Omg you would not believe what happened. I got my massage on 3/18/2022 at 4pm and I paid for my massage in cash because she refused to accept my card. My payment was 60$ THENNNNN I tried to tip her a few dollars and SHE REFUSED my money. She used a Asian translator handheld that was black to communicate with me I tried to give her a $10 SHE REFUSED again saying she wanted more money. SHE DID NOT LET ME LEAVE UNTIL I TIPPED HER MORE. THEY HELD ME UP FOR NOT TIPPING $20 when I already paid for my services. SHE WAS VERY RUDE. I FELT HARASSED THE WAY SHE TOUCHED ME ALSO AND THE MASSAGE WAS TERRIBLE. SHE DID NOT EVEN TOUCH MY NECK OR SHOULDERS AT ALLLLLLLL. I ASKED FOR HOT STONES AND AT THE VERY END FOR 3 minutes (my timer was on YES) I got the hot stones. Hot stones should be first then massage not 1hr massage and 3 minutes of stones. I CANT TELL U HOW BAD THIS WAS I REALLY CANT BELIEVE IT THE AUDACITY SHE HAD I PAID FOR MY SERVICES!!! This review is for their sister company - Hawaii Essential Oil Spa located at 3101 N Division Street. I will never come back and support this business. For starters, I could not enjoy the massage because the masseuse kept talking to someone outside through the cloth barrier, two she went out several times and it wasn't to get the hot towels nor the hot stones but to talk to someone outside and to another customer. So my PAID 60 minutes actually was only 40 minutes from the talking and getting the hot stones and the hot towels. Three, I was moved from one room to another after I was already started and undressed because apparently they put me in a room where someone had another booking. And to make matters worst, I was told that the MINIMUM tip for a one hour massage is $15 when I already gave a 17% tip even though I was not happy with the service. read more

The women at Fancy Oil Spa assaulted me today. Here is the story: after my massage, I handed Wendy my debit card and told her to add a $25 tip. She attempted to run my card for 5 minutes and couldn't figure out how to work the machine (she is a newer employee as I understand), so the other lady came in to try to help her, but they still couldn't figure it out. I then provided a credit card, which they tried but were still unable to successfully work the machine. I know that the problem was on their end because last time I went in, Wendy had to ask the (male) employee to help her with the credit card machine. Also, both of those accounts had more than enough available balance to cover this transaction. I then told these women that since they couldn't get their credit card machine to work, I would go grab cash and bring it back. Granted, I understand that other people have probably tried to leave their premises without paying for services, and I understand that these women had reasonable anxieties that I wouldn't return with the money. But in this situation, the only possible way for me to pay them was to go get cash from the ATM and bring it back. When I told them I was going to do that, they began demanding collateral. I offered my 2 credit cards as collateral, but they said "No, those have no money." (Again, not true - the women just couldn't figure out how to work the credit card machine). They first demanded my drivers license as collateral - but I told them I needed it to drive legally. They then demanded my iphone as collateral. I told them no - primarily because by that point I trusted them about as much as they trusted me, and also because I needed my phone for GPS. Finally they asked for my ATM card - great idea, since you know, I was headed to the ATM. I refused and turned around to walk out the door. They (both) then chased me to the door, and as I opened the door they grabbed my arm and pulled it - hard - trying to physically restrain me from leaving. I pulled my arm away and got in my car as they snapped photos of me and my license plate. I then drove to the bank, and on the way I called the police to report the assault. Wasn't trying to be "Karen" about it, but they did technically physically assault me, and any lawyer worth their salt could make an argument for 2nd degree attempted kidnapping. The main reason for calling the cops, however, was to have the transaction mediated and documented by authorities, as I did not feel safe at that point to return to the spa alone. Upon returning to Fancy Oil, cash in hand, I sat in the parking lot waiting for the cop to show up. Wendy was standing on the curb on her phone, and the cop saw her there as he pulled up. Wendy went inside as I told my story to the cop in the parking lot, and then I went in to pay them. The cop came with me. Lo and behold, no employee was anywhere to be found. I'll let you come to your own conclusions as to why these women ran and hid from the police. After failing to locate any Fancy Oil employees for about 20 minutes, I just left the money at the front desk. Hope they found it. FYI, I tipped 20%. The massage itself was good, plus I'm classy. But Wendy (and the other lady), if you're reading this, you should really think twice before assaulting another customer. read more

This is a traditional Chinese massage place complete with the typical menu including a $30 60 minute "foot massage" which is more of a full body massage that concentrates on the feet. I added the $5 salt scrub and parafin wax. They also have a $55 deal going on right now which gives you a 60 minute body massage and a 30 minute foot massage. The service was excellent, and the people were super sweet. For the price of a copay I got a cultural experience, a massage that left me relaxed and soft feet. I love this place! read more

