It's taken me a few times to stop to not leave a review... just because this place use to be so great. Whoever is the sale associate that is in there a lot (at least the same one Ive seen over and over) is so unkind. The place is pretty dead. She isn't patient, she snaps back at any question, my mom pointed to something and asked a question and she yelled at her. You never know what someone is going through, but this hasn't been just one visit. Honestly she has almost become something we've laughed about when stopping because it's almost like she must be paid to be this miserable all the time. We won't be back except for the random clearance events. The place has definitely gone downhill in the past few years, less and less offered. The store space is smaller. The chocolates don't even taste the same (or maybe the experience makes it taste miserable, ahahah) I don't see it lasting more than another year or two max. We've found another place to go to get our chocolates that is much better and a way better experience. read more

Took the tour here and were fortunate to just take the tour alone. The tour was geared slightly above my kids ages (4yo, 6yo) but at least they got two samples, which kept their interest enough for the 40min tour. Tour guide was friendly, talkative, and informative. We scheduled a tour whole we were in town for something to do and it was great! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about all of the company and candy making. She was also very sweet toy little ones that weren't always interested in the details like mom and dad. We enjoyed our tour and presentation as well as the free samples of chocolate. I am a huge fan of all things chocolate and all types of candy varieties. So I was driving to pick up my wife from the Akron/Canton airport when I came across a sign that said offering free chocolate tours from 11am to 3pm. So I followed the road around and I came upon the Ferrero-Fannie May Fine Chocolate Factory which has a chocolate shop located inside the factory that is open to the public. One of the first things I notice when I drove up was a giant wooden chair with the Fannie May name on it where you can take pictures. The shop was just opening a lovely lady named Linda greeted me when she opened the doors, she said good morning and asked me if I needed any help. That's what I call top notch customer service. I told her how I was just dropping in before I picked up my wife. So I started to look around the shop, they had all kinds of chocolates to choose from which was amazing and it all look delicious. The most impressive thing was their display case that showed off all the different kinds of chocolates they have to offer, like I already said it looked very scrumptious delumptious. Linda then ask me if I wanted to start my morning off with a delicious chocolate and I said yes I would. I chose a pixie which is a caramel chocolate covered turtle and it was so yummy in my tummy. We drove a long way for the tour. Here's what it was like. First, a poorly made video slapping together some historic photos with various ads over the years and a wrapped chocolate sample. Next, stand in the hallway while the very cheerful guide points to the same photos seen in the video while repeating the company's history along with some info about how they've been bought out. Then a walk through hallways where, far distant, one could see machines and workers. About 45 long minutes. I admit it suffered from comparison with the tour Malley's Chocolates used to do at their Cleveland facility. There you could watch chocolates being made a few feet away through windows with a tray of samples at intervals. But the kids we brought had never been there, so their opinion wasn't influenced. Fanny May Chocolates is my family's vote for the worst field trip ever. read more

Disappointed! I made reservations in January to take my 3 kids for a tour in March during their spring break. We drove an hour to be told the tours were cancelled. The staff acted like it was impossible that I made a tour or should have known they were cancelled. Finally another lady comes out with a paper that shows they tried calling once and didn't leave a message in February. They had weeks to try and reach me again. It wasn't even so much that the tour was cancelled and that my kids didn't understand why. It was more the lack of sympathy and understanding that my time is valuable too. read more

Went here for the tour and the woman giving it was great, providing all kinds of interesting facts. The tour takes you overhead the staff working and they give you samples of chocolates and frozen sherbet at the end. The store has tons of selection for sale and tons of clearance items at the back. Just make sure you watch them entering the prices at the cash register as a few of our items were incorrectly entered as the staff member went by the bar code instead of the discounted price label. read more

