We walked in behind a couple. They were seated and handed menus immediately. We stood there (family of 3) for several minutes until another employee walked by and told us to sit wherever. It was us, the other couple, and another girl sitting at the bar already eating her food. No menus came our way so I had to get up to get them. The food took like 20 minutes to get to us despite the pizzas being behind the counter, already done. So , somehow, it takes 20 minutes to reheat their pizzas... Nobody came to check on us during our wait time. So in a nutshell: took too long to get our food, service was terrible, and the place was filthy, but I will admit the pizza was actually very good. Husband and I have been twice now. First visit was good.. food took awhile to arrive..we ordered pizza. The pizza is very good I must say. Second visit we came with 3 of our friends having telling them how good the pizza was the wanted to try it out. The wait staff was busy chatting away the entire tine we were there.. 2-3 times someone from our party had to walk over to request anything, waving an arm and staring at them wasn't working). Husband and I ordered lasagna..DO NOT ORDER THEIR LASAGNA! Both of ours came out cold. My husbands had warm spots around the side but that was it. He powered through his but mine was pretty ice cold so I said something (well a friend had to flag a waitress down) 'Surprised' she took it and returned back minutes later. An obvious trip to the nukebox was made as the bowl was now piping hot and the food suddenly warm. I'm almost 100% sure these lasagna were store bought frozen meals and heated up. The taste was pretty spot on to a micro meal lasagna. And sadly.. we had to pay full price for our disappointing meals. read more

With the excellent food, pizza, salads, lasagna and much more, Faro is a great beachside addition to Flagler Beach. After eating there, we were not disappointed. My husband and I have been regular customers at the owner's other restaurant, Focaccia in Palm Coast, for almost 6 years. We've always been delighted with their food and the good service. This seems to be our go to place when we have the whole family and want to sit on the Ocean for dinner. We can order the kids a slice and it comes out quick while we enjoy our appetizers and drinks. It can be a little pricey but the food is good and the staff is getting into a routine. The owners seem very nice and I do love the wood fired pizza. We accidentally came upon Faro while looking for a restaurant with outdoor seating. What a happy accident! It is a small, well-designed restaurant from the interior to the business logo. Our party of five ordered cocktails and pizza by the slice (the only way they serve it). But don't be confused by thinking of most of the pizza places around Volusia county. This is pizza with a slow- rising dough (think chewy) and amazing toppings (everything from eggplant to artichokes and both white and red sauces). The cocktails were also not the typical overly-sweet mixers you often find at beachside pubs. We had the blackberry and thyme shrub and the bitter spritz--a great digestif! Noticed their bright blue Faro( means lighthouse in Italian)sign as we were driving by. The place looked new, clean, modern, European vibe, we turned around and so glad we did! Greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in. Decent wine list, so much better than the low budg house wines available at most of the beachfront bars in Flagler. Nice glassware, beautiful bar, nice music...I loooooovvvvved it! We were not hungry but tried a slice of pizza! Top notch,true Italian, light and airy crust, delicious. This place is a joke. The only star is for being on the beach. From the poor job training waitress, not clearing food from table, not describing the menu and having no clue to the quality of food, no sides and delivering me a sandwich that should of been on the kid menu for $9, unbelievable. Oh and you will get a kick out of this one, ask for red sauce on the side for your sandwich, you will be told you can't have it cause it's not meant for the sandwich. So loud I couldn't wait to get out of there. It was already so incredibly loud I couldn't think, then they turned on the music. And we were not the only patrons complaining. The people sitting next to us couldn't wait to get out either. The food was average at best, my pizza was cold and not very tasty. Because it was cold the top of it was hard and it tasted stale to me. We waited an incredibly long time for our appetizer, which was shrimp cocktail, maybe 5 pieces of shrimp with a high price tag. The service was terrible. And to add insult to injury, the prices indicate they are certainly proud of their very average food. I wasn't going to leave a review at first, because they are new and getting going. But, the more I thought about what I paid for this distasteful food and service, I changed my mind. $80 we paid with no drinks. I'm highly annoyed. On the upside, the restaurant is cute. read more

I was excited to try this restaurant especially due to the vegan options. It's a beautiful place and we sat outside. Our waiter was very nice but it took 4 reminders to get water. We got the Prosecco with blackberries and thyme and it was basically a half way filled glass of Prosecco with 3 blackberries and 2 sprigs of dried thyme floating around, hence the small straws they stick in the glass. For $11 it should have at least been muddled. We got the Faro salad and it was some arugula with a few chick peas, microscopic pieces of tomato and a very flavorless vinaigrette. We had to ask 4 times for salt and pepper. They waiters were just hanging behind the bar, by the way. Not exactly slammed. I had to walk inside to get the water and salt and pepper. I got the zucchini with kalamata olives and the potato and rosemary pizza slices. The dough was very good and the flavors were pretty good also but I had one olive on one of the pieces of pizza and the potatoes were dry. It just needed to be more voluptuous. My friend's panini was good. It was a not a bad experience but it could be better. Also the waiter had no idea what Rose' was. read more

We are at Flagler Beach most weekends and have several favorite lunch places. We decided to try something new this past Saturday and boy were we disappointed! The building is lovely with big windows, a lovely view of the ocean and brand new. We sat at one of the few available tables and we were immediately asked to move to a high top table for 2 to keep the larger (4 top) open for someone else. We had visits from several of the wait staff but no one ever came back to get our order! We asked for unsweet tea and we were told it was brewing it would be out shortly, never got it! It took 45 minutes to order, only after we asked someone to come take it. We each had a panini, mine eggplant, my husband had the shrimp. It was basically 2 pieces of oily pizza dough with so little in the middle it was a joke to call this a panini!. They literally took 1 large shrimp and sliced it into 2 tiny thin slices! My eggplant was soggy and tasteless. The pizza did look good but not that good to put up with such poor service. We will not be back. There are so many other places that are far superior. Too bad, we were so looking forward to a new place! read more
