We stayed here in April which is not a peak season so we were the only visitors here. The owner (Clay) lives very close to the cabins and is available by phone anytime you need him. He is really friendly, a wealth of information about the area and provides charter fishing trips. The fishing in the area is great! We almost limited out on speckled trout before 9:00 am on our first morning out! You can buy live shrimp and also marine fuel right there at the lodge. Take all the food, ice and other supplies you need because the closest place to restock is about 25-30 minutes away. The only issue I had was that I am a little OCD about a clean room and it really needs a good dusting all the way up the vaulted ceilings. Besides that it was great. The boat ramp is a little tricky because it's short but we managed to get our bay boat in and out with no problems. During the week we left it docked at the cabin and only trailered it when we left. There are plenty of supplies to rinse your boat off as well as nice cleaning stations to clean your catches each day. We take ziplock bags, filet the fish out and freeze them as we go. We took home an RTIC 45 full of fish fillets and only fished 3 days! We will be back!

A coffee maker, small fridge/freezer combo, and microwave are provided. The a/c/heater combo works well. Make sure to bring your own coffee (ground), breakfast food, and a pillow if you like more than 1 or 2. The motel and area are still recovering from Hurrican Ida, but it was great to go fishing in the area again. We lost our camp during the hurricane, and this is the first time we have been back to fish. We will be back in the summer.

It's about a 45 minute commute to C-Port and is much nicer than the Days Inn which is about a ten minute drive south. Location is everything and Holiday Inn already knew that. Wal-mart, Smoothie King, and Quiznos is right next to this place. How convenient is that? If all the rooms are booked, you can try getting a room in Raceland or Houma (which is only about a 45 minute commute to this place). Houma has a lot more restaurants to choose from. They are currently building another Hotel next to Holiday Day so vacancies should open up after it is complete. They are also opening up a Marriot close by as well but is still under construction as of 11/21/2014. The gym here is decent. They have some free weights and some cardio machines but don't expect much. It's a small room and is generally empty. Sometimes the machines are broken. Originally I gave this place three stars until I realized how much nicer it is compared to everywhere else in Galliano/Cut-Off. Pros: -Location (45 minutes to C-Port 2 Slip 9) -Accessibility (Close to restaurants and grocery store -Price. The standard rate is relatively expensive but if your company is paying for it then you get more points! -All the rooms have refrigerators. Cons: -Noise Level - Walls aren't that well insulated and sometimes construction goes on outside. If someone is using the BBQ pit in the back (which is rare), expect lots more noise from the party. Tips: -DO NOT SPEED IN GOLDEN MEADOWS. Cops are everywhere. -Bring $3 for toll if you plan on going to C-Port.

It was very convenient to where I needed to be, and it is located right behind the Civic Center, so that would be great if you have an event there. The lobby area is very large with great seating options, and it really has a glam feel to it. Check in was very easy, and the delightful employee made sure I was quickly to my room. I was given complementary water, so that came in handy with hydrating! There is just one elevator on the side were I needed to go, so I suppose that could be an issue if there's large crowds or for busy check in/check out times. My king room was on the 4th floor. The room is very large and was very clean. A large flat screen, mini fridge, coffee set up, and all the other usual items were there. The AC works VERY well, and it did not have that overly damp hotel room feel. I walked around the hotel, and it has a nice indoor and outdoor pool, and large workout room that even has free weights, and some of the rooms even have balconies overlooking the pool. I weighed my nearby restaurant options, but decided to just eat in the hotel bar area (I missed happy hour, but they have some deals during that.) I was a bit shocked at the prices of the food -- VERY affordable. I went back and forth on a few items and, per the sway of the employee there, chose the quesadillas. I was very satisfied and walked out not spending too much on a drink and dinner. I would have spent more if I would have gone off site. Back to my room, it was very quiet all night - nothing woke me up. The bed was pretty comfortable, and the shower worked all as it should. The icing on the cake is a noon check out! I was able to race, attend (and receive) the race award ceremony, go back to to the room to clean up and lie down for a bit, and then head home by 11:30. That is SO convenient when you sweat all morning and have a long drive home. I will absolutely stay here again when my path leads me to Houma in the future!

Towards the rear of the lot is a gazebo for grilling to wooden tables. The only negative I encountered was the lack of a washer/dryer. As a result, the staff in the main office will wash your clothes(no matter how greasy/grimy) for $1.50 per pound. Since I work in an open air environment most of my Fire-Retardant uniforms are wet/greasy causing it to weigh more(Hmmmm?). Almost forgot, cash only on your laundry dues. Finally, if you pay weekly its $75 a night; If not it's $85.
