Last week, I went to Ed's Automotive to refill 3 propane tanks: 2 30 lb tanks and 1 20 lb tank. The two larger tanks were about half full. The attendant put approximately 13 gallons into all 3 tanks combined, but then proceeded to charge me for 19 gallons - as if all 3 tanks were empty. When questioned about this, the attendant said that this was standard practice. It felt like a total scam, but what could I do since they didn't inform me that was how they would be charging for the refill. Also, why on earth would their pump show how much they are pumping if not to charge you accurately???? Anyway, I called around to other places, including Amerigas - which provides this facility with it's propane - and THIS IS NOT STANDARD PRACTICE as the attendant tried to con.

Barely any room to move, it is set up like a cattle chute, the in is just that 'in' only, and out is on the other side of the room, and 'out' only. If there is any kind of altercation with the attendant behind the multi-inch thick bulletproof glass, there is nowhere to go. I love this place. Adrenaline shoots through my veins every time I'm in here at night. Come over and experience how the other half live. They have an old school, two bay service garage that does good, honest work. After getting screwed at a number of different tire stores, I finally found a good place for tire work. I took an old trailer tire here for repair this week. They replaced the tube and even loaded it into my car (in a pouring rain) for just $25. Tire Plus won't even touch an old tire like that. Novak has been a part of this old Czech neighborhood for decades. It's cool to step back in time and see how gasoline was dispensed and brake jobs were done before the chains took over the world. Like other good local businesses, they deserve your support CR!
