I feel moved to complain to you about the level of service I recieved from Farmers autocare Marchmont centre in Edinburgh today. I went to Farmers today because I was looking for a quick turn around on a new bearing for my Vauxhall Astra. I dropped the car off at about 8.15 am, when the staff were just going into the centre to start their day.
I made it clear that I wanted the car for the afternoon. I was told that I would be phoned to let me know what was found so we could decide how to proceed. After not hearing from the centre I phoned at 12.15pm. The car had been checked and put aside, this was annoying as I had expected a call, however, Scott said that they could have it ready in three hours.
I went to the centre a little early (about 2.30pm) to find that they had not started on the car. Scott seemed annoyed that I had turned up early and before he phoned. I again asked when the car would be ready. I was told that it would take an hour to do the work.
I went away, my work in Edinburgh now finished and spent some time in a cafe. On my return I was relieved to see some work being done on my car, however, work soon stopped, and 20 minutes later I asked when it would be ready. I was told that it would take another hour... by now it was 5.30pm. I went for dinner. At 6.45 I decided I would just go and see how things were going, to find that my car was finished and noone had bothered to phone me to say.
This has left me livid. I have wasted most of a day's work over this.
As an aside the first price I was offered was £140, I said that this was more than I wanted to pay, the price dropped to £98.. I was surprised that there was as much price discretion as this, this made me wonder whether the first price offered was actually pretty unreasonable.
I do not trust this centre and could not recomend this service to anyone. read more
