This Hy-Vee is huge by small town standards, so learning the grocery store takes a bit more time here. We found everything we needed, but it did take a little more time to figure it all out. I like that Hy-Vee Liquors is attached to the main store and that the wine and beer selection is really good. In hindsight, we over shopped, maybe because we were hungry after a long drive. Our cart did include a bag of chips which were reasonable priced. Check-out was chatty and efficient, and soon we were on our way. Touch up shopping would be done later at the Spirit Lake Hy-Vee.

Called to cancel my pickup order (you can't cancel them online 10 hrs before pickup? Why?)…read more Customer service finally answered and I was put in hold for 20 minutes. Ended up calling back on another phone to get someone to pickup. Why don't your phone lines ring back to somebody after a few minutes? Why didn't SOMEBODY notice a phone line blinking forever? This isn't the first bad phone experience I've had with this location. I HATE calling Walmart!!

My experience and my day were ruined along with my friends. I do not appreciate the service and i will surely not return, especially when craig is working.

I often tell the owners that if The Hen House ever leaves town -- I'm outta here, as welI! The Hen House is my favorite shopping destination in Spencer. I also love to bring my out-of-town company to experience it for themselves, because it's tons of fun! They offer amazing seasonal items, baby gifts galore (ear of corn chew toy is my favorite staple gift), house wares, kitchen/dining, funking jewelry, pillos, lamps candles. . . Oh, and to receive a gift card from The Hen House is like finding a little lump of precious gold in your pocketbook.

And it's time that they step up to keep all of their customers and employees safe by requiring face masks for everyone to enter the store. It's not my intention to minimize the steps that they have taken such as requiring their employees to wear masks and delivering groceries to your car. Those are great steps but they still have a long way to go for everyone's safety.

She held up the line for an extended period of time gossiping with an older gentleman about church matters. Which as your place of work, is in my opinion unacceptable. Then stared at me and my tattoos for an extended period of time before asking in a condescending tone "so, what's that shirt about" a "God's Hate" band tee shirt. It's none of your business what my shirt is about and I don't come grocery shopping to have my life decisions assessed or explain myself to an employee.