I was in Spokane for a quick road trip stop later at night. I found and called Fancy Oil Spa and they were able to accommodate me and my boyfriend immediately, asking if we would prefer a male or female masseuse. We gave them a ten minute heads up and everything was ready when we were arrived! We opted for the advertised 55 dollar special and started with a foot soak and massage. I try calling beforehand but don't always reach anyone. I have good success with walking in though. Prices are very reasonable- $30 for a 60 minute foot massage. While your feet are soaking, they massage your face, head, and arms. I have had massages from three different employees all with similar technique and pressure. The pressure does lean more to the strong/hard/deep side but just let them know and they will adjust. Location is very clean. They have a sign posted at the front that makes it very clear they do not provide any type of erotic massage. If you ask, they will call the Spokane Police Department. They take debit/credit cards for which there is a $2 fee. Tip is expected. read more

TERRIBLE!!!! They are the worst ever. I was in so much pain. I should have just stopped mid-massage but I just let it continue as I was trying to get a stiff neck worked out that I had for a week and I had hoped a deep tissue massage would do the trick. I was wrong. Toward the end the woman placed extremely hot stones in me that were so hot they burnt me. I jumped up and tried to say THEY ARE HOT!!! Of course she did not understand as she does not speak English. None of them do. They all use their phones to communicate. When I woke up this morning I have bruises on my back. I do not recommend to anyone unless you want the same experience I had. If I can get someone to take a photo of them I will, I am having trouble taking a good photo myself. They were heated up to the right temperatures and then gently applied to my skin. This is no game of cards or hot baked potato! I am someone who is afraid of hot surfaces, none of those phobias provoked intense sharp pains in my back. The whole experiences felt like a soft pillow cloud in Zeus's lightning powered infirmary. That mighty Greek God will zap your body back to normal. It was that sensational, so much so I will get hungry and will start craving for a bite to eat. Many of the specialists are pretty good at their job. Some people I feel do not press hard enough, you need to tell them to adjust their technique to your standard of comfort. Like anywhere else, there will be people who apply a lot of force and ones who normally don't. Many of them only speak Chinese, hence it is difficult to communicate for a lot of the customers. They do their best to accommodate you. I kinda of wish they would turn on the lights, it does get sort of gloomy in the main lounge/lobby area. The separate rooms where they take you for the table massages offer a serene setting to your soreness. With the calm, soothing lighting and the warm area, you cannot lose yourself that easily. My stiffly tight wounds from countless years of operations can finally rest in peace. Those familiar faces only stay here for less than a year before they take on new challenges, I miss the one bad boy from Chaozhou, he gave me the best massage ever here and we had the most excellent conversation in Teochew/Cantonese/Mandarin. I never would have gone if I'd had known they were so unprofessional. There was no introduction, no paperwork, no anything. The lady seemed nice and the massage wasn't horrible but, they teach you how to drape in school and she did not drape, she exposed my butt, the whole thing! Had she touched my crack I would have ended the massage and walked out. I'm a licensed massage therapist, I know what is the expectation. The real problem didn't come until the end, though. I only had $100 cash on me. The cost was $90, I put the cash on the counter and her face was confused and she asked for more money. So, I put the cash back in my wallet and tried to hand her my card but, she wouldn't take my card. Instead she took out a device and asked if I could give her more money. I understood that $10 wasn't a big tip, so I explained by showing her inside my wallet that I only had so much cash and said she would need to run my card. So then some lady came out and asked if she could help me, she also didn't speak English and then tried to guilt me about how hard the girl worked and wanted a larger tip. All through a device. I tried to show her that this was all the cash by again showing inside my wallet but I said I could use my card. That wasn't understood for some reason so they just tried to look at me sad and ask for more money. In the end I spoke into their device saying they were simply being rude and I just left the $100 on the table and walked out. I would have been happy to tip $20... I just needed to use my card! Since that wasn't an option and they continued to guilt me I will never go back and never recommend them. May actually report them to the massage board for inappropriate draping and just bad business. read more

OMG this place has a hidden gem of a massues (sp?). Great value for the money, did the 90 min massage, reflexology special. My person was just a little thing and let me tell you she has the strongest hands and does great deep tissue work. Here's the deal, you're paying $60 for a 90 minute massage. Expect some cut backs. In my opinion this is one hell of a deal! If your a picky person don't go here, I've had my masseuse using voice text with his mother once and another time where he had to leave a few times throughout the session. I'm not really sure what anyone else is talking about when they say that they don't understand the clients when they tell them softer or harder. BUT BEWARE, unless it's listed on the service you request, ANYTHING they offer beyond that, salt scrub or wax will be EXTRA. Seems obvious though, nothing in this world is free right. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have a $55 special that includes a half hour foot massage AND a full hour body massage.
