I had an issue with services at another salon that I used to frequent nearly two years ago, and the stylist had worked there at the time. I had paid €400 for tape-in hair extension maintenance (I now pay €170), and they fell out within a few days, causing a lot of damage. The owner was unwilling to make a new appointment or reimburse me at all. I had to go to a new salon and paid again. Kevin, the stylist at Royal Oak, asked my last name after I'd been sitting there with my hair ready for cut, color, etc., and we said "oh. We recognize one another" Ok. This quickly turned into weird energy and a bunch of whispers with a coworker when I was waiting to have the color mixed. Then he pulled the owner, Kyle, off the floor and discussions continued in Spanish behind the front counter (I understand Spanish). He approached me and told me Kevin was too nervous to cut my hair, and he had no one else. I am moving to France with movers coming at 7 in the morning, and I desperately needed this time for my hair. I informed them of that. I also informed the owner of the previous situation and said this was an extreme and unprofessional response to blackball me because of some old salon drama. I tip well. I am on time. Never cancel. Courteous and polite. Kyle didn't offer to help me in any way. This was also in front of another client. I was told "i hope you have luck finding a suitable salon." My response was "One where I'm not discriminated against?" I left tearfully and went back to my original salon (Wit in Gracia). Thankfully they were able to take an appointment last minute because I'm a good client there and was just looking for a new experience. Seriously shameful behavior. The owner reiterated he had to stand by his stylist. I informed him that I would be sharing my experience via a review, so here it is. I booked the scalp massage/hair treatment & blow dry. The scalp massage was heavenly and the blow dry experience was so peaceful. I'm so happy I found this place, the blow out stayed perfect for like 10 days. I definitely recommend it!
