Most Hospitals, Kaiser Fontana included, are already overwhelmed with the number of elderly…read morepatients coming their way. America's 78+ million baby boomers are coming their way and from our own personal experience with our elderly parents - it is very alarming to see how too often with elderly patients facing health challenges - Too many doctors nationwide are turning to the "Do Not Resuscitate (DNR)" as a mean of prioritizing where they spend their time or not. Nothing wrong with individuals and families having a DNR choice but under no circumstances do hospitals or physicians need to provide their judgement on presenting these choices as "Dignified" to let them die and implying that the other choice for "life" is less dignified - like an ER medication doctor presented us with after having been waiting in Kaiser Fontana ER For 6 hours. That was not right. On the other far side of the spectrum is: Dr. Arman Aryai, who should: 1. You tube Videos - First be doing you tube videos to help/train other doctors nationwide and as REQUIRED Training for ALL Personnel at Kaiser Fontana(including ER)on what is the proper way to treat the elderly and communicate with their families. 2. Head of Geriatrics Team - He was by far one of the top doctors we have dealt with nationwide who was "Human and Caring" but very clear on the treatment options/process for our elderly father. He should be made head or overseer of their geriatrics department at this hospital and let me be very clear - we have "0" ties or connection to this doctor. He was simply "Outstanding" in the manner which he treated elderly patient with significant health challenges.

Dr. Ng has been my primary care physician for many years. A very caring, professional - took great care of my father for many years until his passing and has always provided my family with the utmost care. In recent I've been seeing Dr. Shingate within this group and she is outstanding, always very caring, and has always taken a very pragmatic approach to everything and has helped me an immeasurable amount. The staff is caring, professional, always quick to respond, you will not wait too long - always quick to respond and follow up. Overall, a great group. The office is a convenient location, just upstairs in the main Valley Care building - easy to do lab work, x-rays, etc, just down stairs in the first floor. This makes it very easy if you have an aging parent or just hate to drive all over town to get any tests done. I would recommend anyone looking for a good physician in Livermore, either dissatisfied with your current physician or moving into the area, this group will certainly be a good fit.

Dr. Stanley Ng not only has an excellent bedside manner but he talks through all decisions. I feel like he really listened to my concerns and helped me to make informed decisions. Thank you Dr. Kalani for threating patients with dignity and respect. You are awesome and has great ethics in your proffesion. Blessings. The staff is friendly with the exception of the receptionist. She need customer service training. She makes you feel unwelcome. No patient friendly attitude. I took my mom for a test, we got there at 8:30 am and the appointment was at 9 am...there was another patient with an appointment schedule at 9:15. They call the 9:15 appointment before my 9:00 am. When i questioned what was the process in calling people in... i was told ...in the order they come in...which my next statement was...so if i sheduled my appointment at 2 pm and i come at 9 am, i will be seen at that time? Because the 9 15 was seen before me and i have been waiting to be seen since 8:30 in the waiting room...i got inn at 9:45 am. Finally! All of this has nothing to do with the doctor and hopes he reads my review. I would like to see little changes in the front office, thank you.

On October 21st I visited this medical facility for a liver ultrasound scheduled for 2:30 pm. I…read morearrived at approximately 2:15 p.m. When I entered the office , several people were waiting in the reception area to check in or be called for their appointments. At the front desk, I noticed that an Uber driver was delivering Chick-fil-A to a staff member. After waiting a few minutes, I had the opportunity to write my name on the clipboard located on the front desk. Three staff members were engaged in their personal conversation, but no one acknowledged me, so I took a seat in the waiting room. At approximately 2:25 pm, another patient arrived with his wife, the wife signed his name on the clipboard while he took a seat. The wife informed the receptionist that he had an appointment at 2:30 pm ultrasound appointment. The receptionist told the wife that she may take a seat and he would be called shortly. About 10 minutes later, another patient approached the receptionist to ask when he would be called. He explained that he had been waiting since 1:00pm and that his name was first on the list. The receptionist apologized nervously and asked him to take a seat. Shortly afterward, a staff member called him in. During this time, I noticed that the clipboard did not appear to be monitored by the receptionist. The patient who had arrived after me was eventually called before me for his appointment. Around 2:50 pm, another patient approached the front desk and asked when he would be seen because he had been waiting for an extended period. The receptionist nervously apologized and asked for his identification and medical insurance card and told him that he would be called shortly. A staff member from the back office called him in, although he returned approximately five minutes later. I remained the only patient in the waiting room. At one point, a staff member took out the trash out and left the door between the waiting area and the back exam rooms wide open that I could see and hear several staff members conversing , what it seemed like a staff meeting. Although they could see me in the waiting room as some of them were standing in the hallway, I still was not acknowledged or called in. At around 3:10 pm I eventually approached the reception desk and asked if I was going to be called or be seen. I clearly explained to the receptionist that I had signed my name since 2:15 pm and my appointment was scheduled at 2:30 pm and had been sitting in the waiting area for approximately 40 minutes. The staff in the front office became quiet and began working at their computers. The receptionist asked for my identification and medical insurance card, and asked me to take a seat. When I was called into the examination room, I was surprised to learn that although I had been scheduled to see Dr. Kayali, another provider or staff member would be conducting the appointment and the whole ultrasound took only 4 minutes at the most. Overall, I would rate this facility with one star for customer service. I cannot comment extensively on Dr. Kayali because I did not see him, and I have read positive reviews about him. However, the conduct of the front-office staff and the quality of the customer service negatively affected my impression of the practice. I have worked in the medical field as a Patient Service Representative, for many years and based on my experience, the way I was treated on my first visit did not meet appropriate professional standards.
