This is a new Farmers market that started the Fourth of July 2015. The part farmers market is not…read morelike the one in Pasadena were they have more variety of food/vegetables to purchase but it is new and I think that in time it will be a place where people will come out to hang out like in Monrovia. As for the food vendors... I haven tried too many other than the tamale guy. He sells them for 3-50 and 6 for 17.00. Needless to say I had to buy the value. It made a good lunch the next day. The masa is decent and the tamale is larger than the average. I liked the pork one. I tried beef and pork. It had softer mass which means more lard. It it was good. It is not like the place I go to in ela or El Monte but good for the convenience. I have gone twice here and last night there was another new tamale guy. I didn't try his, only the guy from ingle wood. I also went to the Mediterranean place from Monrovia. 10.00 for a salad, not bad I tried all the combo meat lamb chicken. The shaved ice will be the hit during the summer months. I saw a place that sold grilled whole squid which I thought was interesting. I wouldn't buy it myself personally but I mentioned it to my coworker and she told me she loves it that way. She pays 8.00 and is only 6.00 at the farmers market. They definitely have a variety of vendors and attractions for kids. Come out and support the farmers market if you have time. It is nice to have something in the city.

Recently I saw a board advertising Rosemead Farmer's Market and I decided to check it out…read more [Hours]: Monday from 5 PM to 9 PM; however this market has a history of not opening for an entire year as this is a seasonal market. The market used to be located in Civic Center Plaza, but it has moved to Rosemead Park (right next to the basketball courts). [Parking]: To my surprise, it was not easy to find a spot to park. Rosemead Park is a popular spot for local residents to come and exercise, so I had to park at the lot for Encinita Elementary School. [Amenities]: No dogs allowed in food court. No skateboard, no bike, no scooters, no hover boards, and no roller skates. There are plenty of restrooms in Rosemead Park, but park restrooms aren't exactly super clean. [Vendors]: I spotted jerky, tamales, michelaguas, Hong Kong waffle, Hawaiian shaved ice, two fruit/vegetable vendors, aguas fresca, kettle corn, and miscellaneous accessory stands. Honestly this is one of the smallest and emptiest farmers markets I have visited. The market was pretty dead when I got here at 8 PM and you can hardly call this a farmers market with just two fruit/vegetable vendors. This market felt more like an outdoor food court than an actual farmers market.

If you're looking for a nice evening activity where you can get some fresh air and support local…read moreentrepreneurs, this is a great little night market to do just that! And it's very family friendly - they even have games like a giant Connect Four and bean bag toss! I have to say I was just a tad surprised at the size - the name "night market" gave me visions of something like the 626 market - but this is much smaller so just be aware. But I think that's a good thing - much smaller crowds and more local sellers! There was even a DJ playing fun, energetic music. There are several rows of booths offering all sorts of fun items - jewelry, ceramics, art, crafts, foods and treats- even Halloween items! There was also even a Henna artist. They had several food booths as well - tacos and pizzas, bubble tea and a lovely fruit booth that even had açaí bowls! Yum!! It's in a pretty central location in the SGV and there was plenty of street parking. I read there's a parking lot but I didn't find it - but like I said - plenty of street parking. There was a Yelp Elite event going on but I wasn't part of it this time - just came out to support some local businesses! It's free to enter but they ask that you reserve free tickets on Eventbrite - not sure why though bc there's no check in area or anything - I reserved 3 tickets for my party but couldn't find where we needed to show them - you basically just walk in. Very very similar to the local farmers markets that you'd find in places like Old Town Monrovia etc.

There is plenty of parking for those who would like to drive and park off of Las Tunas. I opted to just walk since I was less than a mile away. For a night market, it was quite small. Two rows of small nic nacks you can buy ranging from jewelry to essential oils. There was a small food section that had Korean bbq, Mexican food and pizza. We opted to try the Korean BBQ from GOCHU Gang. It was very delicious! You can definitely smell it from afar. The only thing was they didn't have their prices or what's on the menu listed on a stand. They did say they had a online menu but there is no posts with a QR code. So we just blindly ordered essentially and asked what they recommended. There were a few stands with dessert such as the cookies from Crackle n Puff and crepes. I do wish the night market was bigger. There weren't many things to see and the stands that were there were very selective. Night markets are usually more successful when there is a variety of stands. Overall, it was cute and small. If you're into a small and free night markets, it would be a cute night out. We spent about a little over an hour there. Just don't have super high expectations like the large night markets.

The band's performance was good! I love the variety of stands. They had coffee, boba, desserts like cookies, waffles, cheesecake bites, pupusas, tamales, hummus, yogurt, tacos, honey, kettle corn, peanuts, and aguas frescas. My favorites were the elotes stand, the stand next to it making tofu skewers, and the hummus stand. The corn was sweet and tasty! The skewers were delicious! The business owner, George, said it was his fourth week at this farmer's market. If you enjoy tofu, definitely give it a try! I also picked up different types of hummus and pita bread. I got basil hummus, chipotle hummus, avocado hummus, and spicy pepper hummus. I also had a taco de birria. The taco had a generous amount of birria but unfortunately lacked flavor. The consome also lacked flavor. I will be returning to try other items and getting a tofu fix!

It is currently back at Barnes Park near City Hall around the tennis/pickleball courts. The band that was playing there 2 Thursdays ago was surprisingly very good. I would go back just to listen to them play. The market has a variety of cooked to order foods, drinks, and kettle/caramel corn. There were only a couple of booths offering fresh fruit & vegetables for purchase. Our highlight was our Leaflet drinks. Interesting flavors and yes they tasted good! We ordered a Blue Butterfly tea, Dear Jasmine coffee and I honestly don't remember the third drink. The dear Jasmine was my favorite but I am partial to coffee. If you are in the area on a Thursday late afternoon -early evening, stop by and enjoy the small farmer's market.
