Brussels still in the field, pruned for cutting.

Stopped by on the first day of Brussels sprouts harvest and was surprised to find artichokes and snap peas too. So excited to fly to current home from visit to the coast w a taste of real home! Oh, and the lady was really nice and chatty. I was able to sample the veg first.

There's no shortage of pumpkin patches in Half Moon Bay. Farmer's Daughter, for me, was a standout for being less crowded and being a simple farm stand with some extra decorative kitsch thrown in to make pumpkin hunting a scenic outing. It's a great stop on the way out of town if you're taking Highway 1 back north since you can just pull right off and park in their lot right off the highway. It's not surrounded by other pumpkin patches with tons of crowds. I really enjoyed the photo ops and "spooky" yet simple displays they put up. Pumpkins were reasonably priced and their farm stand had an array of local honey, brussell sprouts and other farm grown produce. Seems like they also took credit cards. Scenic and cute little stop along the coast along with some larger displays pumpkins will make this a new Grayson stop for me in my annual Half Moon Bay pumpkin trips Review #52 of 100 review goal in 2021

It's pumpkin time, and when I came here a couple of weeks ago, it was pumpkin's galore. I imagine that there's an even greater overflow of pumpkins to pick from now, as Halloween draws closer. This, I must commend them for. The fruit that they carried at their fruit stand however...well, not so much. Not only was the selection slim, but the quality of fruits and veggies left little to be desired. I clearly recognize that beggars cannot be choosers. All said, I took advantage of the free overly ripe bananas they were giving away, hoping to make banana bread with them. I never ended up having any banana bread, however. Instead, all what I got was a massive infestation of fruit flies for the next week after I got them home. If you've ever had a bug infestation, you too know that it is certainly no fun, and a real pain. These tiny, but annoying fruit flies were everywhere, flying all over the bananas initially, then flying all over the house, especially hovering over the garbage, any over any exposed food in the kitchen. I'm just so glad I didn't actually spend money purchasing any of their fruits or vegetables, which I would've been left with no other choice, but to toss them out too. Farmer's Daughter looked like such a cute stop off Highway One, on the way to Half Moon Bay. I'd say just keep on driving, and don't think about making that stop. Well, maybe for a pumpkin.

How can you not love this place? Beautiful location, delicious produce, reasonable prices and lovely staff!

Not to be mistaken for a porn flick. No there are no scantily clad women dressed in tight flannel shirts, daisy dukes, cowboy boots and cowboy hats here. The closest you'll come across one is a scarecrow dressed in the same fashion. Farmer's Daughter is across Half Moon Bay Airport along Highway 1. It's a couple of small stands on the side of the road that sells local fruits and veggies and whatever is in season. The people working here are all nice and friendly. As the Holiday Season grows nearer, you'll see the pumpkin grove along the road and it's quite a sight to see. All that sea of orange behind a backdrop of green leaves and blue sky is a nice contrast and makes a nice photo-op worthy of an instagram pic. In the month of October, they have a pumpkin patch behind the stands and they put all kinds of banners and whistles to attract customers. It works since you'll see rows and rows of cars parked alongside the place. It's not as big or elaborately designed compared to other pumpkin patches in Half Moon Bay, but it's in a much wider and open space compared to the rest. The pumpkins are reasonably priced, but I find their prices during the other season to be on the higher side if you compare them to supermarkets. But I guess you're paying for quality and not quantity.

Local no spray green beans

Roadside stand offering fresh local and organic produce. In the month of October, there is a pumpkin patch with tons of nice pumpkins to choose from. Friendly staff. Across from the Half Moon Bay Airport.

$19.15 for 3 apples, 4 small tomatoes, 4 onions,and 2 bunches of scallions.

Previous time we stopped by there 2 years ago and liked the strawberries and other fruit we have bought. So this time we went to the place next to Highway 1 intentionally. We probably should have turned our back after the girl working there wiped her running nose with her palm a few times. Disgusting! Neither she or guy who also was there greeted us. Moreover, they avoided eyes contact with us all the time. We decided to purchase something since we made a long way for the place. Nothing seemed to be attractive and we bought 3 apples, 2 bunches of green onion, 4 small tomatoes, and 4 counts of yellow onion. We paid $19.15 in cash since the girl said there is 75 cents charge for CC use. What was irritating, the girl blocked the scale view while weighing the staff. So, I think we have been cheated additionally to not cheap prices. When we started leaving, they said something in their own language to our backs and bursted in laugh. Very unprofessional!

Pumpkin patch!

It is NOT closed - just not open all the time. Last stop for vegetables before you hit development going North on Highway One. Expensive but last stop as just mentioned. For cheaper farm produce should buy further south on Highway 1.

I went to Farmer's Daughter yesterday from San Francisco to get pumpkins and have a festive fall experience. It was pretty typical for a pumpkin patch. They had really cool light green pumpkins, some pretty green gourds and, of course, lots of orange pumpkins. We got one of each and some small gourds for decoration. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have cider but they had cider vinegar, local honey and some other produce. I also liked the photo op stage. It would be pretty cute if you were going with kids...or with your 26 year old BFF :)

If you are insomniacs like us, get sugar loaded at the 24 hour Dunkin Donuts Airport Blvd branch…read moreand go browse the wholesale aisles here. Drop by during worker's break around 2am-3am, and you should be able to browse the market without dodging forklifts as much. The floor managers may also be more relaxed by then. Feel free to ask for price (displays rarely have them listed) if you want a case of something. The regulars with shop licenses will get the best deals, but you are still getting a few dollars off here (do your research). They take and print your orders, you take your sheet to the cashier counter to pay. We like fresh squeezed oranges and a case here will save you an average $8-$10 vs supermarket prices and no extra tax. Be ready to fork over cash for "small" purchases.

If you have the urge to swim upstream to find where your food comes from, this is for you. Plan on…read moredodging forklifts, getting weird looks, and not having any idea on prices -- but you'll see some unique items in huge quantities. If you're looking to buy produce by the case or palette, this place is also for you, because they will not sell individual items. This is not a farmers market, it's literally two giant shipping docks dedicated to produce. The website is misleading - they start recieving at 10pm. To buy produce or visit, get there between 5am - 7am; after that some stalls will start to close up. Thanks to management for allowing general public to stop by. I'll be back to get a taste at the onsite bar.
