CAUTION: Watch out for Faolan Siberians, previously Silvermoon Siberians (see online reviews below - which are a few years old but I'm assuming this is what prompted the name change.) There is a recent situation that the owner, Leasa Benefiel, created and escalated to the point of brigading harassment that I believe is important to share with current and prospective customers. Leasa was alerted that one of her previously sold dogs (Skye) was in need of shelter in the Katy, Texas area and she needed a temporary placement for her until she was able to transport her home to Michigan. She was able to find a person that was willing to keep her dog safe while Leasa made the arrangements. The agreement from day one (February 23rd) was that this person could keep Skye until no later than March 6th. Leasa agreed to this and assured this person that a transport had been secured and that she would raise the funds to pay for it. Leasa created a Gofundme and the funds were ultimately raised. Unfortunately, the transport was not secured and this was not communicated with the person that had Skye until March 5th, the day before the agreed upon temporary arrangement was to end. This person then suggested that Leasa look into other options (i.e a different foster, reaching out to rescues/shelters, boarding, rehoming, etc) and made it clear once again that she was unable to keep this dog any longer than March 6th. Leasa did not take any of these suggestions, did not want to make other arrangements, and instead told this person to rehome the dog, essentially abandoning Skye. After this person confirmed Leasa's wishes to rehome Skye, they immediately began reaching out to rescues and organizations to find Skye a safe new home. Because, again, Leasa could not get the dog and the dog is unable to stay with this person after March 6th. Other arrangements had to be made. Reminder - Leasa was unwilling to drive to get Skye, she was unwilling to secure a transport, she was unwilling to set up a different foster arrangement when this one ended, she was unwilling to call rescues/organizations on Skyes behalf, and she was unwilling to board this dog. What Leasa did instead was stop answering texts and phone calls from the person that was now responsible for Skye, leaving them in a very stressful and time sensitive situation. She made posts on Facebook and Gofundme and accused this person of stealing her dog. She sent her friends/acquaintances to harass this person via comments and messages, which could/would be harmful to this person's prospective business ventures. Not once did Leasa attempt to remedy the situation after her initial transport fell through. She expected this kind person to extend her free boarding for Skye with no notice and to make the arrangements for her return to Michigan - which included the financial burden as well as the physical upkeep of a unaltered female husky in heat. Leasa Benefiel is an irresponsible breeder/owner. She was unable to uphold her end of the agreement and is unwilling to take any personal responsibility in this unfortunate situation. She was not willing to communicate properly for the benefit of Skye, neither with this person or her past owners. She is unable to physically and financially secure these dogs. If she was unable to fund a transport of $450, this begs the question of how she is able to afford the proper vetting of all of these dogs and litters. I would never recommend this person and/or business. The good news is this: that Skye will now be receiving all of the proper vetting that was neglected (spay, vaccines, flea medication, bloodwork, etc) and will be adopted to a good home with previous experience of this breed and that comes with stellar references - something that Leasa obviously neglects of her customers. This is all possible through the generosity of the person that tried to help Leasa and other rescue organizations. Again, I reiterate that Leasa Benefiel, the owner of Faolan Siberians, is an irresponsible breeder that does not take her dogs health into account before profiting off of them. She is presenting herself as a licensed business when that is false. She is not licensed to operate a kennel, which means no inspections of her operations. She has had multiple returns of her dogs because of the lack of vetting of her customers, and then immediately resells them or breeds them.