I always call this Harry London, but I know that it's technically owned now by Fannie May's. We were disappointed that the tours were not operating. The website currently states they are available, but the phone message says otherwise. We did visit the retail store and my friend bought some goodies and the associate told her there's a lot of construction going on, so we wouldn't want to take the tour anyhow. Never been to a Chocolate Factory, but have been through a few factories and tours. This was a surprising place and tour. I was not expecting too much since it was free! Well, it turned out to be one of my better tours and places to visit. We arrive to find a beautiful business nested in trees and a nice winding drive to the parking and main entrance to a beautiful building and well manicured lawn. There was only one car in the visitors parking area. We wondered if they were closing! Inside it was very quiet, with two people at a sign in desk and the had at least one clerk. We discovery we were the last scheduled group (seven people). They were very friendly and they say they were not closing for a while. A man directed us to an small theater where we watched an eight minute movie and then he lead us out to begin the next phase of the tour. He began with th history of the company and how it got started, With picture of each year, in the beginning. We were given a very good overview of its origins and its development over the years. Very interesting. We are allowed to take picture only on the first floor. We then proceeded to the second floor. They have an elevator for those that do not do steps well. On the second floor we could look down through windows to see people making and some wrapping chocolates. The operation and how they do it was interesting, The man giving the tour was good as doing it. The tour guide answered all the questions asked. An interesting part of the story was the merger between Fanny May and London Chocolates. Then he explained that at the end of the tour he always gives out a few pieces of chocolate samples. Which he did of three types. He lead us back downstairs to the store and lobby. I asked him if he had some chocolate with coconut on or in them. He told me about two I said I really love that combination and he had the lady behind the counter give me a sample. I WAS HOOKED! Okay, unknown to me the wife had just picked up a couple of boxes of different candies. Well, I ask if I could have only a half pound of mine and they said no problem, They price to sell in different volumes. I took a few pictures in the store and outside. A group picture for YELP! I am surprised at their willingness. They had a motive. They each wanted a group picture and that was the least I could do as I am the group leader and the wife helps plan out the trips. This is a wonderful place for all chocolate lovers! About five seconds after entering we were offered chocolates (a variety to be exact) on a platter which we got to choose which one we wanted. I've never had chocolates from here before. We went in the storefront and tried samples. The workers are very friendly and upbeat at the counter. There's a huge fireplace with a copper hood and marble. It's a very clean nice looking store. The 2lbs of assorted chocolates I bought were $35. This is about $11 more than their competitor Heggy's. I notice the layer and thickness of the chocolate is much thicker than Heggy's. I can only eat a couple of these at a time. They are much more rich and dense than their competitor. I look forward to trying all the different varieties in the box. I found the shopping experience much more pleasant and less crowded than Heggy's. I love their candy bars, they have several types and I suggest trying them all! The pretzel joys are another one of my favorites. The king item for my is their Buckeyes. It's an Ohio thing, they make the best ones that keep me coming back or gives me excitement when I see them sold in random places. Get to the airport early just so you can get some for the plane ride. Their store opens at 9am except for Sunday. Make a right at the Harry London sign and follow the driveway to the parking lot. As you get near, the excitement builds about what might be behind the glass doors. Surprise! Chocolates in every shape, form, size, and flavor. First there's the display case with all kinds of delicious goodies from fudge to truffles to their new amazingly beautiful artisan line. Along the back wall next to the ice cream is their discontinued holiday or sorted truffle assortments for uber cheap. I dare you to get out with less than 2 bags full. read more

The tour was pretty cool. I was hoping for something hands-on though and it was very basic. I also hoped for more samples than a little piece of chocolate at the end. Their store is good, but pretty expensive. The clearance section is great. I tried the dark chocolate cherries (too sweet, not very good), mint chocolates (probably the best minty chocolate I've had), and the buckeyes (always delicious). Unfortunately, it seems that Fannie May has finally started to influence the home town feel for Harry London. The staff isn't what it used to be. Much colder and unwilling to see the customer's perspective. I had an issue there today with pricing. The boxes in the clearance section were not marked well and I had to have a discussion with one of the staff. There was no effort to resolve the issue, just stating the price over and over. I left empty handed for the first time in 17 years! I'll have to consider if I'll ever go back. I do love the chocolate! read more

Was rudely chastised about using my phone during the tour (which I didn't want to take in the first place, and the factory wasn't even running that day anyway, but the employee seemed to insist that we had to take the tour instead of just letting us shop). I didn't see anything posted anywhere about not taking photos but that's beside the fact that I WASN'T TAKING PHOTOS. I'm very obviously 8 months pregnant and was texting my husband to let him know how I was feeling at that point in my day-trip to Canton since I've had a few issues lately. furious.   keep in mind: I am a college student, I had about a 80-90 dollar budget for all of my items(4).       I have to call this week and try to get some of my money back.   I ordered 4 items, 2 to one mother and 2 to my boyfriends mother. 1 bag of chocolate covered cherries, 1 bag of chocolate covered blueberries- one bag to each woman. 2 spring truffle boxes-one to each woman.   first issue-the chocolate covered fruits were delivered days before they were supposed to arrive( I picked may 12)   second issue- checked my bank balance and I had a partial refund from them, when I called to inquire-we deduced that I had a partial refund because the item I picked was out of stock (spring truffle box) and so they refunded me automatically. so to make up for only half the mom's presents arriving, I ordered them different truffle boxes since the representative on the phone said the ones I ordered previously were not listed on any orders under my name.   the new boxes were roughly the same price.   third issue- checked my bank balance today, I was charged more money by this company!!!!!! turns out they shipped and charged me for: the chocolate covered fruits-that's ok the mothers day truffles I ordered in the first place AND the mothers day truffles I ordered as a backup when I was told they were out of stock and those truffles were no longer an option. so both mom's received 2 boxes of truffles and bag of chocolate covered fruit each.- ---way way way over my budget and now I am mad.     I was CONNED into purchasing more product and I doubt they will be issuing any partial refunds. I absolutely loved my trip here! It was my first time and didn't know what to expect. I was chaperoning a field trip with a bunch of 1st graders. We watched a 10 minute video and went on a tour of the place. The guides were VERY informative and patient. Chuck full of answers for just about any question! The free samples were wonderful, but best of all, timing for the store! Coming right from the holidays put all the holiday chocolates at 75% off and the "oops" candy was buy 1 get 1 free! When I was still teaching high school, I used to take my students to the Harry London factory tour, and they absolutely loved it. I took my 86-yr-old mom today just to the retail store portion, and she had the best time. We had a $10 off a $30 purchase, and who can pass that up? I purchased a plastic cup with candy inside at an outlet in IL. After going to wash it, I discovered a crack somewhere (I couldn't see it) and soap and water got in the inside lining. So I wrote to corporate at North Canton, OH. Call a call personally from Debbie R. She said they would replace the cup. I didn't save the receipt (figured I wasn't going two hours to return it.) In spite of that, she sent out a new cup and is arranging for Fed Ex to pick up the old one. Couldn't have asked for better service. She responded to my letter and emails right away.
