It was my first time being a patient at this location although I have been seen at others. My fiancé & I didn't arrive until 7:40 but we were checked in & called back immediately. My initial impression of Dr. Roy came while I was still in triage, & he came to peep around the corner at me as if he was checking to see for himself that it was really a patient there. He did not say hello or anything, he just peeped in & looked at me, then proceeded to put on gloves & a mask because I took the liberty in wearing a mask to keep everyone else from getting sick. After triage, the nurse showed us to our room where Dr. Roy was waiting & came in right behind us. The consultation with him was very quick. So quick he was asking 10 questions all at once & I'd say no because by the time he asked all 10; I forgot to mention that everything was a no except the "3rd" question you asked. I proceeded to tell him that I'd been exposed to the flu via my 6 year old son. His response was that, "I did not "look flu-y" & that the flu test takes 20 minutes & he just didn't have time to run a test to confirm or not." I failed to mention that my fiancé works for you guys' company as well, as a lab technician & she stepped in & inquired why would their flu test take 20 minutes when most take 10 or less. He didn't know what to say, his response was that he was calling it bronchitis. So my fiancé asked again, could he at least write me Tamiflu as a precautionary due to being exposed. He said no because he didn't think it was flu & he doesn't write Tamiflu unless the test was positive & he proceeded to the door. So she asks how would you know if you're not going to test especially since he's been very closely exposed? She goes & gets a test herself because we needed to be sure. What's the point in coming to see the doctor, pay a copay & file my insurance if you can't confirm what's wrong with me & not try all steps you could take just because "you don't have time"?? One of the staff told him who my fiancé was & then is when he "okay-ed" the test to be preformed & began to be more "professional". The test showed positive for Flu A within 6 minutes of it running. He still did not want to diagnose me with having flu. I'm guessing he just didn't want to admit he was wrong & still was trying to call it bronchitis. My fiancé saw it was positive, along with all the other staff that was working. The doctor even took measures as getting a magnifying glass & stating that his 20/20 vision & military experience gives him the right to call the test as he sees it. But if 4 people are telling you it's positive; 3 out of the 4 being lab technicians that do 100's of these test weekly, why not listen & write the prescription?? That took all of another 10 minutes to convince him that I indeed have the flu. I hate to write reviews like this, especially having someone so close to me represent you guys but this was by far the worst urgent care experience I'd ever experienced in my life. He was very rude, rushed, & unprofessional. He told me that I said I wasn't running a fever but during triage I was told my temperature was 99.5. That was one of the 10 in 1 questions he asked that I said no to cause I couldn't keep up with all he was asking me. I feel as though, had he taken the time to look at my chart before hand, other than waiting for me at my exam door, he would've been more knowledgeable of my health that night. The staff, on the other hand was amazing! No bad review for them, they all were great from the front desk to all in the back. This isnt directed towards any of them. This is solely a physician complaint! read more
