Packages of cheese, meats, cookies, etc. were present for meals and snacks. And for whatever reason, the other Iowa grocery store chain (HyVee) didn't have the same alure or trips to the store. At the same time, I often feel the need to supplement or replace the inventory. Although this Fareway is not the closest one to the house, I often find myself here, as part of my sojourns Downtown. As with any grocery store I don't shop regularly, it takes awhile to get my bearings. But when I do, I find what I need and the folks working here have always helped me out when needed, and with a smile. And even though my last trip only consisted of a can of coffee and breakfast pastry, I've continue to be treated like a valued customer.

I guess it's the West side's turn very soon and I hope for my Son's sake that Mayhem Comics survives. Anyway, the new Corporate Campus Town has a lot of new things including fun and friendly places to grab a relatively quick meal. Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steak is one of those establishments, and I had a really great cheeseburger and fried combination there recently. A beer would have been great with this, but this isn't that kind of place. So I settled for a soft drink and wished I would have gone all in with some frozen custard.

I'll agree that some of the freezer items could be labeled a little better with prices and/or dates, but I haven't really purchased any of those items. I typically come in for different noodles, sauces, and spices. I have found all the prices to be very reasonable, and way cheaper than trying to buy all these specialty items from Amazon or other online vendors. The store itself is a little small and cramped, but that's part of the charm. This is a great store with friendly staff and an awesome selection considering the small size.
