's office while I feel terrible, this is the one to go to. It's really quite beautiful for a doctor's office, inside and out. That's not the reason I would recommend it though. I was in and out of there in 45 minutes tops. I wasn't in the waiting room more than 20 minutes, and that includes the time it took to fill out the paperwork. The doctor and nurses were nice and very thorough and took the time to explain the prescribed medications and how long I could expect to be sick. We took my son for a physical exam so he could join the wrestling team, and we were in and out of the doctor's office in 30 minutes. Both times we were walk-ins. Their hours are much better than a regular doctors office too, since they are open until 6 pm during the week and 3 pm on weekends. I've heard of other doctors referring to these type doctor's offices as doc-in-a-box clinics, but I much prefer using Urgent Care to a doctor that will make me wait 3 days for an appointment when I'm sick. I think it's obvious which doctors are really more concerned for the patients' health, and I'm sticking with Urgent Care By The Bay for my family's health needs (but they probably won't see us more than once every 2-3 years).

Then we saw Robertsdale Urgent Care on-line and it is 20 minutes from our home and after 4 visits in a year we have never waited more than 25 minutes to receive excellent care from Ms Amy and her caring and knowledgeable staff.
