She was nosey, a bully, passive aggressive, and then moved, re-organized and wrote mean messages on my and some other tenants' business belongings with Sharpie without our permission. When I complained about it to her, she told me that the space is owned and managed by her so she should be able to do whatever she wanted. Not to mention all tenants do pay monthly for the space, and the rent/utility cost is much higher than any other commercial kitchens around Seattle. She literally nickles and dimes by a square foot, and her bullying behavior indicated that she did not anyone to succeed. If you are busy, she will be all over you persistently bug you trying to charge more money for more hours. I thought it was extremely inappropriate asking me how much money my business was making. She seems to ask the same question to everyone, so I guess she just doesn't realize how inappropriate it is?? ***Things they don't tell you when you move in*** 1. Schedule Schedule here was extremely strict too. The owners "said" they were flexible on schedule, but that was not my experience with them. They stick businesses in a very strict schedule every week with no flexibility. So plan your schedule wisely, and expect to get a mean email back if you need to move your schedule around. 2. Utility cost They don't tell you when you move in, but the utility cost they charge is brutal too. I was on the $600 per month, plus 7% of their utility bill, with the kitchen usage of 15hours per week plan. "7%" does not seem like a lot, but it is a lot. Every other months, it was like $140, and some summer months it went up to $180. When I was moving in, one of the owners told me the utility is "anywhere between $60 and $85" but it was totally a lie. If you are looking for a shared commercial kitchen in Seattle, do NOT rent at Cookspace. Not worth the stress dealing with the bullying owner, and the extremely overpriced rent.

Throughout my many many hours in the kitchen I found the entire atmosphere there to be welcoming to entrepreneurs and people willingly shared information and resources with one another (more times then I could count several of us would split a wholesale order of ingredients since none of us could afford the minimum amount required from the distributor). If it hadn't been for Cookspace I wouldn't have been able to start and grow my business. As far as unlocked doors and such, in my experience all you would have to do is tell the managers about this and they'd get it taken care of ASAP (usually another business owner just forgetting to lock the door).

Rebecca Sayre of Metropolist is the kind of truly rare real estate pro that actually really cares…read moreabout you as a human being, not just a client. Indeed, you might find that after she helps you find the dream place to buy or rent you are looking for, that you've also found a new friend as well! She is truly not happy until you are happy, and I truly feel she is an absolutely genuine person who is in this to actually help people, not just make a sale. I was introduced to Rebecca when I was desperately trying to find a place to call my own away from the bland, white-walled, noisy apartments I'd been living in far too long. Originally I was looking to purchase a place, and Rebecca was AMAZING in helping me scout out so many great possibilities. She truly went above and beyond to hook me up with showings on my weird schedule, and to walk through each property and discuss not just the pros but also the cons of each one. She did not ever push me to consider a property that didn't actually suit my needs just to try to get my on track to buy. In fact, she was first to point out what didn't meet my wants and needs in a property several times. That's just priceless in a real estate professional! Rebecca found not just one, but two properties that I was seriously interested in buying and would have suited my needs fabulously. I was literally right about to jump on my favorite of the two when her help, support, and positive energy actually directed me into the path of an even MORE terrific opportunity. I was content to buy either of the great properties we found outside the city that fit in my buying budget. However, I actually ended up with a better deal for my personal needs with a long term condo rental literally in my very favorite area of West Seattle on Alki Beach. For my specific personal circumstances, and how much I absolutely love living in West Seattle, this actually ended up being the most perfect solution I could have dreamed up. I absolutely credit Rebecca entirely for getting me there! So if you are considering buying or renting, or even just want to talk to someone about the possibility of looking - I absolutely recommend Rebecca in every regard. She's a consummate professional, but also a lovely and decent human being. Not only will she work hard as hell to find you exactly the home you need and want, but she will do it with care and integrity. I am so glad she was recommended to me, and I highly recommended her onward to all my friends!

Oh and residents weren't actually notified when the drug lab was discovered, instead we found out from another resident the community Facebook page. The location is great--right in the cradle of I-5, 405, 99, West Valley Hwy, 167... yet it is not in a "sketchy" area, despite its SeaTac address. The neighborhood is clean and quiet (with exception of garbage day). It is a fairly young community--aside from a few children here and there, residents seem to be mid-20s to late-40s. It's also pet-friendly, which is a definite plus for us! I am changing my review from four stars to five, because the HOA has gotten a lot easier to deal with since we first moved in. The parking used to be a huge issue, because they did not make it clear where you could and couldn't park, but they have since painted the restricted fire-lane zones, and defined the guest parking more clearly. Homeowners/renters parking in guest spaces is not encouraged, but you won't get towed or anything, either. As far as having signs on the grass (regarding the review before me), the only sign I EVER saw (even at the very beginning) was on ONE roped-off 10'x10' plot, which had been recently seeded. Big woop, now the grass is fully grown and there's no issue (there never was! lol). Bottom line, we are very happy with this neighborhood.

Best summed up from an excerpt from the Dunn & Hobbes website, "Chophouse Row puts the "mixed" in "mixed-use", featuring state-of-the-art creative office space, an extensive retail marketplace and residential penthouses in the heart of the Pike-Pine neighborhood of Capitol Hill. The project combines the historic Chophouse building, built as an auto parts store in 1924 and used for decades as iconic band practice space, with a new office tower that features open plan workspaces with floor to ceiling windows and exposed steel structure. Salvaged materials were used throughout and the building features highly sustainable energy and water systems. A pedestrian mews and mid-block courtyard connects Chophouse Row through to Dunn & Hobbes' other 12th Avenue Marketplace properties." I do miss shuttered businesses such as Amandine, By Tae, Petti-Rosso, and Kurt Farm Shop, but I enjoy revisiting to see what new businesses have taken their place and newer ones to wander through. A big plus is the juxtaposition of the surrounding mixed materials and the sky above. It brings out my inner photographer. Also, the open courtyard is a great getaway especially during warmer months with their variety of outdoor seating and even during crisp autumn evenings when the firepit is lit.
