I wrote this email to Fareshark with no response:
To Whom It May Concern:
I called Fareshark a day before to set up a cab ride. I called your phone number in Minneapolis. An Indian man answered the phone. I had difficulty understanding him. There was a child (children) crying, yelling, or playing loud in the background. I finally believed that I had set up a pickup for the next day at 11 am. The cab was supposed to come to 58th St N, Ramey-Johnson Apartments in Stillwater, MN. I was going to St. Paul Union Station to get on a 12:20 pm bus. The Indian man from Fareshark, said that the cab fare would be 40-45 dollars. I told him about a coupon in the phone book, and he said 40 dollars.
I wanted to make sure a cab would pick me up early, so as to have no problems.
I waited outside the apartment building before 11 am; then the time was 11:15 am. At about 11:30 am, I called Fareshark and got the same man (kid(s) still yelling in background. My hands were shaking and I was getting very nervous.
As I was talking to Fareshark, a taxi pulled up. I told Fareshark (on the phone) that the cab had arrived and hung up. My luggage was put in the trunk and I sat on the back seat. While talking to the cab driver, we both realized that his cab was for another person. I got out and tried calling Fareshark again. I was so nervous and shaky by this time that I could not find the phone number.
I was so panicky that I looked on the internet on my cell phone, and just put in Stillwater Taxi. I called a place called Stillwater Taxi and told the woman that I had somewhat of an emergency. It was getting later; about 11:45 am.
Finally, the Stillwater Taxi came. I was very nervous that I would miss my bus. The cab driver drove faster but dropped me off on the opposite side of the Union Station; so, I had to run to the other side of the building to catch the bus.
The fee for Stillwater Taxi was 60 dollars, plus a tip of 5 dollars.
I just made the bus (last person on). I originally thought by having Fareshark come at 11 am, I could take my time and get to the Union Station early.
I have no ID# from Fareshark, and was not given one. The day that this incident happened was Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
I believe that Fareshark should reimburse me the money that I paid to Stillwater Taxi (which was 65 dollars).
I am 59 years old and on disability. Due to Fareshark not showing up, I went through much stress.
I would appreciate a timely refund of $65, even though I was quoted by Fareshark at 40 dollars, plus I would have given Fareshark a 5 dollar tip.
I hope that this matter is done swiftly, without extra re-questioning, and wasting more of my time. I have many disabilities and this would only exacerbate them more.
I read that Fareshark reimburses customers, who are unhappy with their service.
I tried to find out who the CEO of Fareshark is; I would have called or written to that person. When I do find the person, I would like to send a copy of this email, so as it does not happen again.
Below is my address, where you can send me a check for 65 dollars (which I feel is more than fair, considering the extremely time-consuming stressful events).
